"You will have to get by me."Trevor replied.He called on a Gastly. Liam replied with his own Gastly. The two duked it out into a draw. He next used a Zubat. Zubat KO'd Gastly, who was swapped for Cynder. Cynder won and Croconaw was sent out.

Croconaw, the Big Jaw Pokemon, and the evolved form of Totodile. Once it bites down, it won't let go until it loses its fangs. New fangs quickly grow into place. It always has 48 fangs in its mouth.,
Croconaw KO'd Cynder and Liam sent Butterfree out as his final Pokemon. After a long battle, Butterfree won with a sleep Powder, Silver Wing. Trevor told the two about a blast of pink energy that issued forth from Slowpoke Well the other day and only a powerful Pokemon could produce it. He was going to go catch it and he shoved by them.

Liam recalled Sherlock and asked Kurt if they could take the GS Ball to check this. Kurt handed over the ball. As the heroes started toward Ilex Forest, Trevor came out and stopped them. "Where are you losers going?"

"You don't say." Kurt replied intrigued. "Well, your Alakazams are welcome to try." Kurt replied. Liam went back to the Pokemon Center and retrieved Sherlock. He returned and called Sherlock out. He faced the ball and concentrated on it. Sherlock was having trouble with it and Liam had an idea. "Sherlock! Mega Evolve!" Liam called as he pressed the button on the Mega Ring. Sherlock entered his Mega form, it helped greatly on his concentration. Sherlock eventually had figured it out. "This ball, belongs to the shrine in the Ilex Forest. If it is taken there, it might open up." The Mega evolved psychic Pokemon explained telepathically to the three humans.

"It could be, but there is no way of knowing where that location would be." Kurt replied as he looked at the GS Ball out of the corner of his eye.

The next day, Liam went to see Shinx one more time, but it was gone. When the heroes went to get the appricorn balls, he noticed a strange looking Pokeball on a shelf and inquired about it. He said that it was the GS Ball. It was brought to him from the Orange Islands by a trainer. The odd thing is that it can not be transferred, nor does it seem to open. He has been working on for a few years, but he can't get anything done with it. He than hands over the Love Balls he made for him.

A Chansey brought the boys back their Pokemon and a key to a room they can use for the night. Liam thanked the Chansey as he took the keys and the Pokeballs.

"I have heard that she can be a cry baby." Liam added. "I wonder if it is true." Liam inquired.

When they arrived at the Pokemon Center, Liam gave Joy his Pokeballs. While she was gone, Shinx ran up and jumped into Liam's arms. "Hi Shinx, are you felling better?" Liam asked.
"Shinx!"
"That's good news."Liam said with a smile.

It was late so Liam suggested they should just go heal up at the Pokemon Center and get a room for the night.

"You took Falkner on first ,so I will take the honor this time." Liam replied. He took the green corner, while the gym leader, a young looking boy, Bugsy stood there. He said they would use three Pokemon each. He started with Spinarak. Liam called on Staravia.
"Spinarak, the String Spit Pokemon. It spins a web using fine--but durable--thread. It then waits patiently for prey to be trapped. It lies still in the same pose for days in its web."
The battle began.
"String shot!" Busy called. The Pokemon issued forth a sticky thread and tied Staravia's wings down to his sides, making him fall to the ground.
While Staravia made an attempt to get back on his feet, he got pelted by Poison Sting. Staravia managed to maneuver and use the poison sting to damage the bindings. After that, Staravia managed to burst free on his own. "Now Whirlwind!" Liam executed one of the exceedingly few ways a gym leader's active pokemon can change without being knocked out. Spinarak was switched for Metapod.
"Metapod, Harden!" Busy called.
"Peck!" Liam called. Method stiffened its body, and Staravia began jabbing the cocoon with its beak.
Metapod again hardened as Staravia showed off its new attack, Ariel Ace. It scored a critical hit, and KO'd Metapod. Metapod was swapped for Scyther.

"Scyther, The Mantis Pokemon. It tears and shreds prey and tall grass with its wickedly sharp scythes. It very rarely spreads its wings to fly. It can move too fast for the human eye to track."

Scyther was instructed to use Furry Cutter and KO'd Staravia. Liam swapped Staravia for Gastly.
"Scyther, Swords Dance!" Busy called.
"Hypnosis!" Liam called. Scyther increased its attack but was put to sleep. Scyther was still asleep and Gastly used curse. It lowered its health in cursed the sleeping Pokemon.
Scyther remained asleep as Gastly used Dream Eater to recover some health. The Curse then zapped Scyther. Scyther woke up and used Furry Cutter. and hit Gastly. Lastly then Licked Scyther, paralyzing it. The Curse then finished Scyther. Busy sent Spinarak back out. Spinarak got a lucky hit with Poison Sting and KO'd Gastly. Liam sent Cynder out.
"String Shot!" Busy called. The little bug cacooned Cinder up leaving only her head exposed. Cinder was made immobile. Spinarak began to pelt Cinder with Poison Sting, poisoning her in the process. Eventually, Blaze activated as Cinder briefly had a red aura surround her. Another Poison Sting hit and Cinder began to glow white. As she evolved, the bindings snapped free. and she evolved into a Quilava. Cynder used Flame Wheel and bowled into Spinarak, KO'ing it, giving Liam the win.

"Quilava, the Volcano Pokemon, and the evolved form of Cyndaquill. Before battle, it turns its back on its opponent to demonstrate how ferociously its fire blazes."

Busy praised Liam and his Pokemon and the great battle. He gave Liam the Hive Badge.
