Sorry for my absence! A Volunteering position suddenly turned into a Volunteer Leadership position I was not expecting at all so things have been hectic.

Look at you posers, having to bang dragons or sell your soul for magic when you could just play a lute for some. Anyways, here's Wonderwall. - Bards

@TheodorableQuickly looked over the IC, noticed a mistake. You put the Deigo guy as the Prime Minster, he's actually just a senator
Reposting here ^^

Huh, I have never seen Mad Max or anything like that, though admittedly I have played Fallout religiously, so this should be new. You have my Interest.

Here are your rolls!

@Ophidian Closest thing I could find to the Soviet Anthem x Yakety Sax but I still feel it does the neo-sov justice!

<Snipped quote by ClocktowerEchos>

Oh, they're not that oppressive. Or willing to kill their own citizens. There's just....alot of quiet desperation to them. But I understand the confusion.

They're sort of inspired, partially, by the purity faction in Beyond Earth. Clinging to the past because the present has kicked them around but good, often with the technology someone said would be a salvation. Seeing other factions running around with tech they've seen abused, they know can be abused, in horrible ways...

Well.

I'd start to polish my artillery pieces too.

...

And I'm saving that link.

The armies of neo-Sov SPESS MAHREENS shall march to battle under the heroic old world tunes of Yakety Sax and the works of Mire Fixtape! They shall strike endless fear into the hearts of the enemy!

Coincidentally, such musical masterpieces are all that the government has allowed the people to listen to thus causing many to think that Terrans did in fact play these songs at elaborate opera and performance halls and thinking of the songs as the highest cultural peak of humanity and have based their entire musical culture around the teachings of Mire Fixtape, a master artist of sound in his time.
@Ophidian Not going to lie, I honestly thought that the Neo-Sovs were basically the Imperium of Man only with communism instead of religion.

And here's another equally fitting national anthem!
Tiniest Empires

"Let me tell you a story, one which thous shall never believe.
Doth ye know of the tiny miniatures some enjoy playing games with and the insects that crawl everywhere?
What if I told you, they came to life and intelligence. And in one house, they made empires.
Would thou believe me?"

Inspired by @Yennefer's Little Wars NRP and Rogue Vector's 40k - ToyHammer fanfic, comes Tiniest Empires. Players will play as various factions who all inhabit a two story summer home on the west coast owned by some random family of rich east coasters. Given their limited resources, the inhabitants make use of what they can from and of the house as well as local dumpsters and stores to create weapons, armor, and clothes when needed. That being said these creatures are resourceful and have found ways to forge what they find into beautiful, and deadly works.

The inhabitants themselves are divided into two "races", Animus Minorus (Miniatures) and Animus Creatura (Small animals/insects). Both of them should be fairly self explanatory, Miniatures are the figures from tabletop games such as DnD, 40k, etc who have come to life and the Creatures are generally animals or insects that are but 2.5 inches tall. (Note: The Miniatures aren't actually miniatures given life but actual beings just on a much smaller scale.) Regardless of their origins, they now inhabit various "sectors" of the house, also known as the "Great House" in various tongues. There will be various tech levels at play here but I have confidence in people's ability to be able to sort things out and not rofl stomp all over each other.

Now let us see if this will actually work or flop or just get filled with 40k stuff

Thank you Echo, your parody is the light of my experience on this site.

Then let us honor the memory of the furry space communist with fitting music that I propose be the athemn of the Neo-Sovs.
Neo-Sov in a nutshell:

You've got the so-called core colonies-the ones that went all in on communism, and built their entire identity around it. These poor SOBs had the misfortune to be the first ruled by the pain-slave using aristocrats and their AI friend.

"We know the meaning of BDSM! Bolsheviks, Domination, Stalin and Masochism!"

Then you've got what I'll be calling the Hivers-cybernetic colonists, adopting themselves to a harsh, arctic environment. Based out of massive, sprawling cities built around geothermal vents-or "human hives" if you will.

"We're techno-barbarian eskimo dwarves! :D"

Then you have the Confederates-a loose group of miners, and rough and tumble types settled on a string of questionably habitable, resource-rich worlds. These guys love their hardsuits.

"Mhmmmmmmmmm... look at dat hardsuit Johnny, doncha wanna just blow your molten alloys all over dat thang?"

Finally, you've got the genetically engineered super soldiers I mentioned, originally a US marine unit, co-opted and brutally modified by the AI, these guys look human, but they're a shit ton deadlier and their genetic code could, charitably, be called "fucked".

"WE ARR SPEHSS MAHREENS. WE WIHLL CRUSH URR METAL BAWKSES WIDTH OURA STEEL REHN. YEW KOWARDZ N' TEH FEWLZ!!"

The Premier could also be called "chief cat herder".

"Did you know that space Stalin was a shepherd and has a cat fetish?"
"Does that make him a furry space communist Jesus?"
