• The Prowess of Artemis. Mary is granted the skill, dexterity and poise of Artemis, the Greek Goddess of the Hunt.
• The Magic of Titania. Mary is granted the magical ability and arsenal of Titania, the Queen of the Fairies.
• The Invulnerability of Aurora. Mary is granted the physical, mental and spiritual fortitude and durability of Aurora, the Roman Goddess of the Dawn.
• The Strength of Nemesis. Mary is granted the strength of Nemesis, the Greek Goddess of Retribution.
• The Wisdom of Athena. Mary is granted the wisdom and knowledge of Athena, the Greek Goddess of Wisdom.

Skills / Equipment:

Mary's transformation grants her a wand with which to cast spells. She is also privvy to the Prowess of Artemis bolstering her skills and the Wisdom of Athena bolstering her knowledge. When not transformed, she's just an unusually plucky teen girl armed with a cellphone.

Weaknesses:
Mary is an ordinary teenage girl until she utters the transformation phrase. Being caught unwares or having her speech or breathing restricted before she can transform renders her completely powerless

Arch Enemy:
Black Alice: A Dark Magical Girl with powers equal and opposite to Mary's. Alice gets her powers from a covenent with the cosmic evil Allura. When she shouts the word "Allura" she transforms into an adult in a dark reflection of Mary's outfit and is granted the Power of Aten, the Cunning of Loki, the Invulnerability of Luna, the Wisdom of Ursula, the Speed of Raiju and the Strength of Amon

Brief Bio:

Mary was adopted from a very young age into a foster family. She was an orphan who never knew her birth parents, nor the secret of her lineage. It wasn't until she was fourteen that she one day opened the front door to find herself in a cave. There she met a cloaked Wizard who told her that she is descended from an ancient lineage of sorcerers, and that it is her destiny to become earth's Champion and accept the role as the guardian pf humanity. He will grant her the powers of the Goddesses themselves, and that all she must do is utter the word 'Zatana'. The moment she did so, lightning struck her, and she found herself in an adult body, wearing a Hero costume. A magic wand had appeared in her hand. She could feelthe magic surging through her body, and the knowledge and wisdomof the Gods flowing into her head.

Even after her superhero career began, her new life still didn't feel quite real. It has been almost three months since she was granted this power, and she still has a lot to learn.

Martian Plastic Man

Personality - Compassionate, Haunted, Curious, Methodical, Persistent
Alignment - Good
Archetype - Meta-Alien (He's a meta among Martians)

Powers - Telepathy, Telekinesis (allows him to fly), Shapeshifting, Illusion Manipulation (allows him to go invisible for brief moments of time), Phasing Through Objects, Low-Level Super Strength, Speed, Reflexes, & Durability (So only a little better than an average human)

Skills/Equipment - Deductive Skills, Acting, Forensics Knowledge, A standard-issue police revolver

Weaknesses - Fire (Both in the pyrophobia sense and in the sense that fire messes with his psychic-based powers and causes them to go haywire)

Arch Enemy - J'ac'b J'amezon /Dr. Iron Will: J'amez twin brother, the head of the Genetic Research Department of the Martian World Government who was also his brother's handler

Appearance -
His Martian form: Fairly typical green skin with pupilless red eyes in a humanoid form; His back was branded with the mark of the Martian World Government which is usually hidden underneath the blue and red straps and trunks and blue cape that was his 'uniform'. As he was forced to wear that uniform for some time, he sometimes slips into it out of force of habit, but he is seeking to fight that habit.

His main human guise: A 6 ft square jawed, blonde haired Caucasian male with square shoulders. Usually wears a collared shirt, formal slacks, a trench coat, and a fedora like a film noir detective.

His Plastic Man guise: Black haired, slim jawed, slight figured guy with a red top like the Golden Age Plastic Man's with a white undershirt under neath and red pants with a yellow belt, black boots, and a pair of sunglasses.

BRIEF Bio - J'amez was a Maritain Forensic Scientist who suddenly found himself with abilities beyond a normal Martian. The Martian World Government, a Soviet-esque dictatorship, at first sought to persuade him to become their puppet superhero. But when he sought to refuse, they burned his home and family (wife, son, & daughter) to make it seem like he died then placed him under his twin brother's "care" in order to make him into the Martian Manhunter. His will was broken, but then was able to escape due to Dr. Erdel's teleportation experiment and so now tries to keep a low profile as an ordinary human police detective so as to not end up the pawn of Mars or of anyone else ever again. However, when people are in danger around him, J'amez can't help but act. So he ended up becoming Plastic Man on Earth, focusing on his shapeshifting as his primary crime-fighting weapon in such a way as to seem like he's only a very rubbery man.

Notes - Playing around with how in the Golden Age, Martian Manhunter had been a scientist before coming to Earth and of course, Mars still had a very alive population originally and was always supposed to be a 'perfect' place with no crime. I'm also playing with the fact that Mars does have a lower gravity so J'amez would need to be super-strong on some level in order to better blend in with other humans and to function as a superhero.

The exploding packages fell, lighting up the area with sound and flame! J'onn couldn't help it. He immediately dived to the ground and covered his head, the screams of his wife mixed in with the screams of the innocents as they were set ablaze. Did he scream himself? He wasn't sure. If he did, the falling explosions seemed to have covered it. But then the bombs stopped, and for a moment, the ringing died away as J'onn finally started to come back to the present. Only in time to hear a sound like a laser bolt, then the thud of a body on the ground. He jerked up. What had he missed?! Then there in the snow was Thor, far too still.

The man overhead laughed with glee. "I did it! I defeated Thor! This is the best Christmas ever!"

J'onn then looked up in the air at the one within the flying sled. And his eyes blazed red as his true form rippled out. How dare he...How dare he?!

In a blink, the Manhunter shot up towards his prey, tackling him to the bottom of the sleigh, snarling like some wild thing. "You have much to answer for, Mr. Toyman. The thought intruded into the Toymaker's mind, a sudden mental punch seeking to distract as the Manhunter wrestled to grab his hands. "Or should I say...? He dug around deeper, letting the pain build as he went. "Winslow Schott"

@Cyrania I dig the changes, the Soviet like Martians that are still alive and not possessing the exact powers of MM are intriguing (I'd love to make a few Black Circle members off world Martians), but I did have some questions. If your MM can shapeshift, being locked into the superhero form when in Martian mode doesn't make much sense. Couldn't he just assume a different form entirely and still use the meta-Martian abilities as a hero? And why would Soviet style Martians need to create a superhero if the species is seen as perfect and without crime? Also, on this alternate Earth of ours aliens are more feared in general by this world's governments; Superman's legal papers are constantly questioned in the media thanks to President Luthor.

Aside from all that I'd just give the character a new name for he and his brother to make it yours. Hell you could pull an Invincible and keep the J'onn alias but then make him this universe's shapeshifting Plastic Man. But yeah, call him J'imm J'kson or something.

Glad you like the overall idea. And you can definitely have Martians be Black Circle members.

The costume I admit I was unclear on. I was more thinking that Manhunter could take on different guises, even different Martian guises, for what he does, but that his 'base'/true form was locked into having the costume as another way to control him. But frankly, I could take out that element and just have it be that he sometimes still ends up in the costume out of force of habit even as he tries to decide on a new look.

Well officially, the Martian World Government wants a super who's the 'pinnacle of all that Martians can be' to be a symbol [puppet] for the government who's able to help if other races should invade and help with any 'national disasters' [whether actual or being lied about to hide Soviet mismanagement] so that the people can rejoice in having such a hero for themselves that they could strive to be [which means they are all the more likely to miss times the truth is omitted from the press for being 'inconvenient']. And then Manhunter can also take care of any 'dangerously insane' who seek to disrupt the government's rule whether by doing any actual crimes or by seeking to rebel by any government definition/ [Then since criminals are all counted as 'insane' and taken to insane asylums/'personalized care situations' or just straight up killed, there's technically no crime as no one is brought to trial]. The Manhunter's differences then are just seen as what all Martians will end up being able to do in time, the natural evolution of their race. But overall though, the government just sees Manhunter as too powerful a tool for better PR and better control of the populace to just throw him away.

I can definitely work with that. Given all he's gone through, he certainly wouldn't want to ought himself into more danger and would want to hide his alien nature as much as possible. So him being a version of Plastic Man could work well honestly.

I might go with James Jameson/J'amz J'amzon for the name then. Then he's the Manhunter on Mars but becomes Plastic Man on Earth whenever he does allow himself to act. I'll consider what to name his twin though.

Was hoping somebody would take the Flash and do something with them, or maybe make the Speed Force a team of people with different speed based abilities rather than the power within all of them. The Martian Manhunter just being a bounty hunter type of space alien from Mars could also be really dope.

*taps deeper into DC lore and randomness*

- Starman and/or Stargirl could have altered powers and be powered by the 'Starheart' or simply call the energy 'Starfire'

- Toyman could be a smaller action figure style hero instead of Doll Man (could even be a robot)

- The Cheetah could be the fastest hero in this universe

- 'Green Arrow' could be the name of an experimental plane, or plane suit (think of the blue guy from Centurions)

- Aquaman could just be some type of aquatic version of Ultraman (red and silver Japanese hero) or something like the Creature from the Black Lagoon

- Dr. Midnight could just be a late night superhero doctor/surgeon without the blindness or blackout bombs

Hmmm...Well, I've been playing with my current concept for the Martian Manhunter I've been using and I'd like to explore it in a new setting. Though if you'd prefer a concept that's completely new, I could come up with something.
