Shalan smiled softly in thanks as she took her bowl back and dug back in, eating a bit more slowly this round. Licking her lips, she looked up at Korra. "Ancient monsters, huh?" She glanced to Keiro, pondering which monsters, exactly, he'd actually faced. Dragons were of course the most fierce of ancient monsters, but they'd been absent from the world for a long time.
She blinked when Keiro leaned toward her and, instinctively, she straightened, subtly leaning away from him as she watched him. "Aeine?" The elf asked. It rang a bell. Falling silent, she thought quickly, placing the name with the large city she'd passed. "Oh, Aeine," Shalan nodded. "Uh, good, I suppose. It's still standing."
For a few seconds, she fell silent, and immediately a voice in her head chided her. This man and his daughter were opening their home to you, and you've been nothing but dodgy. Sighing, she poked her stew with her spoon. "I didn't go into the city. To be honest, as an elf, I face discrimination often. It gets worse in cities. As a single elf on the road, I get more than discrimination, and I prefer to steer clear of humans as often as I can." She fidgted, aware that the young girl beside her would possibly be curious as to what she meant. "It looked busy, though. Wagons of trade and children running about in play."
Going back to her meal, she got through half of her second bowl before she looked to Korra. "Which of your father's stories is your favourite?"

⟴ My partners must be 18 or Older
⟴ I prefer to ride under the mature content banner. I enjoy violence, intimacy, trauma, etc.
⟴ Casual to low advanced role playing is my general give. If you give shorter posts I will likely shrink mine to match. I give what I get. But one liners make my heart hurt.
⟴ I prefer medieval fantasy settings. I am horrible at space role plays and modern bores me.
⟴ As far as fandoms go, I enjoy Skyrim / Elder Scrolls, Tudor Dynasty, Throne of Glass, and Conan (though I'm not versed in the lore, I do play).
⟴ I don't enjoy writing with OP Mary Sues. Be realistic.
I will almost always jump into an Elder Scrolls related rp. It is my bread and butter. I really enjoy the setting.

XD bane says I'm a 'hard-ass'
Omg, last night was great. Bandages were supposed to come off. Dressing changed. Things like that. Painful stuff, right? Hostpial called to do a follow-up, asked about pain, if I had done the bandages, and, when I explained that I hadn't but my husband would later, I was told he was briefed on how to do it and he had been clean bandages.
Turns out, no. He was not given bandages. And when he sat down and looked at what he was supposed to do, he had no idea. Couldn't reach the APU, so we were like 'well, fuck.'
So I kid you not, after ranting on the wives page I'm on, one of the wives I have never met before came over and changed the dressings for me. She used to be an EMT. Literally, she showed up, lay my down, and pulled this mass amount of surgical tape off my ass and helped me out and showed my husband how to do it. XD
She was all "If we're not BFFs after this, I don't know what to think."
It was hilarious.
She also took a picture of the incision for me. Its gnarly looking.
