I'mma go shoot myself, er somethin'.

I'd be interested in another PC coming across SJ for obvious reasons, if anyone's open to such. My thought for picking up with my next post would be that the boy's tumble out of the ventilation shaft into one of the service corridors on the lower level.
As an Anzat, the youngling normally breathed with such subtlety as to be neigh imperceptible, even with medical scanners. It could make people around him uncomfortable, for the notion that he didn't breathe. The fact that his heartbeat was likewise undetectable made it seem as though Sor-Jan was precisely the monster that the legends made his species out to be. Now, as he ran, the young boy was palpably aware of each breath, as it seemed to stick in his throat with a sensation of ice, as tension and anxiety squeezed every breath he took back out of his lungs. The luminous blue eyes were wide with terror, even as he plunged out into the mezzanine on the heels of his youngling clan. His training saber was in the grip of his left hand, because his right was holding fast to the Nautolan boy. And neither was willing to let go.

The sounds of blaster fire echoed through the halls, growing louder even as the pair of boys rushed headlong toward the sound, pushed onward by the hands of the Mon Calamari weapon master behind them. And then, they were there. Blue bolts of charged ions went searing through the air, most at eye level to the youngings, sending a series of terrified cries through the gathering of small ones as they were urged out into the corridor. The other weapon master was standing there, wielding two lightsabers as he moved to deflect the incoming rain of terror. As he turned his head, feeling the direction in which the crowd was being directed, Sor-Jan could see the Thisspiasian master out in front of the younglings, the bearded snake's yellow lightsaber weaving a golden thread through the air...

...as it cut apart men in white armor, their blood evaporating into a pinkish steam as their bodies were bisected by the Jedi's indiscriminate blade.

Sor-Jan gave a yelp as the panic overwhelmed him at the realization that people were dying. He had never seen death before. Not like this. Certainly not here, and yet, the nightmare was real. Tears slipped down the boy's face as he turned his head, and saw the Zabrak youngling - a kid his age, from his clan - lying still on the floor, a smoking hole burned in between his shoulder blades. He saw an armored man separated into three pieces, before being violently cast aside by the Thisspiasian's incessant press forward. The child's breath shuddered then, as his mind was slow in comprehending what it had just witnessed. Defenders of life, protectors of liberty, sentries of democracy were all very heroic ideals... cast now into bloodshed and violence, things he would have attributed to evil but committed by the Jedi he loved the most.

He didn't understand. As he looked around, as he struggled in the midst of surroundings intimately familiar, his home, yearning, desperate for anything familiar he could hold onto, the youngling was overwhelmed by the singular realization that he understood nothing. And, as his mind reeled in lack of comprehension for the sight of things mirrored in his eyes, Sor-Jan realized... he didn't want to understand.

From all sides, the youngling was overcome by waves resonating through the Force like an explosion, pummeling his body as though being assaulted by a hundred fists at once. Numbly, the child could see in his mind the weapon master being struck down as the hail of blaster fire overwhelmed the Jedi. Zak, the Nautolan tightened his grip on Sor-Jan's hand, as though fearful that the Anzati was letting go. The sensation bolstered something within the youngling, as the raven-haired youth raised his head back up, catching his breath as he continued to push his body to keep going at the maddening pace set by the serpent-like Sentinel up ahead.

A series of tremors tore through the temple, noticeably more violent than those he had felt before. Azul Gol just stopped, the younglings skidding to a halt behind their master, as the bearded snake seemed to peer upward as though gazing somewhere beyond the ceiling. That was the first time that Sor-Jan had realized how few of them now were, as fully half of his clan was missing.

No, not missing. They were back there. Like the Zabrak boy that he had seen.

"Azul, we cannot stay here!" the Mon Cal weapon master shouted hoarsely, as the orange-skinned amphibian moved in a blur of motion and energy, deflecting blaster bolts back toward their attackers behind them.

"The hangars... they're gone," the Thisspiasian was heard to whisper, as he turned his attention back to the corridor before them, as more of the white armored soldiers poured out into the hallway before them. Blasters to the left of them. Blasters to the right. The Thisspiasian coiled his body tightly as he seemed torn between the right course of action, until there was no more time for meditation. "We stand. We fight. FOR THE REPUBLIC!"

With that, the serpent launched himself at the encroaching soldiers before them. Gone, in a moment, leaving Sor-Jan and Zak bewildered as blaster bolts began sailing by from both sides. Reluctantly, the boys let go of one another, taking up positions with one behind the other, back-to-back, lightsabers ready. It was as thought this was what they had been training for...

...but really, what had they been training for? Certainly not this.

Pulling his training saber into a tight orbit, the youngling felt himself lifted up by the force of impact as the blaster bolt connected with his blade. A shot from behind him strayed too close, splitting open the shoulder seam of his tunic as he felt a searing pain run down his arm. Squealing, in pain and in terror, the boy staggered to his right. But there was no stopping them. No time out. No second chances. All around him, the people he had thought of as brother and sister were falling down under the rain of blue blaster bolts. And that was when Sor-Jan had an epiphany, a single moment of clarity where he felt as though he were one with the Force.
And a voice whispered inside his mind and said, I'm going to die now.

But it was all right. Somehow, the youngling was at peace. As though he were waiting for it to happen, or even wanting it to.
Behind him, the Mon Cal weapon master pivoted around on one foot, holding out his free hand toward the two remaining younglings - the Anzati and the Nautolan boy. With the simplest of applications, the Jedi instructor lifted both boys into the air and flung them into a ventilation grate. As the grate gave, the younglings tumbled down into darkness, with only a single word spoken.

"Live."
Threw my hat into the sheets thread.

Red 5, standing by. :)

Name: BB-4001A
Aliases:: BB, Scorpius (on-line slicer persona), Colyn Pendago
Species: LeisureMech BB series Human Replica Droid (HRD), masculine persona
Age: 15 years
Planet of Origin/Birth: Corporate Sector (constructed), Alderaan (first activated)
Force Sensitive Y/N: No.

Appearance:
A pre-teenaged human male who stands precisely 4'7" and possesses the sturdy build of a physically active child, with a body weight of 90 pounds. Its current synthskin covering is a dark flesh tone, beneath which is an artificial padding designed to mimic muscle or fat on an actual human body. His actual skeleton and interior plating is a lightweight metal alloy that is somewhat blue in color. Lubrication fluid between the skin and padding layers gives the appearance of bleeding whenever the synthskin layer is compromised, but a close inspection would reveal that the viscous liquid is more of a burgundy or red-plum color than the deep red associated with human blood. The synthetic fibers of his hair are mahogany brown and coarse in texture, typically flared out from his head in a style known as an 'afro'. His eyes are made from cloned organic matter intended for use in human organ replacement surgery, cybernetically augmented so to be able to connect and interface with his droid brain. The irises are brown in color.

Skills/Abilities:
* Slicer: Cryptographic data handling, encryption/decryption, memory recovery, and data manipulation.
* Maintenance/Tech Knowledge: Computer architecture, droid repair, general mechanical knowledge.
* Piloting: Corellian Engineering Corporation light craft.
* Droid Brain: Fluent in 3 million forms of communication, high reaction time, total recall.
* Droid Body: Sturdier and stronger than a human.

Equipment:
* Remote slicer (internal anatomy, includes commlink functionality)
*] Custom slicer chips, datacards, and various tech tools.
* Modified Versafunction88 datapad.
* Ion pistol.
* DC-15S blaster carbine.
* Salvaged G2-M9 maintenance droid ("Gee").
* The Wyvern (CEC YV-666 light freighter).

Personality:
It is important to distinguish "BB" from "Colyn" when considering BB-4001A's personality. Colyn was a child android HRD designed to be nothing more, and nothing less, than a beloved addition to the Pendago family. As such, BB-4001A's personality was neigh indistinguishable from that of a child in a stable family environment; that is, happy, outgoing, and well-adjusted. With only fragmentary memories of his life as "Colyn", the droid that BB-4001A is now is none of those things. "BB" is cold, jaded, and disillusioned toward galactic society. He views the Galactic Empire as an autocratic dictatorship and sees the Alliance to Restore the Republic as an effort to install another elitist power structure which would liberate some and persecute others. He doesn't take a lot of contracts as "Scorpius," typically only applying himself to jobs which either interest him or are otherwise necessary to pay a debt.

History:
Having been built as a custom order, it is first necessary to understand why someone would ask to construct a child android. Folken and Liadrin Pendago were a wealthy and affluent couple on Alderaan, with Folken having come from a fairly well-to-do merchant family and Liadrin being an heiress to a fortune amassed by her family's work in founding a medical corporation. The couple were looking forward to conceiving their first child when a sky swoop accident in 19 BBY left Liadrin paralyzed and unable to bear children. Retreating away from society in depression, Liadrin became a recluse and Folken felt as though his marriage may be irreparably damaged by the series of unfortunate events. Not surrendering his appeals to maintain Liadrin's spirits, Folken commissioned LeisureMech Enterprises to build a custom order class 3 android based on their BB-4000 series human replica droid. His specification was for a child android that could serve as a companion to his estranged wife.

Construction of the custom model, which was designated as BB-4001A, began in 17 BBY at the LeisureMech foundries in the Corporate Sector, with the finished HRD being brought on-line for the first time in the Pendago family home on Alderaan to the belief that it's name was Colyn Pendago. Colyn made an awkward entrance into the lives of the stuggling Pendago family, but came to be viewed as a valued and beloved family member. He stayed by Liadrin Pendago's side without complaint, saw to her every need, and provided her with an emotional support that filled a gap in the Pendago household. Sadly, that changed just 5 years later, in 12 BBY. The Pendago's were returning from a vacation on Coruscant when their starcruiser ran afoul of an Imperial blockade that was then engaged in a fight with a Rebel blockade runner. The Pendago's ship became entangled in the crossfire between the two and Colyn found himself thrown out into the vacuum of space shortly before the Pendago's ship was destroyed.

And so he drifted. Days, weeks, perhaps longer, his droid systems on the verge of failure, when he was salvaged by a Tynnan junker who was startled at the discovery of such a human-like droid. Fitted with a restraining bolt and his memory wiped, BB-4001A eventually made his way out to Nar Shadda, where he was sold to the Hutts as a curiosity for his child-like appearance. He was lost in a bet shortly after, at which time he became the property of a Kushiban bounty hunter named Max, who saw potential in the HRD and had him modified into a slicer droid. For the next seven years, BB-4001A worked as a slave for Max, slicing networks across the rim in pursuit of bounties. Max had grown arrogant however, and on job had crossed one of the Hutts in a deal. That private little war came back to haunt the Kushiban, and BB-4001A was able to escape when mercenaries arrived to collect Max's head.

It wasn't until that first bit of freedom that BB-4001A even realized it had a life that it knew nothing about, as the removal of his own restraining bolt triggered a fragmentary recall of what seemed like the memories of a different BB-4001A entirely. Slicing his own memory, BB has been able to partially reconstruct some of the data from his life as Colyn Pendago, but no more than one might recall of a dream. Going into work for himself in the slums of Nar Shadda, BB began work completing droid repair, at which time he was able to salvage an abused G2 repair droid as an assistant. Life on Nar Shadda is hard and BB eventually learned to be hard as well, acquiring and repairing a broken DC-15S carbine for what was often dubbed a 'Nar Shadda home security program.' Eventually, his past work with Max and possession by the Hutts came back to haunt him as well. Pressed into work as a slicer, BB began to build a name for himself on the Holo-Nets as "Scorpius." While the work was far riskier than droid maintenance, it also paid more lucratively. BB purchased a Corellian light freighter, which he dubbed the Wyvern, and left Nar Shadda.

With only droids aboard the Wyvern, the ship is considered something of a ghost. There is no autochef on board the ship and life support is kept at a functional minimum, so not to waste power where human comfort is not a factor. When not employed under contract, BB avoids inhabited systems, arriving intermittently at way stations only to refuel and depart, never in any one place for more time than it takes to link into the Nets and download or transmit data. Typically, Scorpius can be found on the Holo-Nets discussing the controversial Droid Equality Movement.

Recently, the Wyvern arrived in the Tengaru System, having offered a bid on some counter-intelligence work that offered what seemed an interesting glimpse into the battle between the Empire and the Rebellion. After all, while he cannot remember what happened on that starcruiser years ago, he cannot forget either.

Relationships and Acquaintances:
BB, as Scorpius, has previously done work for Daiya T'aemin, being the one who sliced into the home security networks of the individual known as Phelan.
I'm off to sleep, but will get another post tomorrow.
I know he's mentioned in the backstory as a Thor villain, but I think I've crafted this with a wide enough net as to accomplish my story goals and what you might need from him, Henry. But, I await the calls for edits (or being burned at the stake, whichever occurs first).

Player Name:
Bounce

Character:
Loki Odinson (Laufeyson)

Power and Abilities:
Despite being a Frost Giant by birth, perhaps through the spells of Frigga or the machinations of Odin, Loki’s abilities more closely resemble those of an Asgardian. Loki’s body tissue is three times denser than that of a mortal, making him several hundred pounds heavier than he appears despite his small stature, while also being extremely durable, providing him with superhuman stamina and endurance. This also contributes to his strength, which is superior to that of a mortal man’s while being less than that of his “brother”, Thor. Loki is also able to regenerate damaged tissue, provided that he is not so severely injured as to be fatal (he is immortal, not invulnerable). Loki is immune to all known diseases and infections on Midgard, and speaks in the All-Tongue – the language of Asgard, which all men hear as their own language.

Despite his obvious physical advantages, Loki is primarily a sorcerer. It is possible that his understanding of the mystica arcana could rival that of Stephen Strange, but Loki knows that, through the Cycle of Ragnarok, he has likely forgotten more than he will ever remember knowing. The range of abilities that Loki displays include the casting of fully tactile, even self-aware illusions, telekinesis, extra-sensory perception, psychometry, reality manipulation, access to the Astral Plane, and the crafting of spells (typically scrolls).

Two known limitations of his power are that Loki is weaker on Midgard than on Asgard, owing to his birth was not of Gaea, and he can neither read people’s thoughts nor control their actions.

Affiliation:
Asgardian Pantheon

Alignment:
Walking the Line (Chaotic Good).

Character Notes:
While this version of the character is intended to be Kid Loki, he uses his powers of illusion to appear to be an adult version of himself. He may even appear female, if he feels that such would be to his advantage in manipulating the situation.

NPCs of Note: Leah, Handmaiden of Sif; Thori, Ikol

Background and Story So Far:
What if saving everything you hold dear meant having to let it burn? To be the hand that lit the flame? Would you sacrifice yourself for those you love, if the price of saving them meant that you would become the object of their immortal hatred? You see, this is a story of a time long, long ago. A tale of heroes. A tale of villains. A story with many parts, and one very important lesson.

Everything that has a beginning, has an end.

I am Loki, whose whim brought Asgard crashing down. I am Loki, whose tongue was an anvil where the sharpest lies were forged. I am Loki, and I have things to say that you must know. I am Loki, who you must not trust.

It is impossible to know where Loki’s story begins. This is not the first Loki, nor will it be the last. He has lived before and will do so again, when this body he occupies now has fallen. And it will fall, because that is his purpose. Loki will kill Balder. Heimdall will kill Loki. The AEsir will fall. The World Tree will break apart in waters that will send a deluge through all the nine realms.

And then the waters will recede. Two on each realm will survive, to repopulate the world. Old friends will meet again. And the Cycle... And the story will continue.

What makes Loki unique among the Asgardians is that he is aware of the Story and so very aware of his place in it. It is not the part that he would write for himself, and he has – at times – attempted to write a new chapter into the Story, so give himself a different role, each time to consequences most dire. No matter what he does, no matter who he loves, no matter what outcome... He is Loki. And that is his destiny and his destiny, alone.

In this current Story, as in many such before, he was born a weak and small Frost Giant, exposed to the elements by his father, Laufey, and left to die. Had this happened, perhaps the World Tree would be a better place, but that was not what was foretold. A war raged between Jotunheim and Asgard, a war which had brought Odin through the Bifrost to the frozen wastes to do battle, and it was there that the first mistake was made. Odin took pity on Loki, bringing him back to Asgard as a trophy, as hope for a future peace between Jotunheim and Asgard, and as his son.

The magic of Asgard transformed the Frost Giant infant into the likeness of a young Asgardian, the youngest of a pantheon of champions. The babe, left to die, now had a family, including two older brothers: Thor, God of Thunder, and Balder, the Brave. Often accompanying the Lady Sif, Loki became a companion to Thor and the Warrior’s Three. He became known for his mischief and trickery, playing with powers of illusion and the creation of games, which often only Loki could appreciate.

And then he met himself.

A magpie visited the Child-God in the night, leading him down into an ancient catacomb that held scrolls of stories Asgard had forgotten. And it was there, in one such scroll, that Loki found a message left for him by Loki – an echo of himself from a prior Ragnarok. This led to the second mistake. He could have destroyed the scroll. He should have destroyed the scroll. But he didn’t. He cast the scroll into magpie, giving form and life to the echo of his former self, which he called Ikol.

And Ikol told Loki many things, some of which are yet to be written, and many more of which the young god did not want to hear. But he needed to hear them, because he was Loki, and he would have a part to play in the Chapters to come.

Odin would fall into the Odinsleep, and Thor would be on Midgard. Balder would abdicate his responsibilities. And Loki? Loki would ascend to the throne of Asgard. A Frost Giant on the throne of Asgard. If the Warrior’s Three knew, Loki would find himself in a rather delicate predicament. But, Loki’s part was not yet done.

Because Thor was in trouble. Tides of darkness approached, the likes of which his brother would be unprepared to deal with. Unprepared, as he was now. Thor would become stronger. Loki would ensure that Thor became stronger, because Thor had a part to play, and Loki had to prepare him for it.

All it would cost Loki is a brother’s love.

But that was only the first of many sins. Necessary evils if the World Tree was to survive the next coming of Ragnarok. What did the poet say? All the world’s a stage and we, but players in’t.

Sample Post:
The young god stood at the edge of the world. A waterfall, picturesque and beautiful, rushed down what seemed as though a mountain, except there was no river below. Instead, the water seemed to vanish into a darkness where all the drops of water became stars. He was staring down into the branches of Yggdrasil, the World Tree which gave birth to the nine realms.

The raven-haired youth came here often, at least as of late. For what purpose, not even Loki could have said. He simply stared down into the star-lit branches beneath Asgard. Perhaps gathering his thoughts. Perhaps in hope of catching some glimpse of Midgard’s light, for the thought that he might be looking down as Thor was looking up. Perhaps because somewhere, out there, was the god of thunder. And that was someone Loki missed rather terribly.

All the more because he expected that Thor would be terribly upset when next they met. But, Loki needed Thor to be angry. Strength alone would not carry his brother through what was to come. And so Loki would take on all of Thor’s anger, all of Thor’s hate, and it was that which would give Thor a power even he could not imagine.

The sound of footsteps behind him caused him a momentary sense of anxiety. Anxious for what he had set in motion. None should know of his deeds, and yet... all would know. Because they must know. Everyone with a part to play, would have need to know the lies and truths of Loki. Looking over his shoulder, the boy found himself looking up at the one who was destined to kill him.

“What see you, Heimdall?” the boy asked, gesturing out over the ocean of stars.

“Thor emerges victorious,” the giant of a man rumbled in reply.

“My brother brings honor to Asgard,” Loki quipped, finding the words came easily even if the sincerity no longer sprang from his tongue. He was worried for Thor. And he was worried for Loki. “Your vision gives me comfort,” the boy added. An honest statement, rare as those may have become.

“I did not see you on the fortnight,” Heimdall countered, turning his eye down on the child-god. “Where is it you step where my sight cannot follow?”

“It is a parlor trick, nothing more,” the young god lied glibly, as he turned away and proceeded back toward the throne of Asgard. As he walked, he stretched out an arm, onto which a magpie landed. And whispered into his ear things which he didn’t want to hear.

Roster Picture:
Many thanks.

I thought your posts gave us a good set up and enjoyed Gat's post as well.
I assumed that to be the case, but I figure it's always best for storytelling if you know something about Jimmy and thus why the protagonist, or the reader, should care that Jimmy is dead.
Apologies for the heavy use of NPCs, but I thought it the best way to set up my youngling's introduction to the story.
