I had a thought to run by you. I was thinking maybe Liam's dad, found a Blastonite and give it to him at the cup. Or should I just obtain it in Kalos? also will there be a distribution on Kanto starters when we go?
Liam hooked a Totodile. He battled it with Vaporeon. Liam's Pokemon managed to get lucky with an Ice Beam, allowing Totodile to be captured. Liam continued to fish. Liam had a big snag. When he got it ashore, it was a huge Sharpedo. Liam judged that it was maybe 1.25 times the size of a normal Sharpedo.
"Sharpedo, the Brutal Pokemon. Sharpedo can swim at speeds of up to 75 mph by jetting seawater out of its backside. This Pokémon's drawback is its inability to swim long distances. It is known as 'The Bully of the Sea'. "
Liam called on one of his non water types on him, Sylveon. With a combined use of Attract and Moonblast, Sharpedo was weakened enough to be caught in a Dive Ball. Liam had enough time to run to the center and get back before the boat's arrival and did so.

This allowed the Eevee to be used and Liam evolved it into a Vaporeon. Since there was still time till the ferry to the Whirl Islands arrived, Liam went to the docks to do some fishing. Liam wanted to get some more pokemon for the cup.
Out along the path, there was a rustling in the tall grass. An Eevee popped out. Liam engaged it in battle. Grimm used Hypnosis. He then managed to catch the sleeping Eevee with a critical capture in a Luxury Ball. The ball went to its shrunk form, since Liam's team was currently full. "That is a lucky break. Liam thought to himself.
"Well, we can catch a boat there from Olivne." Liam said. "Shall we head out?"
At the Center, Liam heard talk of a competition to start soon in the Whirl Islands, exclusive to water type Pokemon. Joy returned Liam's Pokemon to him after they were healed. Liam inquired to his friend if he was interested in entering it.
"Thank you sir." Liam said bowing toward his friend's father.
I would like to go to Kalos next. And how do you think I can go about getting a Protean Froakie? Since all starters given by the Professors have Overgrow/Blaze/Torrent?
"Congratulations dude." Liam said with a smile.
