The World - Earth-324

Premise
The Premise of Heroes Reborn - A DCU Roleplay is that you are creating a character within a world that is similar to that of the DC Universe portrayed within the comics, animated series and other media. In this multiverse (which is infinite like its Marvel counterpart), there is no Clark Kent, no Bruce Wayne, Diana Prince or similar canon characters. On-324 in particular, there is (or perhaps was), a Krypton...there is still a Themyscira, Atlantis, Gorilla City and other memorable cornerstones of the universe. The familiar cities of Metropolis, Gotham and their ilk all exist.

In other words, while the characters themselves may not exist in the multiverse of this roleplay, the powers and abilities they're known for do. There are still Green Lanterns, still Amazons. You may create a character that possesses these powers, or may invent something entirely new and unique altogether!

Of course, there are restrictions to both of these options...but this will be covered further in the main thread should this garner enough interest.

This game will take place throughout the entirety of the Earth, but you should probably base your character in the United States, as the DCU typically centers on it. You can be elsewhere if you like, but your interaction with other players might be limited for it.

Should you have any questions about the premise, do not hesitate to ask! I'm happy to explain it all in detail!

Just so we're clear, there will be certain restrictions on the characters you can choose. This thread is simply to gauge people's interest, you should wait until I post the main thread to set your heart on any one concept.

MAIN THREAD IS NOW UP!!
@Raineh DazeI was planning on having Rider note, "Are all my opponents in this war to be women and children?!"
Cassandra Edelfelt

"Well, if you want to decorate you could always build your table out of all the skulls lying about down here. Bone's pretty sturdy," Cassandra noted to her servant. The girl was the very definition of whimsical, not that Cass minded at all. Things were never gloomy or depressing with her around, despite them residing in a subterranean graveyard.

When she listed off everything that had occurred, Cassandra nodded along. It was much as she had seen, though Archer had surprised her. It seemed everyone had an idea to try and make a move tonight at the Church. Yet, interestingly, he had chosen to assist the Master of Saber, rather than ensure her downfall. It seemed rather counterproductive to her. Obviously, Saber being removed from the war would benefit everyone. She was at the very least one of the strongest servants, after all.

Cassandra just couldn't understand the behavior of her opponents at times.

When Caster began her call for tea, Cass smiled. Standing from her seat, she took the doll-like servants black hand in her own and nodded. "Yes, let's have some tea. There'll be plenty of time to be 'friendly' later."

Rider

Rider hopped to his feet at his Master's last words, his face set into a frown. Casually strolling over to the girl, he reached out and pinched her cheeks. Stretching them apart, he leaned forward and shook his head at her. "What your family wants? How about what you want?"

Still cartoonishly pulling on her cheeks, Rider continued. "Look, I get being appreciative to your family, but they're gone now. You're the one fighting this war, aren't you? You're the one putting your life on the line."

"Maybe your family really did love and care about you as much as you say," he finally let go of her cheeks. "But if that's the case, don't you think they would wish for you to find a dream you can call your own? Having your own desires, your own ambitions, that's what it means to be a 'person'."

Looks great!
Since school is starting back for many, I ask everyone to please be patient while everyone adjusts. :)
Rider

"I suppose it wouldn't make much sense, would it?" Rider speculated, walking over to a large sofa and throwing himself back onto it. Rather crudely propping his black sneakers on the coffee table in front of it, he folded his hands behind his head. "Why sacrifice you to summon the grail if there aren't any living Varianbec's to make a wish once it's here?"

Needling his temple in irritation, Rider shook his head. "Bah, I hate magic. It's so pointlessly complicated."

Honestly, he couldn't imagine fighting for the grail under such circumstances if he were in her shoes. That is to say, if she was somehow supposed to die for it. "...What is your wish, anyhow? I don't think you told me."

@VitaVitaAR
Rider

"Good," Rider tersely replied. He had been quiet the entire trip home as well, and had not bothered to glance down at the girl once after their departure. When they arrived at her estate, he had ordered his chariot to hide itself within the premises but did not dismiss it. If there was one thing Estelle undoubtedly remained good for, it was her near-bottomless reserve of prana, and the longer his Noble Phantasm remained active, the more powerful it would become.

"When you step onto the battlefield, your sole concern should be victory and how you can achieve it. If you allow yourself to be distracted by fear, hesitation or thoughts better suited for more amicable surroundings, you will surely fail," Rider continued speaking as they entered her home.

"As we are now in such a place, however, I will ask: Is it true? The things she claims about your family and the Holy Grail," Rider closed the door behind him, his spear fading along with his armor. He was now wearing a blazer over a white button-up business casual shirt and black pants.

@VitaVitaAR
@Raineh DazeIf he DOES care, he won't show it in front of others. His comment about being unable to fathom Johanna's threat was because Estelle is her enemy and it would be solely to her advantage if he did abandon her.

Also, not sure if Rider could've really done anything to help Mira even if he'd stayed, but he'll be pissed if Saber gets taken out of the war in such a "cowardly" way.
Rider

When Rider had first stepped food out of the Varianbec estate tonight, he had an idea of how things would go. He would knock a few heads together, maybe eliminate a servant, and gain a solid grasp of his other opponents. As it turns out, he had failed to kill any of the opposing servants, though he did at the very least get to assess what would likely be his greatest foe during the Grail War. She was, so far at least, one of the few people he had gained a deep and genuine respect for.

Despite Johanna Faust threatening him for reasons he couldn't even begin to fathom, he simply ignored her. She was no threat to him, and in any case, he was a Heroic Spirit...he was already dead. Not that he had ever let the fear of death stop him from doing what he wanted in life.

Watching her beast carry her off underarm was somewhat amusing, however.

When Estelle agreed to end the fight, and promised to punish the woman with her own hands next time, Rider offered her a light smile. Well, it was something. Only time would tell if she would make good on her words.

Refocusing his attention on Saber, his chariot slowly drifted closer to her and her Master. It's steady movement was meant to convey a lack of hostility, as he simply wished to deliver a last message to a worthy opponent. Grinning broadly at the tiny swordswoman, he cocked his head back with a chuckle. "Saber, the one enjoyable thing tonight was our duel. Something tells me you will be the greatest foe I can expect from this war, and for that reason..."

His chariot drifted higher at this, turning to face the Varianbec Estate. "For that reason, I would like to save our rematch until the very end, when there's no chance of outside interference. Talk it over with your Master. I'll do the same. Until then!"

With a quick wave over his shoulder, the chariot vanished in a flash of light.
