Bio

Howdy, I'm Boston! I'm a mid-twenties gal from Southern US. I am a huge science geek, so most of my interest revolve around that. In terms of RPs, I am interested in:

Sci-Fi, more towards science. exploration, and space.
Post-Apocalyptic settings, like plagues, zombies, even natural disasters could be fun.
Horror, Call of Cthulhu, paranormal mysteries. Especially if it is like X-Files or Twin Peaks.

I prefer more small group RP or 1x1. Romance is fine with me, but no erp.

Before entering the gas station, Billie lingered on the military jets flying towards New York. She didn't recognize the type of jet. Would they fire on U.S. citizens with this level of outbreak? How high on the chain of command did the orders come from to destroy the bridges? Too many questions. Right now, they needed to get supplies and stick together. Half the aisles were ransacked to oblivion, she wouldn't help. "Flashlights, batteries, antibiotics, water." Time for the buddy system.

Inside, Billie kept a close distance to June at the beginning. The first stop was at the snack aisle. June was stockpiling on gummy worms and other snacks as though there would never be anymore. Wanting to feel useful, she grabbed one of the remaining gummy worm packages. If June ever ran through her cache, which seemed likely, it would be a nice present. She followed June towards the electronics section. Finally. Billie grabbed two flashlights and their respective batteries. One for her and the other as a spare. Right as Billie looked up, June was halfway across the store towards the energy drinks. There goes the buddy system.

Billie tossed her pack of gummy worms in her basket before grabbing a case of water bottles. She lifted the case onto her shoulder to carry with one hand semi-free. She headed towards the gas station's questionable medicinal aisle. She grabbed a handful of pill bottles: aspirin, Advil, flu medicine, and some cough drops. Not perfect against human rabies, but what could you do? Nearby was a man with a bite mark examining the gauze. Open wound. Bleeding. This man was a walking contamination for this strain of rabies to Billie. She turned to Lex and whispered to prevent the man from hearing. "Hey, don't get too close. The blood might be infectious." She headed to the checkout line. In a hurry, she slapped down enough cash to pay for her goods and some extra. With her flashlights, water, and medicine, she rushed back to the MRAP.

The past five hours were a blur to Diane. Four hours ago her school underwent a lock-down with maniacs rushing around attacking each outside. In the last hour, hysterical family members breached the school entrance to find their children before...before they started ripping each other. The police couldn't stop them all. Diane found herself running home until Paul intercepted her. Three days ago she received a notice that Paul appealed the court's custody decision. This prick (excusing her language) couldn't live without finding a way to damage AJ's and Diane's life even more. If it weren't for AJ's life in danger, she would have spit on Paul's face and slammed the door. At least, she would want to. Knowing Paul, he would twist every interaction with Diane to make her sound like an irresponsible mother unfit to raise AJ.

"It would be so much easier if you let me call AJ on your phone! Keep your eyes on the road!" Diane didn't like raising her voice, even at Paul, but in her frantic state all the manners were tossed by the wayside. "Okay the tracker app shows AJ near the Caldwell Mini Mart! It's only a mile away." Diane rose her head as the two passed near a military vehicle parked by a gas station. "Paul, Paul, look!" She pointed to the MRAP. "Maybe they can help us!"

Losing a vehicle in this catastrophe hurt, but getting out of New York City was well worth the cost. Billie turned towards June hoping to offer some condolences. "If it helps any, my SUV is lost in the city too. While I'd love to get my car back, let's count our blessings, shall we?" She was happy to hear most of the women agreed to rendezvous in the cabin and get the hell out of dodge. With the panic, Billie felt a responsibility to the other women to keep them safe. If she was the only one, then she would have been working on her next escape plan. She did not fully trust the police officers, though Lex didn't count amongst them to her.

Not too far from her was Isaac, who'd been sweating for some time now. She couldn't blame him. With the fear and heat, she was doing the same. Though he appeared to fair worse than her. Once the stranger introduced himself as Flynn Price, she felt a little more comfortable knowing his name."Howdy, Flynn. Thank you again for getting us the hell outta there. My name is Billie." She refrained from repeating her last name with the police officers nearby. She did just vandalized the museum and stole everything from a vending machine. Not long after, Gus informed them he was filling the MRAP up with gas. This would be their last pit stop before heading to the cabin.

Billie counted on her fingers of what was needed while keeping track of what she could carry: flashlights, batteries, lighters, anti-biotics, and a twenty-four pack of water to distribute amongst the group. It would help, albeit temporarily. Billie turned towards the group in the back of the van, but mostly addressed the other women: Kali, June, and Lex. "Hey, with everything that is happening in New York, I wouldn't be surprised if we have some rabies outbreak here too. I'm pretty scared of what's going on and I don't want to see any of you get hurt. So when we get to the gas station, please stick together inside. I'll be getting some flashlights, batteries, a lighter, any medicine I can grab, and a case of water. Understood?" With the state of emergency, it is easy for people to get lost, confused, and turned around. Of the crew, Billie trusted Lex the most to keep calm under pressure.

Horror has always portrayed a lot of women protagonist, so it tracks. These gals gotta stick together.

Tension rose as they approached George Washington Bridge. Outside, civilians underwent full body investigations for any injuries. Those that failed were turned away at gunpoint to return to the infested city. She wondered about the ones who tried to make a run for it. With the fortifications, she doubted someone would make it. If their cover as military personal failed, would a worse fate follow? Fortunately, the military checkpoint held lax regulation for military vehicles. They managed to pass through with ease. Billie sighed in relief. She didn't fully trust Gus and Flynn yet, but she wouldn't make it out of New York without them.

After introducing herself with the others in the MRAP, she turned upfront to answer. There would be no opportunity to turn back for her SUV, so where to next? Normally, she wouldn't trust a strange man for shelter, especially in the middle of the forest, but this group proved itself so far. "Gus, was it? I vote we take you up on that offer. At least temporarily. If they are blowing up the bridges to New York, imagine how it fares elsewhere? I don't think high density areas are safe right now. We should be safer out in the woods. Away from everyone." She said. Billie turned to the other passengers waiting for their votes.

Billie paused staring at the bag of gummy worms before giving a small chuckle. Here they were trading snacks like a pair of schoolgirls on field trip while just an hour ago she saw a stranger's arm get chewed off by those cannibals. The concept of eating right now made her stomach turn, but if she didn't do something she'd scream. "Thank you, June. My name is Billie." She spoke hesitantly and did her best to maintain some level of composure. She gently reached into the bag with her uninjured hand and pulled out an orange gummy worm. "Oh and thanks for the help back there, Lex. I'll pay the fines when we're on the other side," she joked. Billie twisted the worm between her fingers. Pay the fines? What was she thinking? It felt cruel joking about fines while others laid dead on the streets. Now was not the time to think about it. Giving into the fear wouldn't serve any purpose. She tossed the gummy worm into her mouth pretending afterwards it would calm her down.

After a brief moment, Flynn and the strangers brought supplies into the MRAP. The vehicle rumbled before speeding off to the unknown. Billie leaned to the side eavesdropping on the radio. Hearing that the military would initiating a lock down and blowing up the bridges at four, she scrambled to get her phone out of her pocket. In her haste it fell down to the ground. She scooped it up to read the time. They still had an hour and a half. "Oh thank goodness, oh thank god. We still have time," she muttered to herself. Dozens of notifications flooded her phone from her family, friends, news alerts, and pointless spam alerts.

Billie sent her mother and a few friends updates on her safety and that she was leaving New York. She excluded the fact she stole from a vending machine and was passenger to a stolen military vehicle. It isn't smart to document your crimes. Right now, she depended on the driver getting them out of New York as fast as possible. Billie shoved her phone back into her pocket. She nervously glanced between the passengers, but kept most of her attention towards the radio up front or to Lex and June.

CRASH

Billie slammed her rock hammer against the vending machine breaking inside to the food vault. Shards of glass cut her hand pretty good, but the adrenaline rush fought through the pain. She began stuffing a tote bag with the snacks inside. She went for the granola bars first before stuffing it with chips and candy. Old habits die hard. Billie began questioning her own mind state. This was reasonable right? Is it completely reasonable to steal food with the unthinkable apocalypse crawling towards them? With a tote bag filled with food, she rushed towards the MRAP.

She crawled into the armored vehicle and buckled up from instinctively. She retrieved bandages from inside her backpack to cover the wounds on her hand. The hand would heal in time. It could have been much worse. Billie extended a hand towards June, who had been rather quiet since arriving to the museum, to help her up inside. "Glad you're speaking now. Looks like you've been shell shocked. Hey, need some food? I think you'll need it." She opened up her tote bag of snacks for June to peruse.

Billie rose from behind the counter after hearing the men had extra space in the vehicle. The stranger didn't look like military and offered to bring the museum survivors with him. The horde of zombies would be crashing at the museum's doorstep within a matter of minutes. "I'll take you up on that offer." Billie walked towards Flynn before stopping next to the vending machine. The military called for evacuation, but with everyone rushing towards the bridges, a traffic jam was sure to follow. Panic began to set in. Resources would be low. Everyone would need food.

This civilian, ex-military as he claimed, commandeered a military vehicle. Would it really matter if she broke the glass. It would take too much time to individually order each item. "Lex, I know you are here to protect the museum, but look outside. We are being asked to evacuate the city, and those things are going to be at the doorstep any moment. I don't think your boss will care about a broken vending machine." She didn't want to say the words. They should have enough time to break in the machine, bag up the food, and hop into the MRAP. Billie stared into Lex's eyes waiting for approval.
