Zariana [+]

Name: Zariana, bringer of light

Age: 3 years old
Powers: Zariana can summon a light where she wants to, and can make this flash brightly, temporarily (for only a few seconds) blinding those looking at it.

History: Zariana was born with the light of the sun shining down on her in the middle of a grassland. Her only parent was a stray mother, who, like Zariana herself, was a husky. During the night of that day, while Zariana and her mother were sleeping, the god of light, Baldr, came down, and gave Zariana the power of light, because to him, she was as bright as the sun that had shown down on her the day she was born. Zariana's mother nurtured her for a few months, neither of the huskies knowing that Zariana had been given the power of light. Unfortunately, one day, Zariana's mother went to get food for the young pup, but never came back. Zariana was left by herself, hunting rabbits but rarely getting a catch. The small catches she got were enough to fill her little belly, however, and she continued to survive. One night, Zariana was lying head-between-paws, willing for the night to go away and for light to come and brighten her up. Suddenly, a light appeared just in front of her, and she jumped up in surprise. She backed a way a little, thinking of the word backwards as she did so. As she thought of the word, the light moved backwards, and toward her. She was confused, as it had happened exactly when she had thought of the word. She tilted her head, and thought of the word forwards. The light moved forward, and away from her. This also worked with left and right.

Zariana started to hone this power, and use it to her advantage, particularly while hunting, when she would flash the light brightly to blind the animals, then go in for the kill. She wandered for a long time, and eventually found a pack of which she was accepted in because she could use the powers of light.

Personality: Zariana is a shy dog, fearful and is easily made upset. Other than that, she is usually happy, and sometimes even slightly hyper. She is quite active, often running about. She likes nature, patches of grass, and the sun.
