The ten minutes soon came. Liam stated that they should probably check into the Pokemon center, maybe Nurse Joy has parkas to use for going into the icy caves.
A few minutes after they boarded, the boat took off. the trip took ten minutes at the ferry's speed.
"The boat will leave soon, so we should hurry." Liam said recalling the psychic pokemon..
Liam called on Sherlock, who teleported them to Fuchsia City's Pokemon Center. From there they had to head south to reach the boat.
"Do you want to have Sherlock teleport us or should we just walk south?" Liam asked.
After a quick stop at the Pokemon Center, Liam was ready to go.
"If we go to Fuchsia there is a ferry that will take us to the Seafoam Islands, and from there we can catch a boat to Cinnabar. I would recommend we visit the part of the islands where wild pokemon are known to be." Liam suggested.
Liam went next. He readied a poke ball, however, a different Pokeball opened and Grimm the Duskull emerged.
"Dus due kull!" He said.
"You want to battle?" Liam asked. The Duskull shook in confirmation and floated out onto the stage as Sabrina's Alakazam took its place.
"Alakazam, use Light Screen." Sabrina commanded.
"Shadow Sneak!" Liam called. Alakazam put up a shield but, in the split second before Grimm got a super effective STAB move in before the buff.
"Alakazam, Shadow Ball." Sabrina called. Grimm took critical hit.
"Payback!" Liam called the physical attack was boosted from Grimm being hit, and was increased again due to Alakazam's weakness.
"Recover." Sabrina commanded.
"Shadow ball!" Liam cried. Grimm fired the ball of energy, but it did not reach Alakazam on time to hit before the healing. Grimm was in dire shape, due to the critical super effective hit from earlier. "Destiny Bond!" Grimm quickly made a connection to the psychic pokemon. Grimm was KO'd, and Destiny Bond made it a draw. Sabrina explained that in the event of a drawl the leader decides if the challenger gets the badge, and that Liam deserves the Marsh Badge.

A woman in a red outfit walked up and introduced herself as Sabrina, the gym leader. She also explained that Haunter was a friend of hers, and it enjoyed making people laugh. She then explained that in her gym, each trainer is allowed one pokemon and she inquired which would challenge her first.
