Liam's dad commented that it should take them no time if they go by air, and they would have plenty of time for training.
"So, you two got the badge yet?" Mr. Coleman asked.
"Yes, we did dad." Liam replied showing off the Rising Badge. "We are going to head off for Mt Silver in the morning."

Florence said something that would have been equivalent to 'thank you'. Soon after Liam's dad and his Alakazam entered and came to the table. He then greeted everyone as he sat down.
"Well, not entirely. It just isn't a real good idea for a little boy to walk around with pink hair." Liam then went on to explain he used a very special hair dye that used Bluk berries as the coloring agent. Every couple months he would sneak out of their room at the pokemon Center and his aunt/cousin in charge there helped him dye it. Soon after, Florence began bringing food out and placed the bowls on the table. The table had six chairs around it. Joy took one and Florence took one next to her's Liam left the next two, which is where his dad and his dad's Alakazam sat empty and took one of the final two chairs.
The three went back to Liam's place, where Florence was already working on supper. Liam told Shiranui about one time when he was five a trainer who met him the Pokemon Center. Joy told the trainer Liam was her son. The trainer said that being a boy born to a Joy was like being "'the shiny Pokemon of humans"
"Ah right!" Liam declared. Clair informed them that the tournament was to be at Mt. Silver, Southeast of town. She also theorized that Kaki could likely get them there in twenty minutes. Blackthorn's Joy, who was there to watch the battle insisted on making a meal for them before they left.
Clair and Joy entered the gym. Clair walked over to the challengers. She told them that it will be five pokemon each. She started with Gyarados. Liam called on Chansey.

"Dragon Dance!" Clair called.
"Thunder Punch!" Liam called back. Gyarados began fluid dance movements to increase its attack and speed. Chaney smacked an electrified fist into the serpent-like Pokemon, making it roar in pain.
"Rock Smash!" Clair called.
"Minimize Chansey!" Liam's quick thinking allowed Chansey to up its evasion and avoid a super effective hit.
"Dragon Pulse!" Clair called. Chansey took the attack and Liam called for Mimic, allowing Chansey to use Dragon Pulse until she retuned to her ball.
"Rock Smash!" Clair called again
"Thunderpunch!" Both attacks hit, and Gyarados succumbed to the electrified punch. Gyarados was swapped for Kingdra

"Soft-boiled!" Liam replied. While Kingdra set up a defense, Chansey healed up half of her health.
"Agility!" Clair called. Kingdra began to move faster ,to make hitting it much harder.
"Dragon Pulse!" Liam called. The attack was launched via Mimic. Kingdra evaded it.
"Toxic." Clair called. By doing so, she hoped to put a timer on how long Chansey would stay in the battle.Chansey was poisoned by the attack.
"Dazzling Gleam!" Liam called. the Fairy type move fired but missed.

"Now, Hydro Pump!" Clair called. The attack hit and was critical on Chancey. Liam asked for another Dazzling Gleam, which hit this time

"Twister!" Both trainers called in unison. the two attacks met in the middle of the arena and ripped one another apart.
"Dragon breath!" Clair called. the attack left Dragonair paralyzed. Dragonair was still able to use Dragon rush. Kingdra was KO'd and swapped for Clair's own Dragonair.

This battle of Dragonairs was fairly matched. It ended in a double KO via double Draco Meteor. Clair swapped out for Druddigon while Liam sent out Gible.
"Druddigon, the Cave Pokemon. It races through narrow caves, using its sharp claws to catch prey. The skin on its face is harder than a rock. It warms its body by absorbing sunlight with its wings. When its body temperature falls, it can no longer move."
Liam noted that her Pokemon was a rare muscular like Attrocitus and Sherlock.

"Gabite, the Cave Pokemon and the evolved form of Gible. It loves sparkly things. As it digs to expand its nest, it habitually digs up gems. It also seeks treasures in caves and hoards the loot in its nest."

"now, Disarming voice!" Liam called. The super effective attack did a great deal of damage to Dragonite.
"Now, Thunderpunch!" Iris called. Sylvan was paralyzed, but Cute Charm activated.
