Sorry for my absence! A Volunteering position suddenly turned into a Volunteer Leadership position I was not expecting at all so things have been hectic.

Look at you posers, having to bang dragons or sell your soul for magic when you could just play a lute for some. Anyways, here's Wonderwall. - Bards

Jailed for being an edgy anarchist.
Could be that teleportation or whatever is a forbidden/rare/lost school of magic that was outlawed or something and thus very, very few people know of it. I would assume that one popular method of assassination was to teleport a bit of metal into someone's head, killing them instantly without any proof of who did it.
Definitely interested, but I have a question. You mentioned that since the stores are so large, the different different departments only see eachother as myths and have little to no interaction. Does that mean that the RP will be confined to one department? When I was reading over the backstory, my first impressions was that the departments had different relationships with each other such as trade, like the "roofers" you mentioned trading the drinkable water they are so proficient at acquiring to the pharmacy department for medical supplies and such. It's just a suggestion anyways, If you're still accepting I'll make a CS.

I'm planning for this to go over several different areas and departments although some might just be traveling through (read: timeskips) as to opposed to exploring.

And yes, we are still accepting :>
What's your idea?
@stardustIf I may, I suggest changing the status from "Jump In" to "Apply". Otherwise people can just go to town posting IC without ever going to you first for approval.
@stardust Because I got bored, I decided to try and make some more background information for this. Consider it a favor if you wish. Use it or don't, its up to you.

STARS ABLAZE

Once we had it all. Once we ruled the stars unquestioned. Once we were gods. Once upon a time.

But in our hubris, we toyed with elements and devices never meant for us and attempted to go from mortals with godly powers to true gods. With all of our technology and brilliance, we crafted World Anchors and sought ascend by breaking holes and rifts into the very fabric of the universe. It didn't take us long and our project was a success and we tore rifts into the universe, but we never went into them for something came out.

Hordes of beings from other universes and armadas of hulking beasts forced themselves out of the worlds beyond and into our own. We thought us gods, but that day we were shown how weak we were. Entire systems burned under their attack and the stars themselves wept tears of blood. For all we made, all we discovered, all we boasted, they were for naught. They came at us with such numbers and such ferocity that we could never hold them back, loosing world after world, discovery after discovery, fleet after fleet. They brought us to our knees and undone hundreds of years of brilliance and sent us unto a era scarred with blood and destruction, the End Times.

The rifts however, soon brought more than just ravenous hordes, but heroes from other world and universes. With them, we finally found the numbers and strength to match them. No longer did we suffer and pray that they would skip over worlds for now we could fight them back. The war continues to this day and more have died than we care to count now and we may never recover but we fight on, not just for our worlds, but all worlds in this realm and beyond.

No matter the cost, we will fight back. We will never surrender. We will know no mercy. We will defend our own. We shall not go quietly into the night. We. Will. Win. We shall be ever victorious in this, Age of Stars Ablaze!
I associate wisdom and intelligence and that to mages, not willpower. That's usually more for like warriors.
Speaking of magic, I have an idea. How about that mages draw powers from an arcane realm but its based on their will power in addition to their intelligence. Basically, those with greater willpower can more easily draw up a spell but those who are more learned can use stronger spells. So while just about anyone can snap their fingers and draw up a spark or a candle flame, only mages can actually pull out a fireball or something.

I would also suggest that people have an innate "magic protection" that's based upon their will power.
@AndreyichI was hoping that some how I could just forgo the warp-crack and use normal powder and shot with the jezzail if its possible. I would go for a Hochland but I know from lore that those things are supposed to be a bit rare and I highly doubt that they'd willingly give on to a dropout.
I'm tentatively interested and thinking about an Imperial Gunnery School dropout with remarkably good aim. Would him some how being able to find a jezzail be too much? Should I just stick to him having a modified musket of some kind?

Also, should note I will be on vacation next week so yeah.
On the idea of travelling contients, what if there was something like a World Roots system or an Arcane Web that espeically talented/qualified individuals could take as means of instant transport? Could expand it that people have managed to make "rail cars" to transport others ot just have people be able to use them but have to pay for it like an airplane ticket to use the gate or something. Could also have people attempting to make their own gates or accidently coming across one in the wild if htey were made a long timeago.
