i just want you guys to know i wrote this shit at 3 AM

Samantha was like a lost deer in the middle of a forest as she scanned around for Joanne. The streamer wanted to keep moving but she'd just found out that Joanne was on her way via text. She was definitely a little antsy, which was probably a massive understatement. Samantha had been tapping her phone against her hand so much that there was a red welt that was starting to develop. On top of that, she was also fidgeting a bit, bouncing side to side as she waited for Joanne to finally show up. She really had no idea as to why she was so nervous. Was it because this was going to be the first time she was ever going to meet someone off the internet? She'd dealt with her fair share of people as a gamer and a streamer, but the amount of nervous energy radiating from her was enough to cook a steak.

A few minutes felt like a decade to Samantha while she waited for Joanne to get to her, and the longer she stood there the more she felt like she was getting stared at. Were people staring at her? Samantha wasn't entirely sure, but she wasn't surprised if she was. It was getting harder and harder to go unnoticed the bigger her stream got. The way things were looking, that wasn't going to be stopping anytime soon. There were a bunch of thoughts racing through her head as she waited for Joanne to show up and finally break the digital barrier that was between them. However, Samantha was starting to sink into them a bit, remaining relatively stationary near the parking lot exit, before she heard an all-too-familiar, yet unfamiliar voice call out her name.

"Sammy?"

Samantha's eyes darted behind her, her head soon following as she saw what was absolutely, undeniably, Joanne Lynn in the flesh. "Oh shi-!" Samantha barely uttered, before she was met with a hug big enough to create a shockwave throughout the city of Columbus, Ohio. Samantha also didn't expect Joanne to be so strong. As tight and enjoyable the hug was, she felt like she was going to suffocate if Joanne held on any longer. Not like she minded, but she was definitely expecting something a bit softer. Soon after, Joanne finally let go and Samantha was able to breathe a bit more freely once again. There was a smile on Samantha's face as the realization that she really was meeting Joanne was sinking in, even more so now that Joanne was apparently crying.

"Oh- don't cry! Nooo, you're gonna make me cry!" Samantha chuckled, feeling her eyes start to get a little misty. Whether or not those were real tears, however, that was up to Samantha to figure out. "I can say the same for you!" Samantha sighed, "I don't know what to say either. This is all soo overwhelming." Samantha took a deep breath to compose herself, "It's so good to finally meet you!" Samantha's eyes then transferred to two guys standing nearby. Maybe they were Joanne's friends?

Clearing her throat, she turned toward the two guys behind Joanne, reaching a hand out to both of them to shake. "Are these your friends, Joanne?" Samantha asked curiously, before flashing a smile at them, "Hi, I'm Samantha! It's great to meet you guys!" Samantha greeted, a slight tinge of manufactured and prefabricated laced into the greeting as she awaited their reply.

So far so good, right?
@Kiki is Anxious well well well... look who we have here

New school, new year, and new people. The switch from Liberty to Rosefell had taken Samantha for quite a spin, but she'd come to terms with the downgrade she'd be making for her last year in high school. But oh well, it wasn't like she could've done anything about it. Whether she liked or not (which she didn't), she was going to have to put up with it for the next nine months. It could've been worse, though it'd take a practical catastrophe to put her in a situation that would be worse having to attend Rosefell, the Crown Jewel of Columbus, Ohio.

Spending a good chunk of your high school career at Liberty -- you heard a bunch of different things about Rosefell. Sure, the tour of campus she took a while back didn't seem too bad, but looks were almost always deceiving. Sitting in front of her vanity, Samantha was in the middle of applying the finishing touches to her mascara, the brush just tapering off of the end of her now extended eyelashes. As she put the brush back in the container, her phone lit up, a push notification coming through telling her that someone had dared to text her at this time of day. A small sigh came out of Samantha, as she picked up her phone, the facial recognition software recognizing her stunning face almost immediately and revealing the contents of the notification.

"have a good time at rosefell c:"
sophie | a few minutes ago

Samantha made a rather unamused face at the phone, knowing full well that the message was practically CAKED with passive aggression and backhandedness, as if it were something out of Mean Girls or Gossip Girl. Knowing who had sent the text, it was almost certain that it was meant to be a very sarcastic, facetious text. Sophie was one of the upperclassmen she'd befriended at Liberty, before she took off and was left to the winds of wherever her post-high school life took her. Samantha was about 95% sure that she was a stripper or something like that. Her eyes could've rolled so far back that she could've seen the back of her own skull, but Samantha already knew how she'd respond. She propped her hand up with her fist, her other hand tapping away at her phone.

"thank u. hope they tip extra well tonight!"

Putting her phone down, Samantha got up from her vanity and looked behind her, finding her backpack chilling on her bed as she tried to remember what exactly she had to do next. She had it in the back of her mind earlier, but yet it had escaped as she got ready for the day. Oh, right, breakfast. Samantha had nearly forgotten that she actually needed to eat breakfast this year for once. For starters, the breakfast at Rosefell, assuming they even served it, definitely wasn't going to have anything on the breakfasts that would be served at Liberty. Samantha already missed the luscious breakfasts that were there. Additionally, if she promised her parents that she would start eating breakfast at home, they would get her the new graphics card she needed to replace her slightly-less-than-a-year-old graphics card.

However, they never specified what Samantha had to eat at breakfast, nor how long she had to stick around. Putting her hands on her hips, she pondered on what else she needed. Didn't seem like she missed much else. Samantha slung her pink backpack on her shoulders, walking downstairs to the kitchen to have some breakfast. Stepping down, her parents, Isaac and Erin, were sat at the counter. Isaac was watching the TV, watching what had happened in the world while Erin was on her phone, scrolling through her phone with one finger while she was looking down at the screen with her glasses, before they noticed that Samantha had come down. "Mornin, sweetie!" Erin exclaimed, before turning around and handing Samantha some Quaker's Instant Oatmeal. "I know you're in a rush to get to your new school early, so I figured this will be quick and easy enough to eat." Samantha looked down at the cup of instant strawberries and cream oatmeal, before back at Erin.

"Thanks, mom..." Samantha smiled sheepishly, before walking over to the water dispenser to pour some hot water in it. "Don't forget to stir it this time, Sammy." Her father mentioned, before chuckling softly. Samantha's face turned a light shade of red, grabbing a spoon from nearby to stir the oatmeal as it was cooking in the boiling water. "Yeah, yeah... thanks." Samantha rolled her eyes, before she set the oatmeal down. "You excited for your first day? I know it's a new school and all, and it's not where you wanted to be, but... hey, it's a fresh start!" Erin asked sweetly, looking at Samantha who started to poke at the oatmeal with her spoon. "Uh, I mean... I guess? School's school... just wish I was back at Liberty. It's not the same." Samantha sighed, before taking a very tiny bite of the oatmeal.

"I know, sweetie, but you just gotta make the most out of what you've got right now. At least your friends will be with you! If anything, you can stick with them." Erin replied, somewhat oblivious to the social repercussions that being relegated to Rosefell entailed. Samantha, "Yeah..." Samantha nodded, before taking a bigger spoonful of the oatmeal now that it had cooled down a sufficient amount. "Your mom's just trying to make you feel better. Relax, Sammy, you'll settle in soon." Isaac charmed in, before turning the TV off to get ready for his own day.

Samantha stayed silent, before stuffing her face with more oatmeal. "Just try to make the most out of it, alright? You only get one senior year of high school." Isaac remarked, passing by Samantha as he looked in the mirror nearby, tightening his tie as he got ready to head out to work. "I'll try." The high school senior replied as she finished up her oatmeal, throwing the container away in the trash can as she walked to the key bowl to grab her keys. "Samantha." Erin exclaimed, "Have a great day at school. Love you!" Erin smiled, before Isaac expressed the same sentiments. Flashing a quick smile, Samantha nodded, "I will, don't worry! Love you guys too!" Samantha said, as she fished her keys out of the bowl and put her door on the handle. "Bye mom, bye dad!" Samantha said quickly, before leaving the household. Just as soon as she stepped foot outside, her smile faded away as she looked down at her phone, pulling up her friend, Joanne as well as Miki, and shot them a quick text as she walked to her car.

hey jo meet me near the parking lot. i'll have a pink backpack on and a white t-shirt. you can't miss it uwu

It wasn't long before Samantha arrived at Rosefell High School, the now bustling campus full of life as many new faces would make their debut, as well as returning faces coming back. Samantha had a little knot in her stomach, but she knew that if she played her cards right and stuck with the right people it wouldn't be as bad as she thought. Or so, she hoped. Parking her Volkswagen Golf in a spot that wasn't too far away from the entrance, Samantha quickly got out, swinging her backpack on as she quickly glanced down at her phone, looking for a response from Joanne and/or Miki as she made her way to the entrance, hoping that Joanne would actually be there and that she could finally meet her longtime online friend.
Athena nodded as Mark touched upon Morocco. There was a first time for everything, Athena supposed. At least there was a place to start, that much Athena was grateful for. The American operative sighed and looked over at Mark, knowing what they were going to get themselves into. "When are we heading out?"

Valentina had no clue as to how she managed to let Zoe convince her to travel all this way. Though, it wasn't like it was necessarily a bad thing. It was definitely different from the typical winter destinations, but Valentina wasn't complaining. The Colombian had gone to quite a bit of winter destinations, but definitely nothing in this region. Trekking up the mountain, glances were taken at the spanning scenery down below. The most Valentina had heard about Morocco was stuff she'd seen on TV, but television didn't do this wonderful country any sort of justice whatsoever. It was breathtaking, and Valentina was sort of glad that Zoe had brought her along, despite her rather insistent nagging.

The stunt Zoe had in mind definitely added to the incentive for Val to come as well. There was no way she was going to turn down an opportunity to speedride down a Moroccan peak. Valentina had some experience in speedriding, but gaining more experience in it was never going to hurt. It made the long trek upwards all the more worth it, knowing that they were going to descend in style. The French Alps were nice, but the Moroccan Alps definitely gave it a run for its money.

Valentina was sat down in the snow next to Zoe, her own goggles sitting on her forehead as she looked at Zoe's slightly annoying ass. Valentina herself had a couple of GoPros mounted on her. One mounted on her shoulder, one mounted on her chest, and another mounted on her helmet to capture as many angles as she could. She had a channel to run herself, and footage was everything. The girl did roll her eyes as Zoe inquired about their future endeavors downhill. "I dunno... not if you keep asking me like that." Valentina laughed, shaking her head.
The information that Mark was relaying to Athena was nothing short of surprising to her. To her understanding, it seemed like every single crime syndicate on the world was working together, and not in a war with each other and fighting each other. Seemed like the crime organizations of the world figured out how to run things. It wasn't just a superficial, localized thing either. There were ties all over the world and the roots ran deep. It was far, far easier to list out where the Syndicate didn't have their hands in. The scope of what Athena and Mark had gotten themselves into had come as quite a shock to her. She didn't know it was this big. "Jesus... how deep does this shit run?" Athena sighed, continuing to look at the list in front of her.

One name in particular seemed to catch Mark's attention, causing Athena to focus her attention back in on the screen. Ektarina Kolhakova. Athena had never been to Morocco, but she knew that a trip there was going to lead to some hopefully very fruitful intelligence that would lead to the collapse of this syndicate. Athena was getting a grip of what they were really getting themselves into. The two of them, taking care of all this. It was nothing short of amazing, and the two were definitely trained enough to take care of it.

"Of course I'm with you." Athena scoffed, "What kind of question is that?" The INTERPOL agent shook her head, before folding her arms. "You ever been to Morocco? I don't think I've ever been." Athena asked curiously, as she looked over at Mark. "Hopefully she cooperates with us. I don't want to fight for nothing..." Athena said, before walking over to a pile of hard disks. "We got everything we need here? I think it's almost time for us to pack up and leave."
nope not a fan of sailor moon at all

not one bit...
yeet
The airport was one of the last places you'd ever want to chase someone down, especially if that someone was aligned with INTERPOL and had the governments of various countries on their side. If the Serbians hadn't fucked off by then, they were in for a storm. Luckily, by the time they'd reached the airport there seemed to be no signs of trouble to be found. Pulling up Mark at the security gate, the personnel around the gate were a bit wary of the vehicles that had just arrived, especially with Mark's smashed up Range Rover. Though, the pass he flashed, as well as Athena's pass had relieved the guards of a moderate amount of suspicion. They were still confused as to why the car was smashed up in the first place, or why there were bullet holes in it, but it was better that they leave it alone and not question it. Some questions were better left unanswered, after all.

Pulling into the hangar, Athena was a little reluctant to hop out of the vehicle, relishing in the sheer comfort of the vehicle before she finally got out. As comfortable as the car was, she still had a job to do. Hopping out, Athena immediately went to the car's trunk and opened it up, revealing various computers and hard drives in the back. Knowing how these things usually went, it was going to take a while to fully comb through the data by themselves. They were field agents - although that didn't mean they didn't know how to process these things, there was probably going to be stuff they were going to miss while they combed through. Athena pulled out a bag with a couple of laptops and hard drives, before walking over to the same desk that Mark had set his stuff up at.

"There better be something useful." Athena said, before opening the laptops and booting them up. The laptops took a while to boot up, but once she was able to get in, Athena started to dig for files, and it wasn't long until she found some stuff that had caught her attention. There were a lot of numbers flying about, but then Athena started to see some cities, which was what really caught her eye. "Hey... it looks like they're operating out of a lot of places..." Athena said, scrolling through, "London, Rome, Monaco.... and New York City?" Athena raised an eyebrow, before turning to Mark. "I've never dealt with these guys in New York City. I've dealt with the mob, triads, cartels, and a bunch of other organized crime... but not the Serbian mob." Athena said to Mark, stepping aside to allow him to take a closer look.
