Silas Asara

"Well, I was kind of under the impression that him saying 'thorn bush' was merely a trivialization of something else that could actually, you know, cause damage like that."

In spite of the answers given, Silas believed that the two seniors were trying to trick them. Or rather one of the seniors, he truly did feel sorry for the girl and Silas really did want to help her get out of the forest if she was that scared of the dark. Something about the guy rubbed him the wrong way though, he was up to something and Silas knew it! He even asked both him and Vera to pretend they never saw him, and that reeked of shady intentions. With Vera's mention of 'something that could cause damage like that' Silas couldn't help but let his mind wander.

It would need to be able to cut someone, and whatever it is could still be out there. Like a wild animal! Or maybe a person! Or maybe- NO. Stop it! Don't freak out over what 'it' could be while 'it' might not even exist! Wait a second... maybe that WAS his plan... First freak us out about something in the forest so we're on edge, then swoop in for the kill! Hah! I've figured you out you smug bastard!

Silas couldn't help but triumphantly grin as he thought to himself, his mistrust wasn't groundless after all. There was no way in hell that some senior student would get the drop on him tonight!

"Well, we don't even know where we are right now, do we? Our best chance is to follow this path to the fountain anyway and see what happens from there. I recall him saying 'if' we find the headmaster, meaning that probably nobody actually knows where he is - Oh, could that have been hint that the headmaster is at the fountain? In that case, we should be really careful when, and if we make it there."

"If? Nah, more like when we make it there. The fountain's just beyond one of the three paths they showed us right? So that's a 1 in 3 chance at winning. If we get it wrong, we just go back and pick one of those other two. We'll get there, and if he isn't there then..."

He choked on the end of his sentence, a look of frustration spreading across his face and a hand at his side balled into a fist. He was stuck, he couldn't win. If they didn't find the Headmaster, the girl would be left scared in the dark forest, not to mention that Silas would feel terrible about the victory for a long time. If they did find the Headmaster, not only would his chances of winning the run be forfeit, Vera would also likely be caught and eliminated. Would she hate him for that? Damned if you do, Damned if you don't... Silas paused and let out a sharp breath before looking at Vera.

What if she was in that position? Could you leave her alone and afraid in the dark?

The words of his own conscience had betrayed him and cut him like a knife. Silas quickly turned away from her. He couldn't leave her in the dark. The thought of Vera being alone and afraid in the forest because of his selfish actions made Silas sick to his stomach."Damn it all..." he muttered to himself as he wiped the sweat from his face. Mustering his courage, Silas turned back to face Vera. Unfortunately for Silas his face was an open book right now, reading of both sadness and frustration.

"S-sorry about that. We should get going now, yeah?"

Aaron Rucasi

He was trapped. Suspended in a black void, unable to move his body. All he could do was listen as a voice ethereal spoke in a tone that burned both his mind and soul.

It was all fake. The you who was truthful at all costs and times, how ironic that his life and self were the greatest lie of them all. Every word cut like a knife, as if the voice was some sort of twisted and malicious surgeon operating on his psyche. The voice cackled as he tried to move his body, all efforts proving futile. You know that you are weak, yet you still resist... How amusing. There was a pause, and for a brief moment he was allowed respite from the voice, but mere moments later it returned. This time however the voice was less abrasive than before. You are indeed weak, but that does not make you powerless. The power that your enemies hold is not their own, it is stolen strength. It does not belong to them, and so it must be taken back, it must be reclaimed. The pain in his head was dulling and the voices tone warming with each passing moment. You will be the one to take it back. You will show them that the stolen power they wield is not theirs... His body was moving on it's own now, outstretching both of his arms as if he were trying to reach out to the dark void. He watched as a white light ignited on his fingertips and started spiraling up both of his arms. The light worked its way over his forearms and biceps, coiling around them like twin snakes before stopping at his shoulders as the voice echoed once more. Their power... is yours to take. Before he had any time to try and understand, the void fell away as he regained consciousness.

Aaron found himself waking up face down and almost in a pile of shattered rocks, likely the same rock that was a part of the ceiling moments ago. He heard someone laughing and his entire body felt weak and exhausted. Trying to gather his thoughts, he closed his eyes for a moment and focused. What the hell was that weird dream about... Stolen power? Weak but not powerless? Makes no sense... An involuntary groan escaped his lips as Aaron slowly pushed himself off the cave floor. Quickly he discovered that his legs still were weak and faltering as his balance was in shambles, so he grabbed at a nearby stalagmite and used it to support himself.

"Ughh... fucking hell..." he muttered.

Breathing heavily, he looked around at the scene of carnage and dismay that had been painted. Dean was the first one Aaron caught sight of. Hold on, were his hands on fucking FIRE just now? Have I gone insane? His bewilderment continued as... Valerian? Viktor? Vladimir? Vance? ...Whoever the hell actually approached Dean, which was an oddity for that kid. He caught Greg checking on some other students, something Aaron made a note to do as soon as he finished looking around. There was also heavy amounts of ash, the ashes of the less fortunate students littering the cave. Just thinking about the other's fate made him sorrowful and fearful, but at the same time he was thankful that he was lucky enough to live.

He didn't understand any of these... emotions in the slightest, but Aaron sure as hell felt every one of them clashing in his newly awoken mind. For the first time he was... confused, he didn't know what to think or how to act in such a situation.

"Is anyone hurt? Please, check yourselves if anyone is injured and have them lay down until help comes."

The teacher's instruction rang out and ripped Aaron's train of thought away from the rising storm of emotions within, but something was different. Usually Aaron would find solace in rules and directions, however now that comfort had vanished. Even still he would respond, but another thought came to his head. Telling the others he felt weak would not help the situation at all, in fact it could make it worse, so Aaron felt compelled to lie despite his truthful nature. Why do I not... Why do I want to... this whole situation is insane!

Looking to the others, Aaron finally spoke through ragged and heavy breaths.

"I'm... alright... Everyone else? Also... was it just me... or were Dean's hands on fire a second ago?"

Name: Aaron Rucasi

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Desire: "I want to- No. I will take this broken and false existence back from the angels, until humanity holds everything in this world once more. Earth belongs to humanity, and I will reclaim our right to rule it by taking down the angelic regime... piece by piece."

Ability: Aaron possesses the ability to drain energy from objects or living beings and store this power within him briefly before redistributing this energy into another being or object. This can be as simple as draining an enemy's stamina and giving that energy to an ally, or Aaron could drain electric energy from a nearby device and temporarily render it powerless.

Weapon: A dual-bladed glaive with an axe-like blade at each end of the staff. The pole portion of the glaive is made of a smooth, black metal, and the blades are a bright silver colour in comparison.

Personality: Prior to his awakening, Aaron was a self-sacrificing and honest person who always preferred following to leading. If someone was in need of support, you could always find Aaron nearby, trying to help in any way he could. Always one to follow the rules and create order from chaotic situations, Aaron was a gentle peacekeeper who would stand for no disorder.

But that personality, much like this existence proved itself to be a twisted and deceptive lie, told by the merciless angels.

Now, with his eyes and soul opened to the truth of desire, the truth of being human; Aaron's personality has shifted greatly. His entire personality has become acidic, with sarcasm, insults and spite abound. His almost compulsive need to follow rules has disappeared, but he still prefers to plan a situation out before jumping in head first. His honesty has vanished, preferring skillfully told lies to blunt truths. Yet he still cannot turn a blind eye to friends in need, a fragment of his old persona shining through.
Also, @CriticalHit, You are officially and unanimously Green-lighted. You may make your intro post to the IC, ASAP. ^_^

"O~i!"

The sudden yell pierced through the eerily quiet night and grabbed Silas's attention swiftly. The source seemed to be a pair of student's silhouettes slumped on the forest floor, whom Silas likely wouldn't have noticed otherwise. The exact shapes of the figures was obscured, but it seemed like they were trying to call both himself and Vera towards them for reasons unknown.

Well that's pretty fucking creepy.

He caught an uncertain glance from Vera, and returned merely a shrug. Regardless of their shared uncertainty, Vera started moving towards the shadowy figures and Silas followed close behind her. They had come pretty far together, there was no sense in leaving one person to investigate the voice. As they got closer, the shades were revealed to be a pair of senior students. The boy looked pretty banged up, and the girl had tears in her eyes, they didn't look like they wanted to prank the first-years. Even so Silas kept his guard up, these guys could just be a distraction after all!

"Pretend you didn't see us. If you find the headmaster, can you tell him to send a runner? The main path should be one of these three,"

The HEADMASTER?! He knows about the midnight run?

Not a second after the boy had asked them to help, did the blonde senior burst into tears and latch on to her black haired boyfriend. Silas was surprised yet again as Vera fell back on to him and took hold of his arm. Confusion had involuntarily spread across his face as he met her gaze, he wasn't opposed to her doing this, it was just unexpected. A small chuckle escaped Silas's lips as she released his arm and spun herself away from him, but the humour of the moment was quickly left behind as the seniors were still there watching.

"Oh dear, we definitely will, Thank you for telling us the way."

"Yeah, thanks for the assist. We'll let the Headmaster know if we see him."

With the request of the senior's heard out, all that was left was to pick a path. Silas looked to Vera as she gestured to a path.

"So... you want to try this one?"

"I don't see why not, c'mon let's get going!" Silas exclaimed as he grabbed Vera's wrist and started half-running down the path. He ran like this for about half a minute, so they would be out of earshot of the seniors. He stopped running and let go of Vera's arm as he looked to her.

"First of all, that guy was lying. A thorn bush is not enough to cut you up like that. Another thing... are we going to look for the Headmaster, or are we just going to continue the run and help out if we find him?"

@Raptra
@Bishop TBH I never even thought of that first one, probably won't do it because balance. There's also the fact that Aaron would have to react to a bullet in flight in order to pull that off. I'm not opposed to Team Rocketing some angels later down the line though.

As for the second point... no.

@RaptraSapped for inspiration at the moment, will get a post up tomorrow. I don't feel like half-assing this one.
@Warborn123Now that you've said that it won't happen... Still a cool premise though.
@The Jest Wasn't sure if you wanted me to post this yet... but I'm going to do it anyways lol. Let me know if you see anything that needs fixing.

@The Jest Well first of all, he'd only be able to drain from one target at a time (may change later on as he gains experience). The rate of said drain wouldn't be enough to make someone pass out within seconds, more so make a target more fatigued & sluggish. (again, may change with time / experience) Furthermore, he'd only be able to handle so much built-up energy in himself at a time. The energy drained would not be able to change forms (i.e electrical to chemical to kinetic) at least at the start. He'd also need to be careful to not "overcharge" someone / something or risk damage to said person or thing.

EDIT: Why did I think it would be a good idea to write this out on mobile?!
