Pokémon Hoenn: α and Ω

While prepping for the contest, Liam pulled out a pair of red swim trunks that had a black vertical stripe down each leg. On the right leg's stripe was the image of a Pokéball. Choosing to wear only that and the mega stone, which rarely left his wrist. He was going over his idea in his head while he had sun screen applied to himself by one of the center's many Chancey, as they were doing for all of the co-ordinators who signed up. Blissey were running the center while the center's Joy was preparing for the contest as well.

(Everyone is assumed to be on the boat, we need to move on.)
The boat set sail and after aprox ten minutes, arrived at Slateport's beach. At the Pokémon Center, Liam overheard on the TV that a minor earthquake had happened in Vendenturff, delaying its contest. So, Slatepot's was pushed forward and it would be out on the beach. Entry into the contest would be at Slateport's Pokémon Center. When Joy returned, he registered for the contest, after contacting Prof Oak to make sure he had the Pokémon he wanted to use for it.

Liam stepped up onto the boat and waited for the others to arrive.

"Well, let's go then." Liam stated.

"Well, let's go to Slateport." Liam said. Mr Briney was standing by to use his boat to go to Slateport.

"Well, we all have the badge now." Liam stated. He was looking a book that had all of the tentative dates and locations of contests. He stated that there will be one in Dewford, but there will be other contests first, and it would be best for them to move on and come back for this one. Mauvile and Vedernturf both have ones coming soon.

Liam was impressed. He thought to himself that Mankey would be a dangerous opponent that he may have to face at some point. That being said, he thought that maybe Mankey would benefit from meeting some of Liam's fighting types.

Liam thanked Khuda for the applause, but was also a little surprised as he wasn't expecting it. Gallade wanted to remind her that Liam had at this point a total of twenty-eight badges across all four regions he had visited. Not to mention that every region tournament he had fought in he made first or second place. But another thought had gone through Gallade's mind. He wondered how long Liam would wait to use Mega Evolution on a contest appeal. It could lend itself very well to the appeal if done correctly. In the end, Gallade kept both thoughts to himself.

All of the Pokémon were healed and returned to their trainers. The group went to the gym. There was a note on the door reading "Gone Surfing". As Liam approached and read the sign, a man with teal hair and accompanied by a Hariyama approached. "Ah, challengers. I guess we came back just on time. I'm Brawly, Dewford's gym leader. He led the group inside. and asked who would go first. Liam stepped forward. The official gave the usual jargon about how only the challenger can substitute pokémon, and that in this instance each trainer is only permitted two Pokémon. Brawl sent out Machop. Liam called on Pidgey.
"Focus Energy!" Brawly called.
"Gust!" Liam called. The burst of wind pushed the Superpower Pokémon back.
"Smack Down!" Brawly called. The attack hit Pidgey hard. Pidgey hit the ground.
Pidgey got back up and showed off a move that it must have inherited, Brave Bird. This surprised the Machop, and allowed Pidgey the needed chance to get back up.
"Ice Punch!" Brawly called.
Pidgey was hit. Pidgey stood back up and gave one final gust, defeating Machop. Pidgey became cloaked in white light and evolved into Pidgeotto. Liam recalled the bird to rest after Hariyama was called out by the leader, Gallade came out.
"Psycho Cut!" Liam called. The attack was a critical and KO'd Hairyama. Brawly commented that no one had ever taken Hairyama out that fast before and awarded Liam the Knuckle Badge. Liam thanked Brawly and took a seat on the stands so that the next one could face the leader. Meanwhile, he was trying to decide on future contest routines.
