“She was only protecting her babies or other babies from other Pokémon,” Jen said as that was a guess as she looks at the Pokémon nursery sign.

"This is a male Farfetch'd," Liam said scanning it with the Rotomdex.

"That was strange," Shiranui commented, "What was in your bag that got Farfetch'd riled up?"

"I have no idea, but we'll have to figure that out later," Liam said. Liam heard a wail from the other side of the door and rushed in. The wailing came from what looked to be a purple dinosaur wearing a diaper.

"Toxel, the Baby Pokémon. A Poison and Electric-Type. It stores poison in an internal poison sac and secretes that poison through its skin. If you touch this Pokémon, a tingling sensation follows. It manipulates the chemical makeup of its poison to produce electricity. The voltage is weak, but it can cause a tingling paralysis."

A lady standing next to the Toxel was trying to calm it down. Liam inquired about what happened. The lady explained that there was a Nuzleef in the area bullying smaller Pokémon. This Toxel, had been brought inside to get it away from the Nuzleef. Liam gave the Toxel a Pecha Berry for a sweet treat to calm it down. Liam then asked it which way the Nuzleef was, to which it looked off to the right. Liam went off in that direction, and found a pair of Applin. One red, one green. The red one was on the floor unconscious while the green stood over it worrying. Liam quickly rushed over to try and look at the injured one, using the calming, reassuring smile that his nurse mother and her assorted family members were known for to calm the pair. Farfetch'd burst out of its ball to look at the injured Applin then turned to converse with the non-injured one.
Liam noticed marks that would align with Bullet Seed, and slash marks that aligned with the top of Nuzleef's head.
"This Applin was attacked by a Nuzleef as well?" Liam inquired. The non-injured Applin shakily confirmed Liam's suspicion. He Gave the Applin a Max Revive, and told it to take care, he was going to go deal with the Nuzleef.
Farfetch'd poked Liam with the leek to get his attention and curtly said. "Far" and bowed. It then continued to quack pointing to the Applin, a large nearby tree, Liam's bag, and then off in the direction Liam had encountered Farfetch'd.

"So, a Nuzleef attacked these Applin, stole something from them, put them in a bag like mine, and walked off?"
"Far"
"So, that's why you attacked me, you thought I had the Applin's stolen items."
"Far"
The Applin wanted to come with Liam to see to it that he found the Nuzleef. One was carried by Farfetch'd while the other was carried by Liam.
It took only a couple more minutes of searching before he found the Nuzleef, and its trainer. The trainer's manner of dress reminded Liam of Team Skull, though they clearly weren't affiliated with those hoodlums.
"Oh look, it's those weakling Applins," she taunted. "I assume you're their trainer. Why don't you do the smart thing and kick them to the curb? weakling Pokémon like those need to die."
"How dare you!?" Liam said his rage building. "Saying that a Pokémon needs 'to die', not even the genocidal maniacs I've dealt with have said that."

"Psh, like you can stop me with those weakling Pokémon." she said pointing at the Applin and Farfetch'd. My Nuzleef has already beaten all of them. She tossed out two Dusk Balls, a Pancham, and a Galarian Zigzagoom emerged from them.

Liam pulled out his Rotom dex and pushed a few buttons. A Luxury Ball was teleported to his hand. "Someone like you deserves no mercy from me. "Not only has a decent human being, but as a Regional Champion, I can not standby and let you continue to bully defenseless Pokémon. Goodra, go!"
It was at this point that the hoodlum stopped being snarky. "Goodra, Dragon Pulse!" Goodra fired the attack, hitting Nuzleef directly, and pushing it into the other two with enough force to KO all of them. The hoodlum stood there shocked that her three Pokémin were so effortlessly defeated. Liam walked up and used a revive on each of the three Pokémon and turned to the trainer. "Now leave, and don't you ever bother the Pokémon of this route or the nursery again." It was the first time since Erik, the poacher responsible for the death of the mother to Smaug, Liam's Charizard that there was so much hatred and malice in his voice. Liam turned to walk back to the nursery. The hoodlum smirked,
"Now! Dark Pulse and Shadow Ball!" Zigzagoon fired off Shadow Ball while the other two used Dark Pulse. Goodra shoved Liam out of the way of the attacks.
"You fool!" Liam shouted as he activated the Z Power Ring. "Goodra, use Devastating Drake!" Draco Meteor was channeled into the Z move and the Hoodlum and her mons were send soaring off into the distance. Liam than returned to let the nursery workers know he dealt with that bully.
The heroes made their way to Route 5. Liam saw a Pokémon that he recognized as a regional variant.
"Farfetch'd, Galarian Form. The Wild Duck Pokémon. A Fighting-Type. The Farfetch'd of the Galar region are brave warriors, and they wield thick, tough leeks in battle. The stalks of leeks are thicker and longer in the Galar region. Farfetch'd that adapted to these stalks took on a unique form. " It pointed the leek at Liam and quaked a threat at him, particularly at his bag.
Liam looked at the Pokémon confused until the Farfetch'd motioned that he wanted Liam to place it on the ground. Liam refused to do this and started to reach for Beckham's Luxury Ball when Farfetch'd lunged at Liam, knocking him over and it began to tear through his bag. Liam got mad and called Beckham out who rushed the Farfetch'd, knocking him out of the bag. Liam got mad and tossed a Luxury Ball (even though he carried a supply of various kinds of Pokéballs, he still carried mostly Luxury Balls) at Farfetch'd and caught it. "I'll deal with this thing later," Liam said annoyed as his Rotomphone reported about Farfetch'd being registered to his Pokédex. Liam and Beckham picked everything up that was thrown from his bag.
"Ra-raboot." Beckham said as he pointed out a building nearby after they finished collecting all the items. Upon closer inspection, Liam noticed that this building had a few eggs on its sign, and that it was labeled as a Nursery.
Yup, the regional varients and regional evolutions have me intriqued.
"Well, let's head out then," Liam said
"Well, let's go to Route 5 to look for some."
"Or I could chuck balls at every apple I see," Liam said with a smirk obviously not being serious.
"Well, now I know what to keep an eye out for," Liam said with a smile.
The game is a spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead. The scene in question has the players fight through zombies to cross a bridge to only be told they have to go back and plant bombs on said bridge to keep the zombies (or "Ridden" as this game calls them) from following you. UI couldn't find any of those guys handing over bombs and assumed they were auto-added to my inventory, so I went to the couple different spots that I am supposed to plant a bomb but can't figure out how to do it
Has anyone else played the Back 4 Blood Beta? I know I'm doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what and no one online is providing me w/the answer.
Liam had his healed and changed back to the Dragon Gym tracksuit. "I am.'
