Liam found an injured Fraokie sitting halfway in the water. He gently pulled it the rest of the way on the shore. He noticed a scrape on the left arm and pulled out a first aid kit. he bandaged up the Pokemon as a Gyarados emerged from the water in a rage. It prepared a Hyper Beam, but Liam grabbed the hurt Froakie and tuck and rolled out of the way.
"Anubus! Rats!" Liam's Riolu that he had transferred to him, as well as he newly captured Pokemon. "Anubis, Focus Blast! Ralts, Confusion!"The attacks hit and due to Anubis being trained as well as he was due to the month before the Silver Conference, The Gyarados was knocked back into the water, causing a brief rain to fall on the area. Froakie woke up and began acting hysterical. Rats calmed Froakie down by telepathically communicating what happened to it.

Due to an error in transferring rules between arcs of the series, a rule got lost. A starter given by a prof will always have the normal ability. It came to my attention when Ryan's Froakie had Protien. I will let it slide for him, because that was on me for not making sure. But no one else can have the hidden ability on the Pokemon they receive from the prof.

Liam noticed a pond along the route. He saw something sitting halfway in the water and went to investigate.

Liam continued the explanation. "Luxury Balls make the Pokemon more friendly. Net Balls are more effective on bug and water types, Nes Balls on ones that are weaker, and Heal Balls which completely restore the Pokemon caught in them. There are also Great and Ultra Balls. They are basically improved Pokeballs. They are rare, but there are also Master Balls. They are 100% guaranteed to catch a wild Pokemon.

A male Ralts wandered infant of the heroes.
"Ralts, the Feeling Pokemon. Ralts senses the emotions of people using the horns on its head. This Pokémon rarely appears before people. But when it does, it draws closer if it senses that the person has a positive disposition."

"I'll show you what to do." Liam said. He called on Scarlet.
"Ember!" Liam called. Scarlet spat small flames toward the little Pokemon. The flames hit Ralts, who retaliated with Confusion. Scarlet was hit critically. Liam ordered another Ember and burned Ralts. Ralts used Confusion and missed.
"Once you weaken a Pokemon, you throw a ball and try to catch it." Liam explained. He tossed a Luxary Ball at Ralts, who got sucked in. It shook three times and snapped shut.
"And that is all there is to it." Liam said as he reclaimed the ball.

"Well, lets go catch some Pokemon." Liam said.

Liam inquired on he location of the closet gym. Sycamore admitted that there was one in this town, but it is highly advised you have at least four badges before challenging it. He recommends heading south down Route 4 to Santalune City for the first badge. Liam decided that he and Shiranui needed to show these new trainers how to catch a Pokemon.
