Your character would need some sort of casted magic. If she were to lose her staff(s), she would be useless. Also, the day you find out you have powers is when the men come and take you away to the campus.
Someone already has a kitsune, so you may need to change that. Rule 9. Also, the familiar's powers have to match the element of the main character. I can see maybe three elements that the familiar you have used.

Powers: Luna can summon a light where she wants, and she can summon a light-bow to shoot arrows of light.

Personality: Luna is a sweet person, but she can get annoyed easily, and upset easily. She is really shy, but when you befriend her she cares about you. Luna cares a lot about Zariana. If you hurt her feelings, she is slow to forgive depending on who it is that hurt her. She has a few hobbies, such as reading and drawing, and she likes to be outside. Luna is scared of heights and scared of spiders.
History: Luna was born to a young couple who lived on a farm. She would always go outside and play, and always remain in the sunlight. As she got older, she went to an archery club. It was quite fun, and she got really good at archery, winning a few contests. Her parents were really proud of their daughter, and always supported her in everything she did. On her fifteenth birthday, there was a knock on the door with men that said that Luna had to go with them because she apparently had powers. So, Luna packed her things, and got taken to a campus where she was given a 'familiar', which was a wolf pup known as an Angel-Wolf. The pup told Luna that it's name was Zariana, and from then and onward, they were bonded.
