Current Sorry for my lack of posts lately. I've just... been struggling to get the energy to write something up. I'm trying some new meds through so hopefully that will change soon.

Farxus is sitting by himself in the frozen south, reading a book and being spied on by a crazy god. Anyone want to drop in for a visit since he doesn't really have a motive to travel right now (He will with the new turn and more might through).
@Lmpkio

I was debating between the Overlord (Overlord 1) and a Light Sided Sith Inquisitor Darth Imperius (Star Wars The Old Republic)
You ever have that moment where your character writes themselves? Like you see a situation and instead of having to think about how your character would react to it, you just know what they are going to do before you're even done reading the post?

Fortune jumping into the ocean after the cute girl to save her was one such moment. Didn't even have to think about it, that was what he was going to be doing. Honestly, the whole 'tie a rope around your waist thing' was us both thinking along the lines of 'Okay, how do I get the girl back onto the ship without dying' at the same time.
And Luigi has joined the fray!

I confess that I'm conflicted about who I want as a secondary character. I've got at least two good options that I am debating, but I've got time so I'm in no rush.
Character: Luigi
Level: 1
Day/Time: Day One
Location: Mushroom Kingdom, Mario and Luigi's plumbing office - Tetris Castle Reception Hall
Tag:
Mario @Holy Soldier (and to a lesser extent, everyone else. He just isn't focusing on you guys yet).

In a small, tidy office that had been recently cleaned Luigi sat alone at his desk as he read through the bane of all business enterprises; Paperwork. Every expense and payment needed to be written down, every job that he had taken needed to be carefully recorded and filed... After all, just because he had saved the Kingdom alongside his brother several times didn't mean that they were immune to taxation. Sure, Princess Peach could likely grant both himself and Mario such a thing and they were both well known and popular enough that they might just get away with it, but there was always that chance that the rest of the population might get... annoyed by such a state of affairs. Better to avoid that ill will.

Just as he dotted the last 'i' on the bottom line of the order form for a special kind of pipe, a knock on the window drew Luigi's attention. Floating there was a Lakitu, looking at him with a breathlessness that suggested that he had rushed here in a hurry while holding up an envelop and waving it to get his attention. Opening a draw of his desk, Luigi grabbed a coin before getting up and walking over to the window to open it. As Lakitu gave him the letter, Luigi smiled as he offered him the coin in return. "Thank you. A tip for your troubles." He explained kindly before closing the window and walking back over to his desk to break the seal and read the letter.

The contents of the letter made him sigh. He couldn't just pull a Mario and run off at the first sign of adventure in the knowledge that he had someone to look after their business while he was gone. He was still going to go of course, but as he placed the letter down on his desk, Luigi resolved himself to making a few phone calls and sending a few letters to avoid pissing off his clients too much; Rearranging things with them was better then not showing up at all after all.

Once the last call had been made, only then did Luigi take a pen and circle Yes on the letter... before a portal formed underneath him and dropped him down to another adventure.

.............................................................

As his feet touched the ground, Luigi blinked a little as he looked around. He was in a castle. This wasn't the first time he had been in such a place, through the proper lighting and the lack of death traps made it one of the better ones by default. While he started off alone, his attention was quickly drawn to the orange... thing that was walking towards him. While it didn't speak in a language that he could understand, it was clear that it wanted him to follow it.

Arriving at an elevator, Luigi took a deep breath while they were going down... before the door opened and reveled a room that was laid out for one of the greatest feasts he had ever seen!... Which was currently in the middle of a food fight.

And standing in the middle of it all was Mario. After all this time and worry, Mario was not only alive and well (and looking great it had to be said) but he was currently enjoying himself in a food fight without ever bothering to tell anyone where he was, what he was doing or why he was going. His hands clenching into fists as all the worry that he had for his brother was replaced by anger, Luigi walked over to one of the tables closest to the entrance of the room in order to grab a turkey leg the size of his forearm... before winding up and lobbing it at the back of his brother's head!

The week on the ship had been... a mixed experience for Fortune. The 'sea sickness' seemed to come and go in waves; It was a foul thing but not the worst illness that he had ever had to suck up and bare for one reason or another. Namely he bore it in order to sit and listen through Darren's speeches and explanations.

It had started off innocently enough; He had wanted to learn more about magic in the hopes that by understanding it a bit better, he wouldn't be so frightened of it because it was an unknown. It would be unfitting for a knight of the realm to be shriving in their armor because they let their imagination run wild after all. Granted some of the things that Darren had explained to him in his upbeat manner that was doable by a magic wielder were absolutely terrifying that even the bravest of grail knights would confess to some level of distress, but understanding a little bit about the how such things were done also gave him some strategies to either stop it from happening to begin with or how to try and survive it if stopping it wasn't an option.

There were three reasons that he continued to have his discussions with Darren. The first was quite simply that he found discussing magic with him to be rather fascinating as well as informative. Sure he could never wield magic himself (if he could, he would have been taken with the other children who had the 'gift' and since he was a male he would have found out exactly why the boys taken by the servants of the Lady were never seen or heard from again) but even just understanding a little bit about how it worked made it... less scary in a way. Less a monster hiding in the darkness of the night and more something that was bound by rules and laws that it had to adhere to.

The second (through he would only ever admit it to one person... one day) was that he enjoyed spending time with Alison. She was often in the presence of her master and listening to him talk was a small price to pay to sit beside her, glancing at her every now and then when he thought he could get away with it. Besides, understanding magic a little also made the fact that she was magical less... intimidating. Plus she was really cute when she blushed...

The third and final reason was quite simply if he didn't occupy Darren's time, he would try and talk with either the other adventures or the crew of the ship and quite frankly he suspected that they would end up killing him at some point in order to shut him up.

.....................................................

Up on deck as the ship smashed into rocks in the middle of a storm while a hostile ship full of complete and utter mad men (who in their right mind would attack a ship ran aground on rocks in the middle of a storm that you own ship was having trouble staying afloat in?) were coming right for them... and Fortune was tying a rope around his waist that was secured to the mast before he run towards the part of the ship that Alison had fallen off of, fully intending to throw himself overboard in order to try and save her.

His first instinct had been to throw himself after her the moment she had gone overboard but the part of his brain that liked living had argued that if he didn't have a means of getting them both back onto the ship jumping after her would only result in both of their deaths. Thus he had paused long enough to grab a long rope from the deck, tie one end securely to the mast then tying the other to his waist before he ran towards where he was hearing Alison's pitiful cries and throwing himself overboard to go and get her.

He was thankful that he had left both armor and equipment below deck, having not foreseen the use of metal weapons or armor to assist with keeping the ship afloat. If he had been wearing his armor he would have had to forsaken her because all throwing himself over the side would have done was kill himself without doing her any good.

Hopefully the others could hold the ship without him.

Edit: Damn, I didn't know we had started. Will repost this over there.
To be fair, it doesn't have to be an outright attack or raiding threat... A storm that requires -everyone- on board to do something to keep the ship from being destroyed would be just as solid.
