Bio: Axel was an ordinary teen. His life was altered on a fateful day when a wrong turn landed him in the middle of a brawl between Danny and a tag team of Skulker and the Box Ghost. After one too many box puns, his alliance with Skulker was dissolved. The BG turned intangible to avoid attacks from both Danny and Skulker, making them both hit an innocent bystander (i.e. Axel). As such, he personally holds a grudge against BG, citing him as the primary cause of his accident.

The Cubone stopped what she was doing and looked at Aura. Liam took this as his moment to yank the extra bone away to give to the other Cubone. The first one, upon realizing she was tricked, chucked her original one to use Bonemerang on Liam. Goodra jumped out of his ball and grabbed the bone before it reached his trainer's head and chucked it right back, making it hit the skull Cubone wears. Liam handed the bone to the rightful owner, who then charged the other. During the brawl of the Cubones, both evolved. However, it was not the Marrowak Liam knew.

"Marrowak, Alolan Form. The Bonekeeper Pokémon. A Fire and Ghost-type, and the evolved form of Cubone. The bones it possesses were once its mother’s. Its mother’s regrets have become like a vengeful spirit protecting this Pokémon. When it beats opponents with its bone, the cursed flames spread to them. No amount of water will stop those flames from burning."

The Marrowak began to fight one another even harder after the evolution. The battle ended when the one, whose bone was previously stolen used Bone Rush, KO'ing the other. He did a celebratory dance that had a tribal feel to it. The Marrowak walked over to a small, nearby mound of dirt and quietly murmured about something. It then raised the bone to Liam and made a "come at me" gesture.
"So, Alolan Marrowak is a ghost huh? Well, let's make this a battle of spooks, Bastille it's time to shine!" Liam tossed a Luxury Ball as his shiny Sandygast emerged.
Bastille used Shadow Ball, which Marrowak knocked away in a way reminiscent of a baseball player. Marowak tossed a bone-shaped shadow at Bastille, which seemed to deal a good deal of damage. Liam had no clue what that move was but called for Bastille to use Astonish.
Marrowak retaliated with Brutal Swing, getting another good hit in. Bastille used the moment to quickly fire Shadow Ball. Marrowak took the hit directly. He tried to use Bonemerang next but missed. Bastille used Iron Defense to soften this next blow. Marrowak came charging in very upset. At the last moment, Liam called out for Astonish.
Bastille made Marrowak jump, sending his bine flying into the air, only to fall back down and conk him on the head, disorientating him. Liam tossed a Luxury Ball and the Marrowak was sucked in. The ball began to shake vigorously. After a bit, it stopped and became still.

Once the heroes got closer to the park, they encountered a Cubone. Liam wanted to battle and catch it, but it was missing its bone. He implied that another Cubone stole it. Cubone pointed to another Cubone who was thrashing around with a pair of bones as if they were drumsticks.
