Current Sorry for my lack of posts lately. I've just... been struggling to get the energy to write something up. I'm trying some new meds through so hopefully that will change soon.

Well, we need to do some damage control; Try and recover what supplies and drones are trapped in collapsed tunnels and sections of the hive, but right now we need to outlast the waters and preserve what parts of the hive are still intact.

The question we need to ask now is: Do we rebuild the hives as underground tunnels (with the addition of the biological enforcement to ensure this doesn't happen again) or do we need to develop a new kind of home structure going forward?

Also try and convey the fact that we are happy to let the bees do their thing with our new bushes and that we will be happy to protect them while doing so.

Let the current 'silk' drones join the workforce properly. We'll see how they work in practice and thus where improvements are required later on.

I understand what you're trying to achieve, but the creation of two smaller hives solely for the purpose of pitting them against each other is a waste of resources: Both for the investments into the hives themselves and for the loss of possible resources for the main hive as two smaller hives fight for resources we don't currently control in order to wage war with each other.

Also, the development of 'Warlord' variant Princes to requirements asked would be a timely, resource intensive process that the hive cannot afford at this time. Alternative Suggestion: develop a strain of Princes with defensive military improvements, increased sensory systems and turning the advanced intelligence of the Prince caste towards tactical matters. Let them serve as a leading figure for the warriors to better coordinate and plan defenses and possible future campaigns for the hive.

The improvement of the Princes is an unexpected but highly welcomed addition to the Hive. Their advanced reasoning skills should be focused towards understanding the bees, since the bees are relatively peaceful and the Princes are unlikely to be accidentally brought into harms way.

Incorporating spider silk production into the hive should be brought back to the forefront.

Possible suggestion for a new militant caste: A smaller breed of warriors without the mandibles but with thicker armor so that they can serve to bait the target into attacking a target they will do little to no damage to while the attacking warriors flank the target and rip it apart.

Possible idea to be considered: Beetles seem to be able to communicate with each other in some way. Would recommend that we take the time to figure out how they do so in order to be able to commune with them ourselves. Communication leads to options, be it coexistence and cooperation or gives us tactical options when dealing with the beetles in the future.

On similar note, attempt to discover a means to commune with the bees. They are not an active threat to us and thus coexistence is assured, but opening means to communicate would allow for cooperation.

Suggestion: Spider's silk 'web' creating ability should be examined and if possible, some members of the hive should be restructured to benefit from this knowledge. The development of our own silk gives us construction and tactical benefits.

Planting new sources of berries closer to the capital hive and establishing an outpost hive in current berry location to serve as a storehouse/defensive position for a work force and garrison to protect our berries is a wise idea.

While losses taken during engagements with beetles and spider where within acceptable limits, there is always room to improve. Bodies of the our fallen should be examined in order to see where fatal blows were landed so that carapace armor can be altered to better resist bites in these areas.

So the group that has gone exploring the grasslands have gotten lost or something has consumed them. Either way, we're not sending anyone else after them. If they come back great, but until then screw 'em, they're dead.

Right now, we need to focus our attention on exploring and getting a feel for the forest. We know there is food to be found within, so let's go and find it before our stores run dry.

The parade of the Sworn Brothers trinity of legions might have been controversial due to the company of its leading primarch, but Ruubai and his wife would be a footnote of gossip at the parties of the nobles of Terra compared to the parade of the Night Watch legion that came shortly afterwards. Primarch Micholi had seen a chance to not only honor members of his own legion, but also a chance to make both history and a statement that the elites of humanity would not be able to ignore.

Even has he had made haste to Terra, he had reached out to the divisions of his legion in order to invite those members of each division that were not embroiled in active combat a chance to come with him to Terra to receive the honor of the Imperium they fought for... as well as the most decorated of the imperial army regiments that served alongside them.

The parade started off as one would have expected at first; The representatives of the First division lead the way, followed by the Imperial Knight Light's Shield and the best of the skitarii 97th Ratchet regiment. The representatives of the Second Division followed and they were joined by heroes of the 17th Stormheim regiment, made up of giants of humans in size and fitness that would have made them prime candidates for space marine conversion (Stormheim was a recruiting world for the Night Watch after all, but not everyone could be a space marine).

It was around the Third Division when the cheering stopped, replaced with stunned silence as the space marines were being followed by the 2nd Savage regiment: The imagine of a regiment of abhuman beastmen dressed in the fatigues of the Imperial Army matching proudly behind a company of Space Marines was not one anyone was expecting. The Fourth Division didn't improve matters, for behind that grouping of space marines marched the 15th Palaven regiment. For almost all the humans on Terra, the Turian's metallic carapace was the first time they had ever actually laid eyes on a xeno before... and this one was wearing Imperial Army colors and marching in a parade honoring the heroes of the Imperium.

Finally came the Fifth Division, followed by Primarch Micholi leading the 1st Reserve regiment: Unlike the other regiments, which were dedicated to a single race or species, the 1st Reserve was a mixture of humans, adhumans and xenos races (well, two xeno races. The turians had been seen before, but the Twi'leks were new and in the case of the female solders caused some strange thoughts to arise in a few of the crowd). Some cheered, but for the most part the crowd was confused into silence.

Thankfully, when he finally reached the Imperiual Palace Micholi would give the Custodes a much easier time letting him in since he would do so alone, dismissing his troops before doing so... through the space marine elements were clearly planning to hang around with the... less the human elements of their forces if only to discourage any... incidents from happening.
The Republic of Tushina

An Order given.

As the icy northern and western winds howled in their respective turns blind to the efforts of their counterpart, Blodige of the Western Gate trotted proudly with his right arm held behind his back as he gazed at the legions that had been entrusted to his overall command, standing tall at attention as he inspected them. It was far from the full military might of Tushina, but Blodige had understood the concerns of his fellow commanders about leaving gaps along the western border for the hobgoblins to launch a counter invasion... or if a naval landing was attempted along the southern coast. Not to mention the occasional incursion from the east as mind numbing horrors birthed in the ruins of the Forgotten Empire crawled their way out of their cursed realm.

What he had been given was still more then enough to get the job done however... through there had been a fly in the stew as it were. Taler's efforts to make peace with the Hobgoblins might have ended in failure, but his efforts had born an... addition to the orders that Blodige had been given and was expected to stand by during the campaign by the Senate; While the Hobgoblins were fair game, the goblins of Bwca had proven much more receptive to diplomacy and thus if encountered on the field it was now a requirement that he try to capture them rather then just slaughter them wholesale, as well as treat goblin prisoners with the rights and respect of actual people rather then as vermin.

An annoying guideline to be sure, but if it kept the Senate happy he couldn't exactly say no.

As the inspection came to an end, Blodige slowly ascended a makeshift platform that had been constructed for the purpose of giving an inspirational speech to the troops before they all started to march into those hobgoblin infested mountains to do what they were born and trained to do. Reaching the top of the stairs, the world was silent bar the howling of the winds.

Taking a deep breath, Blodige spoke loudly and proudly words that had been spoken by the military caste since before the fall of the Forgotten Empire. "If that sun won't rise on our horizon!"

"WE'LL MARCH ON TO SPITE THE SKIES!" was roared back at him, tugging a smile from Blodige's lips as the feeling of tradition born from centuries of Too'ave like him washed over him like a righteous tide. He had the attention of his troops. It was time to inspire them.

"My Kin, today is the day that we turn the page in Tushina's history and write a new entry. Since before the unity of our people and the foundation of the Republic, the Hobgoblins of Uul have been a constant annoyance and a threat of varying level. They have raided our lands, slaughtered our people and destroyed our towns... for no other reason then pride and hate. Only recently one of our diplomats actually reached out to them to offer terms for peace, but they refused us and demanded either twenty five tonnes of gold or the lives of enough Too'ave to sate their bloodlust for a war that they started to end! I might not agree with Taler or his views on many issues, but I'm proud to say that even someone as soft hearted as Taler had enough fire and pride not to bow down to such outrageously arrogant demands!"

A thundering noise started up as disciplined solders stomped their feet, or the butt of spears against the ground three times in succession. Their leader still had more to say after all. "Today, we march into Uul to crush all dissent from those who have done nothing but be a pest to us for hundreds of years! We shall greet their cheek with grievance! Mere vermin are these arrogant wretches and we shall see them either bleed or plead allegiance for they have long surrendered the right to be left to their own devices! Since the hobgoblins seem to only be able to speak in gold and blood may our actions in Uul stand as testament and warning to their rest of their ilk to the west that when Tushina offers her hand in friendship that they should take it, for in her other hand is held a sword and we will brook no threats to our well being!"

The roar that followed started with Blodige, but it was quickly picked up as row upon row of Too'ave solder rose their voice to empower it further. The time for speeches was over.

When the roar finally faded, orders began to be shouted as troops started to march in order, traveling the road to Uul. Not everyone who was going was apart of the military caste through; A number of artisans and builders were going to. While a number of scouts had failed to report back and Blodige fully expected to discover their mutilated bodies strung up somewhere to serve as a warning, many of the legions he was leading had been and fought in Uul before and fought hobgoblins before. The plan for how to start off this war was actually rather simple:

They were going to march into some of the more fertile areas of the hilly nation of Uul near Tushina's border and they were going to set up shop and dig in. Build proper fortresses and defenses rather then just some wooden stockade and just wait. The Hobgoblins were prideful, simple creatures and having an enemy so brazenly claim their lands would demand a response... even more so because of the threat of losing good growing land if they did nothing. If they didn't attack then Tushina would have secured a fortified foothold in Uul that would be perfect to continue the campaign from.

Rupert might have been polite, professional and respectful, but he honestly had nothing worth saying at the moment so... he didn't. He just watched as his new boss pointed out several of the flaws that were clear to the naked eye with some of his new co-workers before announcing where they were going to be going next.

Truth be told, he didn't know anything about Nionus Seven-Twelve or why it was any different from any other planet in the universe apart from the fact that it was a brown color and (at least in theory) and made of dirt of all things. The very thought of walking on something so unstable and alien that wasn't the construction of human hands sent a shiver running down Rupert's spine, but that wasn't here or now.

While others departed in order to get their affairs in order, Rupert remained. Quietly, he walked over to the food table and helped himself to a rather plain looking meat dish because the idea of letting good food go to waste had long ago been burned out of his soul as a heresy on par with denouncing the Emperor, for rotting food opened the gateway to plague and famine and both of those wretched things opened the doorway to dark and twisted nightmares and horrors to put most ghost stories to shame.

It wasn't until everyone else had departed and it was only Rupert, Livingstone and his bodyguard William before he decided to speak up in the presence of the Captain. "Captain Livingstone,-" He didn't know exactly what title the man wanted to use, so Rupert decided to use the one that held the most value to him personally "- I'm sure you are aware but my name is Rupert O'Donald. Now that we have a moment alone, might I ask you about the request I sent you earlier?"

The request in question had been a simple message asking for the Janitors to continue to act as the Pride's internal security force, alongside a brief abridged history of the now vacant Head of Security post and why trying to reinstate it would cause needless problems that would eat up time and resources. Hopefully, he would have listened.
