Current Huh. Almost like using cocaine as an ingredient for your incredibly addicting but delicious soft drink... (The toxic part of Nuca Cola totally slipped my mind tbh).

Fair. Still an odd name for a drink. And I can definitely see Coke doing it as a last ditch effort to ensure the "legacy" would live on.

I don't know a lot about the lore of Fallout, but I imagine Nuka Cola is Coca Cola. So, does that mean, when shit was hitting the fan, Coke did the most insensitive rebrand they could think of? "YOLO"

Anomie Corrielus - The Shadow

New York City
The Previous Day
S.H.I.E.L.D Headquarters

She had officially been interrogated out of her ass, making her momentarily wonder if dying would have been simpler. With her track record of teammates dying on her missions, speaking of an 8 year old mutant who had managed to kill an entire cell of S.H.I.E.L.D agents had been a hard concept to grasp. Especially when said child was now dead she had been the only survivor… if one would call it that. Anomie had lost nearly 27% of her blood due to her injuries, and as soon as she was strong enough to walk, she had been whisked away into interrogation where they molested her mind.

By the time she was actually allowed to go, the whole ordeal felt like a lifetime ago and all she wanted to do was collapse into bed.

Dying would have been smoother and less stressful, but the desire to live was what had made her abandon her dying comrades and ultimately kill the unfortunate mutant who had followed her. The boy had lost control of his powers, being used as an experimental puppet for a terrorist organisation. She had tried to make up for her cowardice by downloading all the information on the terrorist group - which had ultimately led to the arrest and fall of a national threat, but she had a feeling that wouldn’t be able to get rid of the stain on her name.

“Ah, look at that, it’s the Shadow of a Coward.”

“For someone with nine lives, she was afraid to spare even one.”

“I see she still landed on her feet though, even if the blood of her comrades is on the ground.”

Anomie supposed she did see the taunting coming, but nothing could prepare her completely for the whispering. The wound was fresh and every word brought a further sting her skin. She could tell the other agents had no care for her, most calling her Coward in hushed tones as she strode down the hall, attempting to keep her head held high as their words clouded her mind.

They always left the dirty missions to her; the gritty immoral ones that nobody wanted to touch, and then judged her for carrying them out. And as she read over the file for her next mission, she raised a single eyebrow at her supervisor who went by the same of Soren. “Is this S.H.I.E.L.D’s nice way of telling me I’m suspended? Putting me on a team of children?”

His lips twitched upwards in amusement as he replied to her “Most of them are in your age demographic…”

Her amber irises slid right, glancing towards her fellow newcomers, lingering for a fraction of a second before flickering back to Fury’s famed heroes. She had been waiting there for some time by this stage and she had to wonder if this uneventful security detail was some kind of sick joke handed down from the Director - she definitely wouldn't put it past him. Restlessness was an unusual feeling for The Shadow... but then again, everything about the mission felt unusual.

Her lips parted slightly so to voice these strange unusual feelings to Soren, only to be bitterly disappointed as she remembered he had not accompanied her. She slightly released the unnecessarily tight grip she had unconsciously held her forearm, only for the feeling of absolute muscle exhaustion to seep down her wrist and flood into her fingers like her body had been poisoned. Her eyes narrowed and she stretched her fingers before hiding the tremble once more by dropping her folded arms and placing her hand on her hip, her fingers digging into the denim material of her high waisted short-shorts.

It seemed quite often nowadays that she found herself wondering just when she'd grown so weak... mentally and physically. The lack of sleep and insufficient amount of food were rapidly catching up with her, but the thought of any substance in her body caused the burn in her throat to creep upwards and the idea of sleep sent shivers down her spine as the screams of those who once were echoed through her memories, the same way they plagued her dreams every time she dared close her eyes. Too many times had she jolted awake in the dead of the night - coated in the blood of innocents, only to find, after hours of scrubbing, that it had only been sweat.

She had once wondered whether or not she'd ever be able to wash the blood off. She had since found the answer... and it was no.

She hadn’t much to say about The Libertist’s explanation, nor did her expression change much, save for a slight frown of distaste in the team name. Her eyes narrowed into a small glare for a moment as her gaze found Fury; for some reason she felt like she was being punished… but the thought would exit her mind as soon as it came, interrupted by the flashy entrance of the Wakandan King. She shuffled to place her weight on her other leg, her oversized white sweater falling off her shoulders slightly, allowing the milky white skin to peek out, dipping into shadow as it stretched over her collarbone.

Sick joke or not, this was a mission… and to walk away now would starve her life of purpose.

Now, I'm not going to make you take it away. The only way it would work, is if she can only use it to control bodies that are unconscious. It makes more sense that way, as she wouldn't be able to overpower someone's conscious mind as she isn't a telepath. Flying into bodies while conscious, could be used for a desperate situation to sustain herself in the body of someone else without control for example. That can work.

With those changes though, I can accept you into the lineup. Thank you for cooperating.

Good ideas! Sweet. Can and will do :)
I shall add the changes when I get to a computer! Thanks!
Hm...Everything seems okay up to the ability of controlling people by entering their bodies. Yes, it may be hard for her to do so, but, that'd still be a form of "Godmodding." if one isn't too careful. Further, I am not given the implication that you read the rules above simply skimming them. There really aren't that many, but one is very particular.

So until those needs are met, your application is put on hold.

No problemo, didn’t plan to use that ability too much. Was more of an Alt if anything that would be last resort. Didn’t plan on misuse. I did forget to mention that people can attempt to reject her and unless completely caught off guard, anyone on Avenger level or so would probably succeed, and if she does catch someone off guard, if they fight hard enough against it, her stamina would drain pretty severely. But if you’d like me to change it or take out I can. No biggie.

And sorry about the rule thing, read them over, but must have missed that last one.

Original Character

Anomie Corrielus
The Shadow

Age:
Twenty

Gender:
Female

Sexual Preference:
Ladies, Gents and the Techni-coloured Rainbow In Between (she could never deny a pretty face)

Skills and Powers:
Anomie’s ability allows her to turn her body either partially or fully, into smoke to serve various purposes. While in her smoke form she becomes impervious to damage and can use this trait to gain an opportunity in battle; for example, by allowing weapons to slip through her without any effects. However, if needed, she can still interact with physical objects.

In her smoke form, she’s also capable of entering a person's body, effectively possessing them - however she is only able to do this in a body that lacks a conscious mind. The target has to be unconscious for her to be able to "possess" them. While taking the unconscious body over, she’s capable of controlling their physical actions and experiencing all of their sensations, such as tasting the food they eat. The ability can also be used offensively by entering the opponent's body to oxidise them from inside. Every part of their body can be attacked from the inside by the smoke, causing great pain, and on occasion, even death.

Entering one's body however, takes great stamina and is not easily maintained. If Anomie is worn down, she risks shredding herself in the process. She does not have complete control of this ability in general, she has been known to transform into smoke without intending to do so, or the opposite - the smoke begins to dissipate and returns to her human form. This has been partially stabilised with intense physical training.

Her greatest weakness is wind. While transformed, she is vulnerable to wind gusts, as dispersion while in her smoke form is fatal. She can ride on the wind slightly, but if it is too strong, her body will be torn apart.

Anomie is proficient in close quarters combat, hand to hand and sword skills. Her small frame allows her movements to be nimble and swift - her body is feeble however, making it easy to overpower her with brute strength.

Biography:
Anomie doesn’t remember much of her childhood, and the things she does, she keeps to herself. A child ripped from her mother, the horrors of child slavery, the calming lull of a woman's voice as she plucked at her koto… the bruises, the blood, the rough hands. Needless to say, her childhood was non existent.

However, at the ripe age of thirteen, the underground slave ring was brought to a grinding halt by S.H.I.E.L.D, and she was saved. Pulled out of the hell she was in, she was taken into custody and went under physical and psychiatric evaluation where she would be classed as a mutant. Later, she would be deemed unfit for civilian life and would be trained as an agent.

Other:
Anomie cannot retain her clothing when she turns to smoke form, which is incredibly inconvenient.
