"Begin!" Vivian called. Liam snapped his fingers and called out "Double Team!" Multiple Jiriyas leapt from the shadows.

Jiriya out performed a Loudred in his first round, and then out preformed a Skarmory in his other.

The lights turned on the center stage. Vivian was standing Center stage.
"Welcome to To Verdenturf Contest!" Vivian announced. A roar of cheers and applause erupted from the audience. Once it died down, she continued. "The winner of today's contest will win the illustrious Verdenturf Ribbon!" she called as she held it up. The audience cheered again. "As usual, we have our three lovely judges! The head of the Pokémon Contest Committee, Mr. Contesta!"
"What a lovely day for a Contest. I want everyone to do their best."
"The President of the Pokémon Fan Club,Mr. Sukizo!"
"Verdenturf town is Remarkable!
"And last, but not least, our third and final judge today is Verdenturf Town's very own,[color=ec008c] [/color]Nurse Joy!!
"Let's all have fun today!" Joy said with her always cheerful smile.

Our 32 contestants will begin their appeals, and the top eight will advance to the next round. With that said, let's begin with Contestant #1, from Blackthorn City, Johto 'Dragon Master' Liam Coleman!"

The crowd cheered at the famous name. Liam ran out and tossed the ball into the air, Jiriaya! Show your stuff!" The Greninja emerged. "Start off with Double Team!" Liam called. Jiriaya did a complex set of hand gestures and a copy of himself appeared. "Gunk Shot into Water Shrunken and Ice Beam!!" Jiriya conjured the Water Shurkien with one hand and the Gunk Shot in the other. He slammed it into the whole and thrusted it into the air. The Ice Beam was fired and froze the attack. All the while, the duplicate was mirroring the same moves. Both frozen Shurikens were grabbed by the respective Jiriyas and tossed at the other. "Now, Cut!" Liam called. The both launched forward to attack. They and the frozen attacks all met center stage. When the dust settled, all that remained was a substitute. Vivian and the judges looked around confused. Jiriaya leapt from an empty seat in the middle of the audience and made a "ta-da" like gesture.

"Kalos certainly is home to some unique Pokémon."
"Greninja is remarkable!"
"That was an amazing display of a Greninja's fast footwork."

Pidgeot landed and Liam disembarked before recalling the bird to the ball. He stepped inside and registered for the contest.

Soon enough, the heroes were in Verdenturf Town. Liam checked into the Pokémon Center. After they were healed, Liam pulled out his Mach Bike and sped through the tunnel. Once back in Rustborro, Liam got a new fishing rod as well as an anklet for Pidgeot that had a space to hold a Mega Stone. He put it on Pidgeot and returned to Verdenurf by flying in Pidgeot. Liam went and registered for the contest.

"And Once it is a Lombre, you can use a Water Stone to evolve it into a Ludicollo." Liam explained holding up the stone in question.

:Liam had popped open the umbrella before the rain started. "Yes, this is swift swim. As a side note, Swift Swim can also be activated by things that technically are not rain. Let's say that a Kingler is battling Lotad. Kindler tries to smack Lotad with its pincher, but misses and splashes water into the air. While it is falling, Swift Swim will work, even though technically that isn't rain."
