I think to sell someone on an interest check, it's really important to seem enthusiastic about your own idea. That means writing more than a single sentence to attract potential players.

Did you know that Dante's inferno is called a divine comedy because things work out for the protagonist? Back in the day, the only two genres were comedy and drama. The only difference was that in a comedy, the protagonist is better off at the end, and a drama is the opposite. So that's why a story about going through hell can still be considered a comedy, even if it's not funny.

Name:
Broken Promise, BP, Boss

Age:
Old enough to know better, too young to care. (that is to say 30's)

Preferred RPs:
I Prefer to make my own, but will occasionally join something if it looks interesting. I'll join just about anything so long as it isn’t overly edgy/sweet, though it's rare for me to do. I don't do 1x1s too often either.

Preferred Roles:
I tend to play adorable characters everyone wants to befriend or proper assholes everyone wants to stay away from. I try not to play moral paragons or prime evils.

RP Conquests:
I've completed quite a few RP's off site, but most of them are on private forums or have simply been lost to the ravages of server crashes. As for stuff here, I'm sure everyone who sees me post in the off topic sections has seen me find an excuse to talk about Danganronpa: Tower of Carnage. It's a project that took over 4 years to complete and I feel pride not only for myself but all the wonderful people who helped make it enjoyable during its run. Re: Zero: The High Council Is technically my first, but it was just something I kind of took over and ended up ending the story after just six months. It finished, but eh...

Last RP I finished was Symphony of Espers which turned out pretty good.

RP's in progress:
For some reason I can't seem to stay away from Ari's magical girl RP, even if I'm not sure why I'm still in it.

As for my own projects, I'm doing Symphony on High to continue the gigachad adventures of the espers in Pax Septimus.

RP Graveyard:
I've been pretty fortunate on this forum. I think I joined one when I first came on the site that didn't really do anything, and there are a few 1x1 things that didn't go anywhere. It's disappointing when an RP ends before it can be finished, but I've come to look at them as learning experiences.

And then there's that london magical girl RP, and that dark magical girl RP. I think I'm done joining magical girl RPs for a while.

Other interests:
Videos
I watch a lot of educational videos on youtube. Usually as research for something I’m writing or purely because a topic interests me. I like channels like Tier Zoo and Daryl Talks Games, and I’ll also watch things like Critical Drinker or Literature Devil to deepen my understanding of story telling. Though I also like memes and jokes, to which I’ll find myself watching stuff like Sseth, but usually find myself surfing through meme videos. I gotta work on that.

Games
I have a rather long history of playing virtually every platformer to come into existence during the indie boom, as well as quite a few other indie games. I’ve played Meatboy, Binding of Issac, Gunvolt, Cuphead, Princess Remedy in a World of Hurt, Classic Metroid, Warcraft 3, Final Fantasy 7,8, and 14, Left 4 Dead, Shantae, Celeste, Danganronpa, God Eater, the list goes on. What I’ve played is kind of all over the place. I don’t play many games these days, I tend to pick things that look interesting and go on a decent steam sale.

Painting Minis
I do this in moderation. Otherwise, it's a pretty expensive hobby to start...

Music
I listen to everything, save most country/rap songs. I have too many favorites to name.

Personality:
Not one to take life or the internet too seriously. Is only serious about writing well and having a good time.

People to Insult:
Dalton is a Dingus.

-Salbjörg of the Deep

Zogi’s return from death didn’t please Salbjörg. It wasn’t that she wanted him dead (she needed to care for that to happen) but there wasn’t an explanation for it. Clearly each and every one of them could die, otherwise why would the dungeon spirit fret over his death? Something didn’t add up, but he was just a goblin. There was no point in over analyzing it. The Oracle must have saved him.

The actions of the others hadn’t been that much more interesting. Muste said something about digging and ran off, probably because he didn’t want to help. Schnupfen gave a few orders, and likely wouldn’t have been able to help if he wanted to. She was pretty sure he didn’t though. Zogi was digging though. Maybe it would be good to have the goblin back after all. And the Oracle...

Well, the Oracle was taking care of her, of course. She didn’t know what to expect, as she hadn’t watched them heal themselves. The idea that something could mend wounds with their balloon fingers was strange to Salbjörg. And it was no stranger seeing it in action. Its fingers passed right through her and began fixing her from the inside. Its touch was cool, but that just served to numb the area as they worked on it. She wondered since she could feel it passing through her if it could feel her as well. Her rib had been mended, and the poison had been pulled out of her flesh. She was still sticky, but the Oracle told her to wait for the glue to dry and peel it away or just shed her skin. Given that she had never shed her skin before, she was unsure exactly how long that would take. There was also the matter of her dress. Letting the glue dry seemed to be the best option for the moment. But this was all the convincing Salbjörg needed.

The Oracle was a straight ten.

"Well done." She bowed, causing the goblin attached to her pillows to dangle briefly. "If you need anything, call for my aid." Her thumb slid over her old wound. This was the first time the snake woman had genuinely smiled since waking up here.

But there was no time to celebrate. The problem with having a living chest warmer was that it was capable of making requests. She had forgotten how hideous the rest of its body looked and had been avoiding that. But damn, that was a pretty sweet smile.

Even so, Salbjörg wouldn’t normally dignify such a request with a response. But she was being asked to perform physical labor and didn’t have a lot of excuses not to. She looked at the ghost (who she suspected would be the only one to care) and pointed at the back of the dungeon. "I need to get Zoppy to the bony thing."

And with that, she was off.

...

Was that a bunch of rats standing on top of each other?

Side Goal:
Escort Zoppy To Bony Thing

Something that Salbjörg noticed very quickly was that having an extra twenty pounds strapped to her chest made walking around a lot bouncier. She found herself cradling the goblin after taking just a few steps. This was not going to work very well.

As soon as she got to the back room, she discovered all the wonderful things the Oracle had gotten for them. Many items caught her eye. Much like the knowledge she had upon waking up, she seemed to understand what some of these items did. The bell of safe return would be useful if she ever decided to explore outside. The polymorphic amulet might be useful as a backup disguise, depending on what form it turned the wearer into. Both of these items also had some fine craftsmanship, and she wouldn’t mind having them. Would anyone notice if she took them now? Well, that could be considered later. Right now she needed to get this out of Zoppy’s system. Then she could look at everything here and maybe speak with the ugly ent or the cute snake.

She approached the skeleton. Klein hadn’t been too specific on what happened to bring them all here. She knew a lot and didn’t seem to be too cagey with what she knew. There had to be a reason why a long dead mage was in here. But that was a question for later.

Completed Side Goal:
Escort Zoppy To Bony Thing ✓

With some effort, Salbjörg managed to peel the goblin off of herself and set them down on the floor. Then through the use of her magic, she took hold of the bones and made the dead wizard sit up. She wiggled her fingers, and the skeleton kneeled before Zoppy and slid its hands inside its sleeves, seemingly waiting for her to do something.

Side Goal:
Trade With Zoppy?

"Bubblegum Joe is my hero. And no, I don’t mean Bazooka Joe."

— Dazzling Diamond

Boleite sighed. "I’m not calling your frogs weak, I’m just saying that electricity hurts even in small doses." Her eyes drifted to Kaeru’s cheek, or the little mark Topaz left there. "But it looks like you can handle shocks and sparks at least, haha!" She made the wise voice to but out of whatever Kaeru was trying to tell the confused light girl. Only for her to up and hop into the night itself. "Hmm, I haven’t seen the forest at night. Maybe there are some fireflies." With a crack of thunder, the lightning girl was gone.

Diamond, Topaz, Pearl, and Morganite had all gathered together and were making their way out of Hibusa town.

"Doesn’t feel like we did much of anything." Pearl looked back at the dark girls departing. "Did we accomplish anything here?"

Morganite said nothing. She watched as Hizuki disappeared into the sky. Once she was out of sight, she turned around to join the others.

Diamond adjusted her cap. "Our goal wasn’t to abduct their members, mock them, or beat them up. Our goal was to let them know that their actions have consequences." She looked over her shoulder at the remaining dark girls, narrowed her brow, then looked back ahead. "I think they got the message. Whether they heed it or not is entirely up to them."

"It was equal parts disappointin’ and excitin’ that the dark woman showed up." Topaz was skipping alongside the group.

"It did make for a more peaceful resolution to things. I don’t think either side would have enjoyed that if it dragged on like it could have." Diamond’s grip tightened on her bat. "You guys want ice cream when we get back?"

Nobody said no.

"I can’t really bleed out since I can command some of my blood to stay inside my body. But you want to find my limbs anyway?" Oros laughed. "Oh, that would be great! I mean, I’m not sure if we can re-attach them. If they are too badly damaged I’ll just need to kiss myself back to health." She swung her head around. "Hmmm, I don’t suppose I can get the blond one with the bow to kiss me. The one with the bat looks kind of scary and- Oh nope, no there’s too many of them over there." Oros placed a tendril on her head. "I feel really light headed, let’s go see if we can find anything."

And they would, but all of Oros’s limbs looked like miniature spiral cut hams. Fortunately Suki still had all of her limbs, and wasn’t at risk of bleeding out.

There weren’t that many miseria left to hunt.

Boleite had been pretty thorough with their extermination and all that was left were stragglers that surfaced after the GEMs departed. It seemed the lightning wielding girl was just as crazy about killing miseria as Nyxia was, if that was possible.

As many mogalls as Boleite nuked, there was still plenty of "footage" that survived the fight. She was able to catch everything, from Willow entering Red Cafe, leaving with a defeated Black Gate, and finally the goat girl's escape. And she really did seem to be stationed outside Hibusa town. She ran right out of the town’s limits before more stunted apes showed up to chase off the mogalls.
He did, he sold all of his stocks. And he made a profit too.

"No! No! Stop! Don’t mention meta! Whatever you do-"

"DID SOMEONE SAY META!? AND NOT LIKE THE LIZZARD MAN’S COMPANY?!"

"Now you’ve done it…"

"Nice Reality Plenum. Think I’ll stick around a bit, even if it makes absolutely no sense for me to be here. To be fair, this entire fight doesn’t make sense."

"Our similar sounding voices are going to confuse someone…"

"Dot dot dot more, noob!"

What an exciting place!

Normally when Oros the Mad entered a city, she’d get dogpiled by espers that wanted to collect the bounty on her head. But not this place. It seemed like the people in South town were too proud to fight in numbers and did everything in elegant one on one fights. Well, her half of the fight was elegant. Most of her opponents just weren’t up to facing her. Most of them insisted on fighting her with their bare fists, and it didn’t take a genius to understand that sword beats hand. Not only that, but Oros used a katana! And as everyone knew, katanas were the best swords ever and only used by stupendous badasses like herself. It was like the Smith & Wesson Model 29 revolver, if you see someone with that, you just run. They know what the hell they’re doing and you probably don’t.

But after beating up her twentieth pleb, she thought she’d go to China Town to get some cheap chinese food. Only the line was a lot longer than what she was expecting. Moreover, it wasn’t a line at all. It was a barricade to stop people from entering the area. Seriously? These tactless Non-Patron-Champions (lovingly shortened to NPCs) thought they could get between her and lunch? This would not do.

But before Oros could unleash a 500 MP cost melody on the unsuspecting crowd, she noticed the two Patron Champions (Or PCs for short) engaging in a fight. And hey! It was Nick from Body Blows, fighting Oros’s own edgy apprentice! She decided to slip into the crowd. Making a scene here would disrupt the fight, which wouldn’t be good for either of the patrons participating in the fight.

It looked like Miss Edgy Daggers just punched Nick in the chest. While to her eyes it was clearly an oversell, Miss Edge didn’t do anything to close the distance. She just stood there, assessing what she had done, or at least Nick’s performance. He had put a bit of space between them, but not too much. The reason was quite apparent. But there was no reason to narrate it to an unseen audience, watching it in practice would reveal enough.

Mika was still leading with the right side of her body, and when Nick’s fist came in for her left, she managed to get her left dagger up and braced it against her left arm. Hooks weren’t slow punches, but Miss Edge had little difficulty blocking from a neutral position. It was a powerful blow however, and she leaned to her right. She mirrored her technique for the opposite side, but the attack landed a lot hard between Mika’s momentum and the rotation of Nick’s shoulders. Still reeling from the second blow, she had just enough time to move her Left arm and dagger away from the side of her head and in front of her chest, just as the uppercut connected. The other punches were strong, but this one was enough to get her to stumble backwards.

Even if Mika blocked all three of his punches, it was clear that she couldn’t just stand there and block everything. She’d get disorientated and start eating his attacks before long. But Oros could tell she hadn’t intended to do that anyway. She swung her right hand dagger at him just to prevent him from advancing.

"He gave you one that’ll stab your ass if you’re not careful."

This was glorious. Oros had no idea what had Mika so fired up, but the edgy knife nut seemed ready to get more aggressive with lover boy Nick. As soon as she swung her right hand through the air, she planted her left foot almost directly under herself and swung her right knife on a return arc, going from her left shoulder and all the way around the right side of her body. Meanwhile, she switched her grip on her left knife to a forward/phillipino grip. As soon as her right knife passed the target (provided she didn’t bury it ten inches deep in his chest) she would thrust with her left arm. If he was moving backwards, then she would step forward with her left leg to extend her reach. Her target was the most outstretched limb of his body: His leading arm.

Oros pointed at one of the pigs and looked at the people loading them up. "I’m kind of hungry, how much does one of these cost?"

"Don’t worry Hizuki, I’m not actually in this post.

…We have an entire post-event collab to get through together<3"

— Willow

"Wut?!" Morganite placed her hands on her hips. "How can ya say dat? Dey definitely ain’t scared o’ me. Da one there nearly tore ma butt off! Dey troubled aight!" She side eyed Hizuki. "Ya shur ya ain’t mind whammied?"

"Morganite, we should probably get going. The others are leaving."

"Hmmmm." It was apparent that the little armored girl was frustrated, but she didn’t seem to know how to say what she wanted to say. "Lets talk later, Hizuki. M’kay?" She wiped her eyes. Pearl needed to give her a gentle push to get her walking towards the other GEMs. Pearl watched her companion waddle up to Diamond and Topaz.

"So the Detention Club ist a group of misunderstood misfits, and we’re just bullies that harass them." Pearl didn’t look at Hizuki as she spoke. "Then I guess there’s nothing else to say." She was about to join up with her fellow GEMs when she stopped. Then she turned to face Hizuki. "Just think about how they act before you decide if the members of the Detention Club are good people. I'll see you later." And with that, she departed.

"So we can’t help Tsubomi, but we’re allowed to help Suki? Or is it just that you don’t want to kiss her?"

— Dazzling Diamond

After Topaz was returned to their number, Diamond turned to look at her. "Are you okay?"

Her irises had been completely consumed by her pupils. There also seemed to be a shadow on her face that would darken it for the rest of her life. With a trembling hand, she took one of her arrows and slammed it into the base of her chin. With a blink, color had returned to her eyes, and her smile beamed so brightly it chased away any shadow. Then she turned to Diamond. "It was a little scary, but I’m all good now, hun!"

Boleite shrugged her shoulders and heaved her weapon over her shoulder. It seemed like everyone was okay, so there was no reason to keep fighting. On her approach, she caught what Kaeru was telling her. "I’m actually a lot heavier than I look. You have no idea how much this equipment weighs. The backpack makes me too awkward to carry." She took Kaeru’s joke at face value, but didn’t seem offended by the comment. "And I’m not riding in the belly of a frog. If they touch both ends of my tesla coils, they could get shocked."

When Noc asked for a healer, Diamond could sense her eyes wandering over the GEMs. "Somehow, I don’t think the rest of your club would appreciate our help." She settled her bat on her shoulder and began walking towards Morganite and Pearl. "We should get going, Topaz. There’s always next time."

"Yup!" She looked back at Nocnitsa. "You can try these if you want. I don’t usually heal magical girls that banged up." She pulled out five arrows and stuck them in the dirt where she was standing. Before turning to follow after Diamond, she took Kaeru by the shoulders and kissed her on the cheek. Unbeknownst to her, it would leave some of her lipstick behind. "Thanks for the save, darlin’! You’re welcome to visit the City of Light anytime!" And with a skip, she was off.

With her allies departing, and the Detention club’s presence making things awkward, Boleite rubbed her collar bones. "Yea, I’ll catch up with you later, shrine maiden. Maybe back at the shrine?" She started to walk away, out of Hibusa town’s entrance rather than with the other GEMs.

"Why are there so many people here? Is it my birthday or am I dying?"

— Suki Oyama

"Oh, you woke up." The disappointment in Oros’s voice was evident. "I mean, it’s good that you’re okay, heh!"

The rest of the world didn’t exist to Oros. Not the GEMs walking to and fro or the frog girl standing over her. Mostly because she couldn’t lift her head that high right now, but that could change.

Her blood converged around her severed limbs, and became twisting tendrils. She was able to scoop up Tsubomi and stand up with her, getting both of them onto her feet. Oros almost looked like an octopus attempting to stand, but was actually succeeding at it. "Yup! Not just my arms, but my legs too!" She almost sounded like she was bragging. "It’s all coming back to me, slowly. I think I was trying to catch up to you, but I don’t think I was successful." A groan escaped Oros’s lips. "Well, maybe we could go get something sweet to drink? I feel like my blood sugar levels are a little low right now."

"A pot can only boil over so much… Especially when the stove is off."

— Willow

Willow’s arms went limp and her back became weak. She watched Hizuki work overtime to ensure that she didn’t get a replacement prisoner that she had freed earlier.

"Yea, it looks like you’ve got this under control, ‘partner.’" Willow turned around and walked towards the other Detention club members. Diamond and Topaz passed her a glance, but she did nothing back.

Morganite, for her part, just looked between the girls in confusion. "Wuts goin’ on!?"

Pearl waited a moment for Willow to get some distance before looking at Hizuki. "What’s going on here? You’re willingly helping the Detention club?" She sighed. "You know they blew up a beach, right? Like, they got together a bunch of beach goers and terrorized them until a giga miseria appeared. Then they killed that miseria using, well, not exactly environmentally friendly attacks. And then they had the nerve to blame us for not helping them get stronger."

Mmmmm, Oreos and salsa…

Seems meal time has come to an end. What can I get you for?

"Why am I only being offered help by weak nerdsssssss?"

-Salbjörg of the Deep

What a dreadful turn of events.

Amidst Salbjörg’s flailing (or lack of), the cowardly, useless, big nosed ghost had decided to drop a rock on the child’s head. While this appeared to finally stop the boy, she knew that wasn’t the case. Her poison had greatly weakened him, to the point where he was crawling around on the floor. If left to his own device, he would have surely died before reaching the crystal. Instead the three out of ten ghost dropped a five out of ten rock on a seven out of ten face and completely ruined it. She only stopped for a second or two to take in what happened, and then began her indignant thrashing again.

Only to stop a second time, when she heard the Oracle cry out and raise its hands. Initially she was outraged at the comment. Who was this we that killed a child? Schnupfen did nothing to speak of, the dead goblin only made the boy stronger, Muste was largely responsible for her present predicament, Zoppy made her pay for her weapon and equipped the enemy, the pile of rats were absent, and the Oracle… Okay, so the Oracle did manage to disarm the boy and took quite a beating in the process. If the we they were referring to was itself and Salbjörg then that was fair enough.

Muste offered Salbjörg his cane. The gesture was appreciated, but with both of her arms stuck in the glue, she didn’t have a way to make use of the assistance. That, and she doubted his pencil arms were going to be of much help escaping the glue. It was far more likely that she’d pull him into the glue trap with her. Salbjörg’s face scrunched up like a raisin. "Can anyone help the ilithid?" She wanted to say "weakling," but she would have had to say "this weakling" which was undesirable for obvious reasons. She’d need to find a way around her speech impediment that didn’t involve transforming into a human.

Kleine’s efforts to free Salbjörg seemed a bit more sensible, just not for her. The massive, oversized spatula was a good idea, but she lacked the height to make use of it. The kobold, while stronger, had the same vertical challenges Kleine’had. "Hmph!" They had managed to free her legs, which she used to wrap around the spatula’s curved handle and pulled it further under herself. It was good that it wasn’t a wood spatula filled with splinters but why did it have to be made out of metal? Somehow the metal felt even colder than the floor did. But it got the job done. With most of her back free, she was able to free her arm and take Muste’s cane, at which point she could start to sit up. It was only getting easier to slide the spatula forward, at which point she finally came totally free. She nearly stumbled into the rescue party, but they were sensible enough to stand out of her way.

"Well done." She said with all the enthusiasm of someone who just had a fly land in their soup. Without making eye contact with anyone, she stumbled away from the glue trap. Her shoes stuck a little bit with each step. They had gotten her out, but she wasn’t clean yet.

There was something off about her balance too. And why did her chest feel so warm? A simple look down revealed that Zoppy had adhered herself to Sal’s pillow. She shrugged. It wasn’t like she hadn’t planned to start huddling with Zoppy for warmth anyway. Now Zoppy was hands-free, which was a good thing. But was she drooling? Sal positioned the little goblin’s sleeve under her mouth.

It wasn’t until she had taken a few more steps that she realized that her rib wasn’t bothering her as much. Yet her insides felt like they were burning. Sal placed a hand on her stomach and wondered what it could have been, but it didn’t take long to figure out. The bone needle she had been stabbed with was coated in her own venom. Muste had asked the Oracle to look her over, and she wouldn’t pester them. Best to find a place to sit and wait.

And the place where she decided to sit was next to Zogi’s corpse. It was the closest thing they had to an infirmary right now. Her eyes briefly flicked over to the disgusting display. While she hadn’t doubted Muste enjoyed human brains, it was different seeing him partake in them. "Ugh!" She recoiled and turned her eyes to the dead goblin. If he wasn’t interested in lapping this up, maybe he really did just like human brains. At least if an elf or beastman entered the dungeon she wouldn’t have to worry about his feeding habits.

But if desecrating the dead wasn’t an issue, maybe Zogi had something interesting on him. But other than his loincloth, which she had no desire to poke around in, all she found was his shard of authority. "He won’t be needing that." Salbjörg held up the stone. "What do we do with... The... Fragment he had?" She looked to Kleine for an answer.
@Lunafreya Miku While the idiot's dungeon union RP is full, this one is still accepting players and is much the same concept. So you might be able to app something for this if you're still interested.
