Kenshi

"Good job hime-sama. I'm sure this will go swimmingly." Kenshi's voice was well mixed with sarcasm and his own frustration, "You're just as crazy as ever."

THe silver-haired boy picked up the megaphone from the class rep and walked up on to the stage with his kendo bokkun slung over his shoulder. A few quick strides and he stood atop the box, the megaphone rising to his mouth. Some of the younger students where puzzled over the fact that Kenshi was carrying a woodnen sword, some thought he wanted to be a certain silver haired samurai, his hair already fit well with it. But in reality, He had a responsibility to actually act like a student council member, unlike Sakura who was so aloof, she honestly looked like a better fit in one of the older animes he watched.

"ATTENTION!" Kenshi's voice boomed like a military commander's, almost to the point of the president's voice, "Students of Yamaku, my name is Hayabusa Kenshi. I am your Student Disciplinary Chairman and have authority over you second to only Sakura-sama. I would like to remind you to stay vilgilant to the rules as they will be enforced. If you have any personal doubts, come find me and I will ensure you will follow them one way or the other."

Kenshi brushed away his bangs and adjusted his eyepatch as he stabbed the tip of his bokkun into the box under him, "As a general reminders: do not run in the hall way or you will be running suicides, do not leave trash lying about or you will be cleaning up the entire school's trash alone, do not wear obscene clothing as you will be forced to wear the "Sweater of Shame" if you do."

Kenshi pointed his sword to a moldy old brown sweater that was clearly past its prime by a good three centuries and a half with a label that said "I will not wear perverse clothing". Loudly hammering the box with his sword, he got everyone's attention and resumed talking,

"Do not fight on school grounds since your next fight will be with me personally and I promise I prefer not to injury and of you more than many of you already are. ANd lastly, I hope that we can all have a good year together and you all stay out of trouble, for your own sake."

With that, the stern boy slung his sword once more over his shoulder and tossed the megaphone to another class rep. Just like Sakura, he probably made some enemies in that and was expecting some hot head to try and best him later. At least he'd get some easy experience out of it should it actually arise. When a good deal of your body is plastic and metal, beating down flesh isn't exactly too much of a challenge.

"I'll be in the dojo is anyone needs me. I should be in the office in a hour or so." Kenshi waved behind him without turning his head, he had no need for trivial mannerism at this point, he just need more practice.
Name:
Hayabusa Kenshi

Age:
15, Second Year

Disability:
Multiple prosaic limbs (left leg, right hand and right kneecap), blind in left eye

Personality:
Kenshi is diligent and very handworking, especially when it comes to kendo. He often appears cold or apathetic to others and as some tsundere tendencies. Prone to rage fits and outbursts, he hates people who insult family or people who are overall jerks. His work as the Disciplinary Chairman only cements his serious attitude and no nonsense demeanor.

He also has a "kinder" side which involves him being a NEET more or less, binge watching anime and playing games. Despite outcry from some teachers and adults, his grades still remain at a good level so he gets away with it.

Biography:
Kenshi's father died to a chronic illness when he was only five, telling him to "be strong and protect your little sister and mom". Taking those words to heart, he decided that kendo would be the best way to protect his mom and little sister, Yui. He maintained good grades as he went to daily lessons at the local dojo and rose to a respectable position in it. When he was 11, he had met Arisaka Touka at the dojo and the two instantly fell in love with each other, training togther in pairs and going out on dates on the weekends.

Unfortuantely, when Kenshi was 14, his good fortune took a change. As he, Touka and Yui were going out to an amusemnt park (his mother was working late and asked the two to keep Yui entertained), they were attack by muggers. Despite bravely defeating them, all three of them were worse for wear. Kenshi took the brunt of the damage, being stabbed multiple times including once in the eye and blacked out. Yui was covered in bruises and had her arm broken but would live. Touka was stabbed at least once and was knocked out cold.

Three days later he would wake up in a hospital, he discovered that his former girlfriend had lost her memory, forgetting who Kenshi was outside of a classmate. Devistated, he mourned as if they had both died, seeing both Touka and Yui as symbols of his failure to protect them. He remembered his father's words and how he had failed him, promising to get stronger no matter what. Since then, he has been living with his uncle and aunt so he doesn't have to face his mother and sister, attending both mental and physical therapy, picking up martial arts along side his kendo and transferring to Yamaku Academy in hopes of starting anew.

Misc Info:
- He spends a huge amount of energy and time on kendo and martial arts, despite the fact he often manages to injure himself as he hasn't quite got his balance or grip with his new limbs.
- He named his Bokkun (wooden kendo sword), "Blade of Hope" as it was a gift from his uncle who gave it to him as to try and cheer him up. Has the family crest stamped into the handle
- Secretly writes a light novel series known as "Watashi wa genjitsu no sekai de tachiōjō fantajī no hīrōdesu" (Watachji Hirodesu), meaning "I'm a fantasy hero stuck in the real world", under the the pen name "Seto Karashi". The story follows a group of fantasy RPG characters who are taken out of their game and force to live in the real world with much of the story them trying to adapt to modern technology and life while trying to get promoted at their work, McJangles. Has a sizable following (Think a combination of The Devil is a Part Timer and a reversed SAO or Log Horizon).
- More to come later.
Started work on a Navy tab and completed the army.

Also *facepalms* I thought I was done with Kataylabinsk, Yamatia and those damn elves...

You will never escape us until you become one of us!

*Chants "one of us"*

Also, you misspelled Yamatai >.>

@Mihndar
Time for glorious Soviet music for the masses!

Also, to @Willy Vereb and Mihndar, will we be using the relations between our nations as they were originally or have them be altered? Since this version of Yamatai is significantly more open than the older iteration.
Clocktower, how big is your island?

I am going to say something like 3/4 of Japan's size or something close

@ClocktowerEchos Give me a location, even if it's just drawing on the map in MSPaint. But, you're accepted in principle.

As of right now think of its general location to be between Japan and Hawaii leaning more toward the Hawaiian side but further to the south.
I'll try to get a picture up later.
*tears up*

this is such beautiful poetry.

*cries every time*
I have a feeling that using the force and force choking will be popular amongst Air-using Drakkans. Now to see if we can some how make force lighting to go zap people...

*evil laugh*
Geh... Okay, that is all I'll be writing for tonight. God, that took longer than I expected it too.

Tell me if I derped anywhere or something needs changing/clarification/formatting and I'll see to it tomorrow.
+Nation Name:
Empire of Yamatai

+Leader:
Emperor Shitatsu Shou

+Allegiance:
Neutral (Will change depending on IC events)

+Government:
Constitutional monarchy (Emperor as head of state with a senate of lords)

+History:
From its previous world, Yamatai boasts a strong military tradition and a society built upon honor, harmony, order and above all, loyalty. Its people are ferociously devoted to the Emperor as a result of generations of intense propaganda.

However, they find themselves on a precarious position between two rival powers from their now isolated island in the middle of the Pacific, the Japanese and the Americans. Forced to take a side, they feel culturally closer to the Japanese but denounce their ways as "disgraceful" and thus some lean towards the Americans. Only time and politics will determine whose side the nation will take.

+Culture:
Yamatai culture is very close to that of Japans although its noted that the people of Yamatai are... "free spirited and open". Beyond huge amounts of locality and respect they have for the Imperial family, the nature of the clothing surprises foreigners as much as the near authoritarian state.

Although it is long thought that the old caste system had been dissolved, there are still hints of the ancient relic in modern Yamatai life. Elite soldiers often come from the former warrior caste and the high ranking government officials and wealth business owners can trace their origins to the former noble class. The police also have a tendency of discriminating the former peasant, merchant and craftsmen caste to some extent.

For what appears to be a very dystopian civilization, there is some interesting twists to Yamatai. The difference between men and women is slim and in some cases women are preferred over men. People are allowed to say whatever they want about the country and the government as long as they don't publish it or say before a large audience. While some might see them as aggressive with their toleration-eqsue state and forced conscription, the Yamatai people are surprisingly calm and lax most of the time. Recent visitors. sometimes joke that before the Yamatai came here, they first sought the British for manners. Visitors also have a ver unique spot in Yamatai as the people are curious about their new neighbors and are noticeably more polite and curious when around them.

Economically, its a mix of free market and government controlled with more leans towards free market, street side food carts and sidewalk markets are common. The government has a heavy focus on raw resources instead of finished products meaning they only strictly watched and subsidized. Monopolies are a common sight on the island with a running joke that you can count the number of companies with your hands. Too keep them under control, the Emperor uses his own "inspectors" to "advise" the CEOs and hold them accountable to a code of honor with punishment being exile and the dismantling of the business should they fail it. So far it has worked well.

For the most part however, it is best described as a blend of Chinese and Japanese culture.

+Military:
The Yamatai Inperial Army (YIA) and the Yamatai Imperial Navy (YIN) operate mostly around the island and its surrounding waters. The occasional envoy or expeditionary force can be seen else where namely in Japanese and American waters. Sailors and soldiers who are on these trips often bring gifts to the local people by order of the Emperor in an attempt to improve diplomatic standings.

Here's the original NS that this was adapted from. Take into account that this was for a different NRP so there are some discrepancies.
