"You can do it son." Liam's mother said with the smile that all Joys seem to wear when they aren't mad. Looker, who took a seat down with Liam's parents and Shiranui gave Liam a thumbs up.
"Aerodactyl!" Steven called
"Jiriya!" Liam's Greninja took his spot on the stage.

"Now Thunder Fang!" Steven replied.
"Substitute!" Liam called.
"Speed up and get there first with Tailwind!" Aerodactyl sped up and drove its teeth into Jiriya, giving him a bad shock and KO'ing him.
"Jiriya! No!" Liam cried. Liam recalled Jiriya and next called on Scarlet the Delphox.

"Sunny Day!" Liam called. The sunlight grew intense. Aerodactyl used Rock Slide, which Scarlet evaded by using confusion to throw them back at Aerodactyl, who smashed them with Iron Tail.

"Solar Beam!" Liam ordered. The power grass move instantly fired and hit Aerodactyl square in the chest, KO'ing it. Steven next sent out Aggron.

"Blast Burn!" Liam called. The most powerful fire move, amped up by the sun's rays rocketed across the arena and made a direct critical hit. Aggron survived due to Sturdy.
"Sandstorm!" Steven called. the sun was swapped from a sandstorm and Scarlet took some damage.

Scarlet had to recharge and was hit by Earthquake, dealing major damage.

Being hit by the sandstorm, made Scarlet become envloped in a red light for a moment, which than faded. Blaze activated. "Fire Blast, straight up!" Liam called. The sand surrounding them was was burnt up, effectively ending the sandstorm.
"Very clever." Steven said. "But this is where your Delphox falls." He turned to Aggron, "Earthquake!"
"Flamethrower!" Liam called. The jet of fire and the quake connected in unison, causing another double knockout. The Pokémon were recalled.
"I'm truly impressed with the skills you have shown here today Mr. Coleman." Steven said. He grabbed his final Pokéball. "But, this is where it ends." He tossed the ball and a shiny Metagross emerged.
"Goodra!" Liam called.

"Dragon Tail!" Liam ordered. Both attacks hit, since Steven only had one Pokémon left, there was obviously no switch. Steen smirked as he pressed his keystone on his lapel and Metagross Mega Evolved.

"Hyper Beam!" Steven called.
"Dragon Pulse!" Liam said.
The attacks negated one another in center stage.
"Flamethrower!" Liam called. A jet of fire licked Metagross while it recharged.
"Metor Mash!" Steven called.
"Iron Tail!" Liam called. Goodra blocked Metagross' signature move with Iron Tail.
The battle continued on with no clear winner for several minutes, though both Metagross and Goodra were getting tired. Everyone was so focused on the battle they did not notice two small cube falling from the air, as if thrown from the stands toward the battling Pokémon, and another two from the air. The cubes hit and each of the battlers was encased in an energy cube. Cackling came from stands as two figures leapt to the arena floor, while two people and a Meowth leapt down from a hot air balloon. Liam recognized the ones from the balloon as a couple of Rockets. He saw the other duo had a capital red "R" on their uniforms as well.
"What are you three doing here!?" One of the other duo asked.
"I could ask you the same thing!" Jessie fired back.
Liam cleared his throat. "Is our CHAMPIONSHIP BATTLE interrupting?" The four looked at him and told him to pipe down. Both duos began to do their own mottos, but they kept inerrupting the other.
"A Champion wannabe should be prepared for trouble"
"The Champion himself should make it double."
"To infect the world with devastation."
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To blight all peoples in every nation."
"To unite all people in our nation."

The Rocket duos began to squabble amongst themselves over who go to take them to the boss.
"How about neither of you!" Liam's father yelled. "Alakazam! Break those cages open with Psychic!" He called as he tossed a ball out.
"Florence help Alakazam with Focus Blast!" James and Cassidy both tossed a cube at one of them, Cassidy hitng Alakazam and James hitting Florence. One was also tossed toward Numeru.
During the scuffle, Meowth used slash to rip the key stone from Steven's lapel, so hat they would give their boss mega evolution.
It was time for the final match in the Champion League. Liam took one box while Steven stood in the other.
"Welcome, ‘Dragon Master’ Coleman. I was hoping I would get to see you make it here one day. Tell me… What have you seen on your journey with your Pokémon? What have you felt, meeting so many other Trainers out there? Traveling this rich land of Hoenn… Has it awoken something inside you? I want you to come at me with all that you've learned. “Toxic!” Steven ordered. Hitmonchan was badly poisoned, but landed the attack on Skarmory.

“Fire Punch again!” Liam called. Skarmory began to say in the air. “Mach Punch the ground!” Liam called. Hitmonchan used the momentum to reach up and grab Skarmory, slamming the fiery fist into Skarmory’s back.

“Skarmory, Aerial Ace!” Skarmory brushed Hitmonchan off and charged in to make the move.
“Finish it with one last Fire Punch!” this time it burned Skarmory, though it survived. Aerial Ace was critical, and the Toxic finished Hitmonchan off. Liam next called on Jiriya.

Liam participated in and won the first and second ever Dragon Cup in Blackthorn City, having teleported home for it with his shiny Alakazam, Sherlock. He has also mastered the Battle Chateau in Kalos. Liam was the runner up in Hoenn's Grand Festival, and won The Evergrande Conference. Liam went on to fight and defeat Hoenn's Elite and Champion

* If they are a returning character, they are now one year older.
*Non-lengenday Pokemon that there are one of: such as the Red Gyarados are divided up in the same manner as legends.
* It is implied that you have an adequate supply of poke balls, potions, etc, but Master Balls are still rare. You typically will only receive them from where you get them in the games appropriate to the region.
* no controlling another player's trainer, or their Pokemon.
* Pokemon have to be found in a logical local: i.e. Gyarados will not be in a volcano
* Unova Pokemon are found only in Unova and Kalos, Kalos Pokemon are only in Kalos. An exception to this, would be (upon approval) receiving an egg of it through some means.
* The Players hometown may be from any game or a named Island of the Orange Islands where there was a human population (or if the location had a human population in the anime, like the Seafoam Islands did.)
* As for legendaries: Until we go to their region they can not be claimed. You must request them, who catches which legends will be determined via lottery.

It was time for the next match. Liam was facing Drake. This was a match up that had happened in the Dragon Cup. "Hello, 'Dragon Master'" Drake began. "In their natural state, Pokémon are wild living things. They are free. At times, they hinder us. At times, they help us. For us to battle alongside Pokémon as partners, do you know what it takes? Do you know what is needed?"

"Sludge Wave!" Drake called.
"Use Gunk Shot!" Liam called. He minimized the damage, and negated the chance of sludge wave poisoning him, but gained no other edge from this round.
"Spikes!" Liam called. a set of spikes scattered on Drake's side of the field. Drake called for Dragon Pulse, which did a fair amount of damage. Liam called for another layer of spikes. This time Drake called out Hydro Pump. Jiriya was on his last leg. Liam called out for Blizzard, which finished Dragalge off, Drake next called on Kingdra, who took some damage from the Spikes.

Sylveon used Fairy Wind, doing a good deal of damage to Kingdra. Drake ordered for Kingdra to use Yawn.
"Push it back with Iron Tail!" Liam called. The ribbons on Sylveon began to glow white as the bubble was knocked back into Kingdra's face. Kingdra fired Hydro Pump and Sylveon used Draining Kiss. It hurt Kingdra badly who than went to sleep. Liam called Sylveon back and called on Grimm.

"Moonblast!" Liam called. the blast of pink energy barraled toward the dragon and hit it in the gut. Haxorus used Iron Tail and got a direct hit on Sylveon.
(Gravity subsided)
"Draining Kiss!" Liam called. Sylveon's ribbons wrapped around the dragon's head and pulled it down to Sylveon, who than planted a big wet kiss on it, draining a good chunk of health. Poison zapped a bit more of Haxorus' health away. Liam sent Grimm back out, and Grimm was hit by Poison Jab. Haxorus just barely survived the poison.

Drake made a comment about expecting no less from a "Dragon Master", but this was still going to be when Liam fell. He activated Mega Evolution and used Zen Headbutt.
"Protect!" Liam called the green shield saved Sylveon from the move.

"Thunder Fang!" Drake called.
"Draining Kiss!" Liam replied. As Salamance charged in with an electrified jaw, Sylveon used the chance to kiss the dragon, taking about as much healing as it did damage.

Salamance was on it's last leg and used Crunch. Sylveon threw a Shadow Ball in its face, KO'ing it.
"Superb, it should be said." Drake commented. You deserve every credit for coming this far as a Pokémon Trainer. You do seem to know what is needed. Yes, what a Trainer needs is a true and virtuous heart. It is through their contact with Trainers that Pokémon learn right from wrong. The influence of their Trainers' good hearts helps them grow strong!"
"Go! Go onward 'Dragon Master'! The Champion is waiting!" Liam got his Pokémon healed and had them all out along the sidelines, giving them a pep talk before Steven got there for the battle.

"Draco Meteor!" Liam called. The most powerful Dragon move rained down on Altaria and KO'd it. Next, Drake sent out Dragalge.

Dragalge used Dragon Pulse. Goodra was in poor shape. "Draco Meteor!" Liam called. A weaker version of his last attack was fired and hit the poison/dragon. Sludge Wave finished Goodra off. Liam switched Goodra for Jiriya.

"Water Shuriken!" Liam ordered, The move hit four times. Drake called for a Thunderbolt.
"Dodge with Agility!" Liam ordered. Jiriya began acrobatic manuvers to avoid the crashing bolt of electricity.
"Sludge Wave!" Drake called.
"Use Gunk Shot!" Liam called. He minimized the damage, and negated the chance of sludge wave poisoning him, but gained no other edge from this round.
"Spikes!" Liam called. a set of spikes scattered on Drake's side of the field. Drake called for Dragon Pulse, which did a fair amount of damage. Liam called for another layer of spikes. This time Drake called out Hydro Pump. Jiriya was on his last leg. Liam called out for Blizzard, which finished Dragalge off, Drake next called on Kingdra, who took some damage from the Spikes.

"Push it back with Iron Tail!" Liam called. The ribbons on Sylveon began to glow white as the bubble was knocked back into Kingdra's face. Kingdra fired Hydro Pump and Sylveon used Draining Kiss. It hurt Kingdra badly who than went to sleep. Liam called Sylveon back and called on Grimm.

Scarlet was hit and took moderate damage.
