Really? You thought his backstory was too dark for One Piece!? Um...okay. You didn't think that Shabondy got really dark? Or that snowy bridge that Robin was sent to by Kuma? Or hell, even Hancock's backstory was pretty dark. Think about it; she's consider to be one of, if not the, most beautiful women in the world...and she was a slave of the World Nobles. By that point, I tended to think worst case scenario for anyone who was in slaved by them. And then there was that little girl that traveled with the Sun Pirates, she was broken. Or even Ace

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining or anything...I'm just confused as all hell. Sure One Piece is 99% lighthearted/hotblooded fun...but the other 1% is really fucking dark

...Okay, may as well actually explain why because it's unfair if I just drop with no explanation: the characters so far were making me feel a bit uneasy, but seeing Card Captor's intended backstory pretty much confirmed most of my worst fears about it and... I'm sorry but there's so many elements there that I find uncomfortable and unsettling and think are completely unfitting for the tone of One Piece and I honestly can't play alongside that, so it's pretty much the final nail in the coffin. Sorry. Hopefully something else will come up sooner or later. Sorry.

As Max's tiny boat landed on the shore, he got out and created a very large card. Slapping it down on the boat, he sealed it inside the card. That done, he put the card into his body for safekeeping. "So...this is Conomi Island" he said to himself "It seems so peaceful. Hard to believe that it's in the same world as the Grand Line." Pulling out a card with an apple in it, he released the fruit and began eating it. As he munched on his meal, he began to take a walk along the beach he landed on, listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the sand. "It's still hard to believe how far I've come, how much my life has changed these past few years. But I suppose just wandering around is still better then living there." It wasn't long before he caught sight of a village "people! It'll be nice to talk to someone after being alone on the ocean for so long" he said to himself as he ran off to the villiage in the distance

Nathan was slack jawed; this old man knew who...no, what he was. He wasn't scared of the crazy lady from before, since she was just a crazy lady...but this guy was different. Nathan knew he couldn't take him in a fight. Just as he was switching from fight to flight, he realized something; 'wait...this guy knew my parents!' While it might have seemed like a small thing given the gravity of his situation, it was far from that. It meant that instead of being someone who had uncovered his closest secret, he was an old family friend. That made all the difference. Going over everything that Azmaldus said, he decided that his story checked out so far. While he didn't know much about his parent's past, he did know that his mother used to spend a lot of time in a church, and that his dad was a traveler. Not only that, but he knew his dad's name. All things pointed to him telling the truth. 'I guess that person that I look so much like that he was talking about was my dad' he thought to himself. However, something was still bugging him "but I don't remember you at all before today. That means that if you ever saw me, it was as a baby. So...so how could you tell that I'm me...that I'm Neltharion?" he asked, using his real name for the first time in years

I wouldn't call the Fishmen 'vicious'. They're no more vicious then the other races. Although if the only Fishmen you've seen so far are the Arlong Pirates, then I can understand your misunderstanding
