"What do you mean?" Liam inquired.

Once in town, Liam raced to the Pokemon Center. He told Joy that they found this Shinx injured at the exit of the cave coming toward Azalea Town. Joy carefully took the now unconscious Shinx from Liam and placed it on a gurney. A Chancey wheeled it into the OR. Joy thanked the boys for bringing it and followed the Chancey. As the light clicked on, Liam knew now that all they could do was wait. He was worried about the Shinx, as he was curious about the Absol's appearance and he wondered if the two were somehow related.

Liam sat his bag down on the ground and opened it. He shifted though the contents and found a pair of rubber gloves and some berries. He closed the bag and put it back on. He then slid his hands into the gloves. He carefully approached the Shinx with the berries in an outstretched hand. The Shinx cautiously sniffed the berries and then took one.
"It's OK Shinx." Liam said pleasantly. "I am going to take you to the Pokemon Center. He carefully picked the Pokemon up and supported it with the gloved hands. The Shinx wanted to protest, but it was too weak. "We should hurry." Liam added.

"Yeah, we should hurry though the cave." Liam agreed. With a few more minutes of walking, the exit to the cave was in sight. At the exit of the cave sat a Shinx.
"Shinx, the Flash Pokemon. The extension and contraction of its muscles generates electricity. It glows when in trouble. All of its fur dazzles if danger is sensed. It flees while the foe is momentarily blinded." Liam noted that this Shinx, was indeed glowing. "We need to get this Shinx to a Pokemon Center."

"I have heard that as well." Liam replied. "But every sighting of a Lapras has been on Friday." A horde of Zubat appeared. Liam called on his shiny Gastly. "Confuse Ray the one in the middle!" Liam called. Gastly sent out an odd wave though the air toward the Zubat. The middle one began to freak out and attacked one of the adjacent Zubat. Gastly managed to get all of the Zubat either confused or knocked out. Gastly was recalled and swapped with Cynder. Cynder finished the rest off with Flame Wheel.

"Nice catch." Liam commented. Soon enough, Union Cave came into view. Liam stepped inside.

Liam followed Shiranui out onto Route 32.

Liam went next. He sent Cynder out against Pidgey.

"Pidgey, quick Attack!" Falkner called.
"Smokescreen!" Liam replied. The Cyndaquil issued a jet of smoke that caused Pidgey to miss.
"Gust!" Falkner called. With a few flaps of the wings, the smoke was removed.
"Swift!" Liam replied. Pidgey was smacked with a flurry of stars.
"Arial Ace!" Falkner replied.
"Ember!" Liam called out. The bird smacked into Cynder, who then issued a small number of flames. The Pidgey fainted and was switched out for a Pidgeotto.

"Quick Attack!" Falkner called. with the priority move, Blaze activated. "Ember!" the improved flames hit the bird and burned it. An Arial Ace KO'd Cynder, who was swapped for Starly.
"Starly, Quick Attack!" Liam called.
"Arial Ace!" Falkner called. Pidgeotto smacked into the smaller bird, who as a result missed on their attack.
"Peck!" Liam called.
"Gust!" Falkner retaliated. The Pidgeotto made a wind to keep the smaller bird from reaching it.
"Peck!" Liam called.
"Steel Wing" Falkner replied. Starly was in a down spiral as it became enveloped in white light and evolved into Starvia.
"Staravia, the Starling Pokemon and the evolved form of Starly. They maintain huge flocks in forests and fields, although fierce scuffles break out between various flocks. "
"Now, Staravia, use Quick Attack!" Liam called. Staravia gained enough momentum and smacked into the dumbstruck bird, giving Liam the win and the Zepher Badge.
Liam turned to Shiranui "Well, now I say we go heal up and head toward Azela Town."
