Cal was in the doorway. He hadn't realized he was spotted by Zoe until she spoke. He looked up and chilled somewhat at the comment, but it didn't hold any real energy like it used to. He moved out of the doorway and shut the door before letting himself fully loose it. He slumped as he spoke. "When shiver left it hurt...but I thought maybe she'd say something...and I still had some hope that we were still together" he looked at Zoe his eyes filling up with emotion. "She never said that we were over...she just left...and now she came back...and I didn't want to fully forgive her....and now.." he inhaled. "Now she's with Ro'Kun...just....hurts" he looked down. "I should've known"

Cal looked up at Ro'Kun and tilted his head. "While hitting you would be satisfying...it wouldn't help. You both hurt me...but this isn't a physical pain. This is worse." he stood and shook his head. "this is worse...though I will say she hurt me far more then you did" he crossed his arms. "So, no I'm not going to hit you. I'm just going to walk away and hope that at least she doesn't hurt you like she did me." with that he turned and started to walk away. He hit the com link. "Any missions that are open toss them my way. If I'm needed I'll be in the gym"

Hurt was still very audible in his voice...along with a different tone. A tone of someone who maybe wasn't going to be so puppy like. The innocence that had surrounded him was even gone. "Happy birthday to me" was barely audible as he walked. He was 21 today.l and yet he felt so much older. He had never told the team (though some figured out the date) his birthday...figuring that every day he was lucky to be a part of it. Now a part of him missed his family...well...his adoptive family so to speak.

It was all over quickly. Cal sighed as he saw that shiver would be okay...he hated how he felt. His chest felt sore as he made his way to a couch and sunk into it. His head down. For the first time he felt a wall go up. He would not let himself get hurt again...he learned his lesson.

In his current state, he did not even notice Ro'Kun in the same room. Either that or he simply didn't care. He felt used...as if he had only had that relationship so shiver could be in one while pining for Ro'Kun. He mentally scolded himself for not seeing the signs sooner. Heck she left without saying anything then continued to not say anything for six months. His thoughts continued to travel through random thoughts while outwardly he seemed...distant. A complete change from the happy go lucky cal that would trip on everything.
