The Villa Nantua held a modest banquet when Rodrigo announced his ascent to the Mastership, and very little changed in their routine despite the announcement. Rodrigo however, quickly took command of the army, confirming himself as commander-in-chief of all armed forces, answering only to the Dogaressa herself.

Rodrigo executed a new plan as to training of the men. The militia were to be given military training similar to, if not equal to that of the men-at-arms, he also propositioned a few noble's second sons as to the creation of a cavalry brigade. The main part of Rodrigo's plan, however, was a revitalized recruitment drive, as to achieve this goal, he stood himself on the balcony of the Palazzini di Veranti and attempted a speech to bring a sense of nationalism to the Veranthan youth.

"Good day to all citizens of fair Veranth, greetings from the humble council of peers. As has been said, our fair city is in dire need of an army, if we fail to defend our homes and our families, what will be left of our glorious city but mud and flame? The godly and pure kingdom of man on Earth cannot fall to infighting and division! We are Veranthans, whoever leads us, and who does not wish to be a Veranthan? If we grant those others a chance to live in the City of God, then it is certain that they will believe us the true successors to god himself. Our beauty cannot die, Veranth cannot be forgotten, but it cannot be kept this way without its people to protect it. If you are strong, pick up a blade, a bow, perform god's will on Earth! Do not bow low to oppression from our northern neighbors, if they are to step over us, they will have to step on the burning flame of our spirit, our faith, our fury! Live for Veranth! Veranth will last forever!"

OOC: Speech check (Rank 1)
@Empress Yeah true.
So are our actions going to be taken with a story post or just with a sort of "Guy A does a thing, uses skill ???." sort of post?

Andrew looked at Rokk and smacked him over the shoulder with a little too much force. He backed away and apologized before taking a silent look at the rest of the team.

"I understand what you're saying, Rokk, but I think they can do it. They're good kids, and they can fight better than anyone I've ever met when they're ready for it. If you're worried, I'll be there to protect them. I'm good at that if nothing else," he said, smiling, then his face turned downwards and he stared at the ground a moment. "I'm worried about myself more than anything. Sometimes I think I won't be able to take anymore, eventually I'll collapse and I won't be able to get up anymore... but I still go, don't I? Maybe it's just I don't want anyone else to die, maybe it's just selfish glory-hogging, but I know it's there, and I know that I'll always be there for the Legion. I promise you, Rokk, I won't let anyone else die."

Turning to everyone else, he gave Rokk one last thumbs up before addressing Pano.

"You know, I think you're my favorite. Even so, I don't think I can talk Braniac down, I think he's made his mind up. No matter how much it hurts to say it, I'm pretty sure we're going to end up killing him," he managed to get out, frowning invisibly behind his mask. "I know it's against your code, hell, it's against all our codes, but this isn't some comic book anymore, he's shown himself to be willing to kill any number of us, and I don't care if it makes us just as bad as him, we can't be safe until he's dead," he said, steeling himself from the emotions that began collecting in his abdomen.

They couldn't win this if they left Braniac alive, winning is calling the final shot, permanently. They were friends once, but Andrew only felt hate for the man, what he had done to them. He knew Rokk didn't feel the same, but Andrew was not Rokk, and Andrew had grown too attached to the new recruits to let them die a pointless death trying to capture a man who had no good left in him.
Zod still hadn't gotten used to Earth by the time he had been propositioned to aid with this odd creature's pet project, he accepted in exchange for the chance to meet this Superman who he'd heard so much about, he barely knew what was happening when he was separated from his guards, hauled into a plane and told to destroy a device in order to stop some "Starro" menace.

It was all a little overwhelming.

Their language was easy to pick up on, and Zod quickly put it to good use.

"What is even happening and why?"

When the first earthling he had met leapt out the hanger door, Zod noticed a flaw in their plan.

"Well, I am not as durable as you think I am, so I'll just be a moment," he yelled over the wind, and then a moment later he had disappeared in a purple flash.

A moment later he reappeared, wearing a massive suit of metallic armor, with blue highlights and a large blue circle in the center of his chest. His eyes slowly became a bright, flaming red visible through the slits in his helmet, and he shot forth a blast of red energy, tracing a line of flame along the Zorro constructions before shooting down after the red-haired meta-human.

I really should just blow everything up and say "Give me Superman or I'll kill you"... a tempting thought, but I'm a King, not some brute.
@Polybius
I'd say fill it with an NPC.

As do I
"Larcen you dolt! I just showed you my plane! I don't need someone covering me, I've got that handled!" Ken yelled out as a few rounds peppered his plane. Her engine was close to the back so it was dangerous for him to have folks behind him. Of course, he had thought of that, and installed a beautiful copilot to help with defense. Pushing a few buttons in the console, he activated the rear-facing cannon, which quickly began firing at the pursing JD 2 and 4. After a few shots had echoed through the cockpit he pulled down the gun and executed a double aileron roll to move himself out of their flight-path.

He prepped the scanning computer and pulled up towards the rest of the unit, attempting to get a lock on the Devils' ace.

"I'm activating the computer, if we're lucky this should give us a chance to take down this piece of crap!" He yelled out with a smile on his face. Things were starting to go his way, he could get the others started on taking down the ace, then focus on the larger one, then mop up the other losers.

Meanwhile, JD3, recovering from Larcen's attack, shot towards the Brit, aiming to get some revenge for almost knocking him out of the air, attempting to get off a few shots on him and landing around two, dealing 4% damage to Larcen's Pepper Bird

JDs 2 and 4 were fooled fairly well by Ken's turn, but managed to collect themselves and fly back towards him, with 2 taking the higher position and 4 flying beneath.

JD 5 meanwhile, clipped multiple times by Hajar's assault (16% Damage), turned away from Hannah to take down the wildly shooting Moroccan, getting a few good hits on the large Israfil for 10% damage.
