Truculent Nature, Before During and After Disaster

You know what, I had not even thought of a volcanic basis for this idea. My mind was dead set on earthquake or tsunami.

A volcanic eruption, would be just as devastating. And quite possibly get us the exact same problem.

Dare we try Vesuvius or even Yellowstone maybe? Hmmm that begs some thought.

May be a little too soon for a Japanese setting. But at the same time that is true about California. It's always getting hit in movies books and games.

I'll have to look a little closer at areas in earthquake zones.

Meanwhile feel free to suggest more areas.

But Nature can also be a fickle bitch. Cool breeze can become freezing wind. Warm waters can turn into boiling sulfurous lakes, and sunny skies can turn dark with biting storms. But it's the ground that can be most dangerous. Shifting earth, tearing apart land, city and civilization alike with the force of tectonic motion. The ground splitting to let lose the hot inner blood of lava and magma through volcanic action. Or causing water to raise high, and plunge mankind into a wet, heavy darkness of the tsunami.[/i]

So, as a group we need to come up with somewhere for this to occur first. That's our first mission. After that will be character sheets.

So let's hear ideas.

I am seriously thinking about ding our own rendition about the much anticipated "Big One" in California. The one that really causes damage.

At the moment is it almost midnight for me. I believe we have enough people to atleast consider putting an OOC up. I'll get that tomorrow.

We can do somemore discussion on potential places for this to occur. And try to come up with a character template so we can put characters together.

Huh, well that's one, would like 1 more maybe 2 before we switch this over to an OOC thread.

Thinking this will be in casual, but run mid to high casual.

Inspired by the Sumatran, Thai and Japanese tsunami/earthquake disasters and the stories of survival that came out of them

I usually write these pretty short stories about my ideas when I put up an interest check. To show what I envision the RP to be about.

But in all honesty I can't for this idea. It may still be too soon for these disasters, and the loss of life and property that came with them. Lives in the millions were lost, people missing. Husbands, wives, children, sons and daughters. Some of us live in landlocked areas, and will probably never know the devastation of a tsunami strike.

But I propose we try to imagine it, in our own way. No heroes, no villains, no people trying to get rich off suffering, or supermen who just got swept 3 miles from where you were with the ability to wade back in hours.

In a nutshell we will pick a location that is likely to be hit by a earthquake/tsunami event, RP the days before leading up to the event itself. RP the actual event, what happens to our characters when the waters hit and likely destroyed what you might own or where you might work. Then after the waves, RP how we might go about survival until help arrives. Did you lose your family? Are they still alive? Can you find them? Were you a lone hiker, and now can't get home? Were you a policeman or a fireman and now you need to figure out how to help?

We can discuss things like Character sheets and things like that later. I right now just want to see if there is interest in the idea.

I shall be keeping an eye on this. Being a fan of Assassin's Creed since the first game I'm always down for something like this.
