"We should go check it out." Liam said as a couple Chansey brought the heroes their pokeballs. "By the way, remind me to call my mom before we head out for Blackthorn. She made me promise I would call from Just before going into the Ice Path."
"Well, I know it is a popular tourist attraction." Liam replied as he stretched. "Rumor has it that the lake has the highest population of wild Gyarados in the region, maybe the whole world."
Liam handed his Pokeballs to a Chancey at the Pokemon Center to be healed. He took a seat in a nice chair near some vending machines.
"Alright, now after we heal at the center, onto the Lake."
At the gym, a man with white hair was standing at the opposite side. He introduced himself as Pryce and asked who would go first. Liam said he would. Pryce said they would each use two Pokemon. Pryce sent out Dewgong.
"Dewgong, the Sea Lion Pokemon, and the evolved from of Seel. Dewgong loves to snooze on bitterly cold ice. The sight of this Pokémon sleeping on a glacier was mistakenly thought to be a mermaid by a mariner long ago."
"Go Riolu!" Liam called.
"Icy Wind!" Pryce called.
"Force Palm!" Liam commanded.
Riolu was hit with a bitterly cold wind before giving the Sea Lion a good smack.
"Ice Shard!" Pryce called. The priority STAB move hit.
"Bulk up!" Liam called. Riolu sat there and focused, increasing his attack and defense.
"Encore!" Pryce called. This forced Riolu to use bulk up for its next three turns, giving Pryce a good chance to KO it.
(Encore 1)
"Aurora Beam!" Pryce called. The attack hit critically and lowered the attack.
(Encore 2)
Pryce ordered another Aurora Beam. Riolu took the hit and his attack lowered again. Rioli was on worn out.
(Encore 3)
Pryce called for Sheer Cold, which failed.
"Reversal!" Liam called. The attack hit for massive damage, KO'ing Dewgong. Pryce sent out Mammoswine.
"Mammoswine, the Twin Tusk Pokemon. A frozen Mamoswine was dug from ice dating back 10,000 years. This Pokémon has been around a long, long, long time. Its impressive tusks are made of ice. The population thinned when it turned warm after the ice age." Liam recalled Riolu and sent out Vesuvius the Entei.
"So, you have captured the Legendary Entei huh?" Pryce inquired. "you must be quite the trainer to accomplish that. Mammoswine, Earthquake!" Mammoswine got a critical hit and did a good chunk of damage.
"Eruption!" Liam called Vesuvius' attack KO'd Mammoswine.
"I am impressed by your prowess. With your strong will, I know you will overcome all life's obstacles. You are worthy of this Glacier Badge!"
Liam handed Pryce for the badge.

"Alright." Liam said as the duo entered the town. At the Pokemon Center, Liam had his Pokemon healed. He then made final team adjustments.
"Great catch." Liam commented. "So, after the Pokemon Center, do you want to face the gym first or visit the Lake of Rage?"
Lapras made it to the other side and Liam got off. He gently stroked her head and thanked her for the ride. Once Shiranui got off, he recalled her to her ball.
