I finally got around to watching A Silent Voice. Very nice to see some deaf culture representation in anime.

@effervescentF I will! I'm thinking of starting a thread in one of the discussion sections dedicated to tracking my experiences as a first time pet owner learning to train and look after a puppy.

It's mostly just an excuse to post lots of pictures of the puppy.
I don't think I'll be able to join this after all. My schedule is very inconsistent right now.

Also I'll be getting a puppy very soon, so that will just leave me even more swamped (with joy, of coarse). I was very keen on joining this, but I need to be selective with my roleplays right now so I'm afraid I won't be finishing up that character.

Good luck to you all though, I wish you the best for this charming rp.

good, but I'll still be jealous

I so wanna dalmation pup

I just finished organising it with the breeder. The pups are predicted to be born in mid october. At 6 weeks she's coming into town to get them vaccinated, chipped and screened for deafness. At that point, I can visit them at the vet and put a deposit on the pup I want. Then at 8 weeks I need to drive out of town to go and pick it up. I'm quite excited!

We absolutely understand! If you ever change your mind, I would be more than happy to have you back in some magical way later on. I hope your puppy is lots of fun!

I'm so excited for it! Thank you for being so understanding; hopefully I will be able to rejoin in the future.
STORY TIME!

I came out to my extended family on our recent trip down South for my newborn cousin's Christening. My family on mum's side is very heavily Catholic and while I wouldn't exactly call them 'homophobes', they're level of tolerance isn't the best. Like, they seem like they don't mind LGBT+ people, but wouldn't know how to handle it if they were related to one (Which they are... have been for a very long time, actually).

So usually when I go down there I put on a smile and go along with all the comments of 'So you found yourself a girlfriend yet?' or 'When are you gonna bring home a nice girl?'. However over the last few years I've noticed that my willingness to go along with those comments, which make me quite uncomfortable, has pretty much deteriorated.

So Sunday lunch, I'm sitting across from my Grandpa and he asks me;
"So, you chasing after any girl right now?". Almost immediately and without thought I blurted out,
"No, I don't chase after girls". There were a couple of uneasy stares; relatives trying to figure out what I was trying to say (Though if I'm being honest they knew EXACTLY what I was trying to say). My grandfather just laughs it off and obliviously retorts with,
"I see! They chase after you then?". Old me would have just smiled and nodded and left it at that; but your boy wasn't having any of that shit.
"No Grandpa," I said, "I like men. I am gay". Let me tell you, I've never bring more proud to bring an entire table to stunned silence in my life. My parents, who already knew and have supported me for years, are just sitting there going on with a conversation because it's old news to them and they couldn't care less who I date (gender wise). My Grandpa is silent, not really knowing what to say, and my Grandma is trying to change the subject like;

The rest of the lunch was adequately awkward but all things considered, I think they took it pretty well. To be honest though, I don't really care how they took it. I only see them once a year for a couple hours anyway. But yeah, that was my weekend/coming out to the rest of my family story.
I'm afraid I'll have to drop out of this. My work schedule has left me very busy and I'm afraid I don't think I'll be able to keep up with everyone. I wouldn't want people to be waiting on me all of the time.

Normally I'd manage, but I'm welcoming a Dalmatian puppy into my life very soon. Taking care of the little guy is going to take up most of my free time, so I need to limit the roleplays I'm involved in.

Thank you very much for having me, and I hope you all continue to enjoy the RP!
As much as it pains me to say it, I think it would be for the best if I leave this RP. My schedule has been jam packed, leaving my ability to work on posts/pesterlogs very inconsistent. I don't want to have people waiting on me all the time.

Normally I would be able to manage, but I'll soon be welcoming a beautiful Dalmatian puppy into my home. I'm very excited for this of coarse, but it also means I'm going to be even busier. So I'm afraid I'll be dropping out. I do hope you all get to enjoy this RP to the fullest and I look forward to hopefully rping with some of you in the future.
@Caits don't worry ill be posting all the pictures! Gonna anmoy the crap out of my Facebook friends.
People don't sound very happy D:

Hopefully this cheers you up;

I've decided, after a bit of a think and a cry, to welcome a beautiful Dalmation puppy into my home!

I'm still talking with the breeder who has a litter due very soon, so hopefully by Christmas I'll be able to pick him up and take him home. The breeder lives 5 hours away but it will be so worth it.
I do wonder what all these incredibly powerful students have to gain from attending the academy. They seem like they've got their powers down. They could be teachers.
