Backstory

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon USA the youngest of three children. The only one to manifest abilities for soul perception in generations. As a preteen girl with uncanny abilities to sense souls, her eyes were set on joining Death Weapon Meister Academy if not only for higher education but the pull of excitement and glory. Her parents are simple realtors, middle class family. In the startling new era of peace, her parents hadn’t expected to have a meister in the family let alone their own daughter. Terrified for her safety they initially forced her to join NOT classes, Lacey garnered some resentment for their insistence in spite of their good intentions. Her family and Lacey herself remember the day the moon was blotted out, ending the terror of the Kishin.

At the age of 13, in the first year of her NOT classes Lacey struggled to find a weapon partner while she worked tirelessly honing her body for combat, learning early on she was built for speed and not strength. She focused on taking freerunning classes and hand-to-hand combat. She roomed with a prodigy EAT student named Vanessa Amsel, set to graduate a little early. Amsel initially took young Lacey under her wing, helping her adjust to the new school and swing of things. Unfortunately their friendship crumbled shortly after Lacey found weapon partners. Amsel moved on after graduation, joining international DWMA teams and missions.

Lacey’s soul wavelength was often toted to be the problem with potential partners. Omitting the cause of clashing personalities, weapons would comment on how strange or how it felt as if they were trying to synchronize with more than one soul, much to Lacey’s dismay.

It wasn’t until the exams and final cuts for NOT students entering EAT classes when the pressure increased, potentially forcing Lacey to remain in NOT for another semester. While there were twin brothers who struggled with a similar problem, due to their unique polar opposite soul wavelengths they were incredibly picky in who could handle not just one brother but both at the same time.

Henry and Peter Halloway were originally designated to EAT classes individually until they decided they were more effective together. With the looming threat of being demoted back down to NOT classes for lack of a partner they took a leap of faith with Lacey Malta. Miraculously their souls synchronized and from then on became partners.

For the past three years, the three of them have been living in an apartment in Death City. Working part time jobs, juggling school and international missions to collect evil souls. Two hundred souls weren’t going to collect themselves.

Lacey studied as well as she could, not the brightest student in the class but holding an average grade overall. While in combat she is ruthlessly quick to start and end fights. Tirelessly she trained day in and day out, took to running to school preferring to vault across rooftops than catch a ride with the twins.

Unique but complimentary fighting style for most other teams, utilizing their set of abilities to keep targets and enemies off balance for heavy hitters to make the final blow. Lacey found herself working with powerhouses and characteristically strong teams for preference. She found there were a lot less clashes in personality as well.

It surprised her, as well as her partners when they were pulled to join the SPARTOI initiative. Lacey teetered on the decision, knowing the challenges would be upped exponentially but it would ultimately be challenging.

Unbeknownst to Lacey, dormant secrets lie within her oddly shaped soul. A soul containing generations of history.

Abilities/Skills:

Minimal Soul Perception:
Lacey can sense human souls within a room. Very limited.

Survival Skills:
Lacey specializes in wilderness survival. Able to reasonably survive in hostile environments from building shelters, foraging for food and water, and basic navigation skills (i.e reading a map, following a compass, etc).

First Aid Training:
Trained and educated in first aid response.

Parkour/Freerunning:
Among the first skills she learned when she joined DWMA, she has been regularly taking classes to stay refreshed on moves while incorporating it in her fighting style. Participates in advanced levels especially for EAT students.

Great Dancer:
Loves contemporary and interpretative dance, took classes hoping to improve balance. She stuck with it as a fun hobby.

Techniques:

Soul Lasso:
When Peter and Henry have sensed a soul for its magnetic alignment they can be thrown around their target to create a lasso for Lacey to pull. Depending on the strength of the soul, (if it is resonating, large in general, or witch’s soul) would affect her ability to pull them, stronger souls require higher soul resonance.

Magnet Push
A full force of a push against the target's soul directly. Meant to push the target off their feet, in stronger souls meant to throw them off balance.

Magnet Pull:
An undirected pull, similar to Soul Lasso but primarily for crowd control. Similar application as Magnet Push.

Soul Resonance Technique - Complete the Circuit:
Fully synchronized with her weapon partners, they affectionately dub it Complete the Circuit. Their weapon forms grow in size, begin to glow and with immense concentration, practice and honing of skill they are able to project a magnetic field as Lacey's soul swells in size. Their techniques become more powerful, strong souls they weren't able to budge before now resist a noticeable pull/push on their soul.

Equipment:

Wears:
Kneepads, elbow pads, protective vest beneath her poncho for extra padding. Dresses in layers to protect her skin and body from rough landings or rolls. In weapon form her partners add a layer of protection to her wrists with steel bands.

On her legs she has leather holsters to keep Peter and Henry to free up her hands for climbing.

Wears customized fingerless gloves with rubber groves and padding in the palms to increase grip.

Defaults to running shoes, well padded with plenty of arch support.

On Belt:
Three small waterproof pouches keeping a cell phone, money and identification. Along with small first aid supplies. Finally, small survival items like flint and steel, compass, and a flashlight. The pouches do little to weigh her down and are kept close to her body.

Lacey understands a great deal of how much work she took on by accepting not just one weapon partner but two. She is a self starting individual, restless and will always speak her mind regardless of how it must sound to a stranger. She fully intends to earn respect from her classmates, her teachers and her family. Proving not only to herself that she can leave the mark of the first meister in generations of her family.

Peter Halloway stands at a tall 6'1", on the skinnier side, not much muscle but rough calloused hands from working at a mechanic shop. Weighing in at around 155 lbs. Stylishly cut brown hair, close to his head. Wears square black frame glasses, and if not always seen in formal wear. Bright blue eyes. His formal wear carries onto his school uniform, having picked the most formal amongst the uniforms provided by DWMA. Black suit jacket adorned with the Death skull on his right breast pocket, white dress shirt, and black slacks.

Shape of Soul:

Peter's soul is largely if not completely positive in magnetic charge.

Opposite to his brother Henry. His blade in weapon form is grey steel, embedded in the base of the blade just above the hilt is the positive + symbol. The blade glows blue, along with the symbol when Peter resonates with Lacey. The blade itself grows in a few inches of length, along with the steel band on Lacey's wrist growing larger to protect more surface area, the wrist band has the positive + symbol embedded in it.

Backstory

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Indiana USA one of twins. His weapon abilities manifested first while his brother's came shortly after at the age of 12. An awkward first couple of years adjusting to the magnetic pulls and pushes of his abilities, before too long him and his brother were sent to DWMA to learn to control their new powers. His parents encouraging for their development. It was after their first year of attending DWMA that their mother passed away in her sleep due to a unfortunate aneurysm caused by blood thinning medication, when a fall resulted in a unchecked ruptured vein in her brain. Her death was abrupt, and gave the twins no chance to say goodbye. The completely preventable causes of her death simply rubbed salt in the wound.

Initially after recovering from the loss of their mother they separated to learn about themselves on their own, Peter showed detail orientated intelligence and picked up studying weapon lineages with interest. In the first few years working with different partners they really grew as people and individuals. Their differences growing more stark each year, but never once shaking their bonds. It wasn't until they decided to come back together, finding their effectiveness was exponentially upped when they fought together. The difficulty became very apparent when they had a terrible time to find a partner to suit their strange needs.

A last chance and final partner matchup brought up young freshman Lacey Malta into their lives. Initially Peter was less than impressed, he saw hard work and being forced to listen to a headstrong freshman. In the years they worked together as partners things began rather rocky, Peter often butted heads with Lacey. The brother's teasing often grated on the likes of young Lacey. They found a middle ground when Lacey split from toxic friendship with Vanessa Amsel, seeing her vulnerable inspired a protective streak in him for Lacey. Peter grew to be close friends with her from that point on. When they fought together, earned souls Peter trusted her with his life and the life of his brother. In her hands they were a team.

Ever since arriving to Death City Peter showed an intense interest in vintage cars and had a knack for working on engines in his spare time. He was hired at a local mechanic's shop part time as an apprentice. From there they dragged in a shell of a 1968 Ragtop Chevy Camaro telling him that was his project. Peter worked night and day on that car, scraping together his meager paychecks to save and afford the parts he needed, replacing leather upholstery, custom paint jobs, and rebuilding the engine from scratch. When it was complete he had his full driver's licence and drives it everywhere. Often totes it as his favourite place to be.

While he learned about gutting cars he also explored his sense of style and fashion. Takes great pride in his style.

In the years presiding their partnership, Peter, Henry and Lacey moved into an apartment together. Peter always willing and ready to give unwavering support to both Lacey and his brother.

Peter has a sharp mouth on him, very observant in and out of a fight. In conjunction with Lacey's bluntness they can make a brutal pair in an argument or debate. His flirtatious nature can sometimes come off rather corny at times, but his string of past relationships both starting and ending in healthy ways really spoke volumes more of his ability to be a rather considerate in a relationship. His interest in weapon lineage, cars and fashion round out his life outside of the Academy. A good head on his shoulders with the discipline to see through collecting one hundred souls.

Henry Halloway stands at a tall 6'1" dips an inch because of his slouch, a little pudge on his stomach, his fingertips are often dry and rough from finger picking while playing the guitar. Weighing in at around 165 lbs. His hair long and straight, dips down to his lower back. Often keeps it down but loves to occasionally braid it or put it up in a bun. Chooses to wear contact lenses instead of glasses. His style is often clothing he dug through at a thrift store save for the band shirts he collects from a concert or scrounges up used. Bright blue eyes. His uniform is the long sleeved dress shirt unbuttoned with his favourite band shirt beneath it and a pair of black jeans.

Backstory

Henry was a little nervous about moving so far away from home, afraid he'd be separated indefinitely from his twin. In the first year some his fears were answered when their mother passed away. Henry a little more sensitive and slow to admitting a split up from his twin brother was really a good course of action. Afraid he'd lose the chance to say goodbye to him to if he didn't make it back from a mission.

With a little convincing and freedom to have time to himself and new partner Henry opened up to it gradually.

Henry found himself taking comfort of their mother's passing in studying Pneumatology, the study of the soul. A subject usually reserved for meisters to know but Henry had taken to it with great interest. Without Peter there to constantly nag him over how he dressed or how he groomed himself, Henry quite literally let those things go. Choosing a laid back lifestyle to match his attitude. He was never a huge fan of combat training, or athleticism instead focused on his grades. Some would call him a couch potato but his mind was as sharp as some of the top grading students in EAT classes, and the test scores showed for it.

It became clear as the challenges in EAT classes grew Henry on his own wasn't nearly as effective as he could be in a fight. His twin brother came to this same conclusion where they decided to work together as a team with one meister. When they first met Lacey, Henry felt first impressions weren't nearly as good as they could be. When Lacey proved to have a compatible soul, Henry's initial attitude did a 180. He encouraged her to continue training, helping her study and she did the same for him. Showing him low intensity work outs that would help him keep up in a fight without getting winded.

While outside of school Henry started working part time at a music shop, learning to play the guitar and really expanding his tastes in music.

Moving in with Peter and Lacey again felt right to him, Henry enjoyed living with his brother again and Lacey was a generally considerate roommate. Though neither Peter nor Lacey could cook worth anything often leaving that chore to Henry.

He loves music and loves to play music. Owns an acoustic guitar and is often seen practicing, he is quick to pick up on new songs.

Henry is on the sensitive side, astutely aware of other people's moods and shifts. Though not enough to get in the way of Peter and Lacey's more abrasive personality traits. They agree on most things but will pull either of them aside to set a record straight if need be. Content to go with the flow until someone tries to control or restrict his ability to learn. Can't stand authority figures, shows to have a snarky side when he feels like he's being leashed. He does take advantage of the immense resources that DWMA offers its students, but his outward appearance would suggest otherwise his knowledge base is subpar. He loves to prove those assumptions wrong.

Lacey Meets the Twins

-Lacey Malta Meets the Twins-

Lacey stood fidgeting outside Professor Jekyll's office door. She knew on the other side sat her last chance of getting into EAT classes this semester. The pressure was mounting on the two weapons Jekyll had personally chosen for her. Lacey wanted to prove that she had the potential to be something great, someone successful in what she choose to do. Huffing up her chest, she straightened her shoulders, stepping through the door to see the two weapons sitting in front of Jekyll’s desk.

They turned simultaneously and regarded her with disappointment. One wore glasses and cropped his hair short and stylish. While the other on the left had an incredible amount of long brown hair she could hardly see his eyes through all the hair. They stood up at the same time and folded their arms in unison.

The difference was stark in their outfits and personalities before they even opened their mouths. The long-haired boy was wearing a worn out red flannel shirt with black buttons and a pair of stone washed jeans. The shirt he wore beneath it was a band shirt; it had a prism with a rainbow shining through. Lacey wasn’t entirely sure what it meant. The boy wearing glasses was wearing dark grey dress pants and a vest matching the colour of his pants, with a dark blue tie. His dress shirt was black with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows.

Professor Jekyll stood as well and introduced them, “Lacey, please meet Henry.” Jekyll pointed to the boy with long hair, “and Peter Halloway.” He motioned to the boy wearing glasses, “Twin brothers and twin daggers. Henry, Peter this is Lacey Malta, meister.”

“It’s a pleasure to make your-” She stuck out her right hand and was interrupted.

“Malta? You named yourself after a cartoon character? What a typical freshmen.” They shrugged again, in unison.

“It was the first thing I could think of.” She replied a tad bit defensively.

“Poor choice, obviously.” Peter tsked and turned to address Jekyll, “A freshmen? That’s all ya got?”

“Lacey, the brothers are a few years older.. They’ve collected a few souls on their own but when they switched partners they had to give up what they collected to start fresh.” The professor sat again, folding his large hands over the desktop. “They are reasonably good students and obviously have some decent experience.”

She nodded and hesitated as she closed the office door behind her.

“I feel they would be a good match to help you catch up in class and guide you in combat.” Jekyll finished smiling pleasantly.

Henry spoke up this time, “That’s assuming a bit. Who knows if we’ll even get along with the pipsqueak? She’s so small.”

She crossed her arms and gave them both a hard look, “That’s among my strengths. I am small and agile.”

Peter scoffed, “Compared to what? A falling brick?”

Jekyll supplied before she could reply, “Lacey has excelled at free running and she is among the fastest freshmen. Someone I believed would compliment dual wielding daggers such as yourselves.”

“Speed won’t account for much if she can’t think for herself.” Henry commented dryly.

She fumed, “I’m smart enough to tell that this meet and greet has already taken a nosedive.”

“Well then eager beaver, since you’re so sure that this won’t work out. We’ll take the only test we’ll need to do.” Peter suggested and Jekyll sighed in response.

“What test?” She asked wringing out her hands.

“The touch test.” The twins said in unison, holding out their hands palms up.

Peter explained, “It’s how we tell whether your soul has any potential. We skip a lot of the stages and processes.”

She rolled her eyes, “You can’t honestly expect me to agree to this silly-”

“The only thing you have to offer to the table is a lot of hard work, freshman. We need to know it’ll be worth it. This is how we figure it out, our hands and a single touch will create a circuit. If it’s smooth and uninterrupted that means you have some potential.” Peter cut her off.

“Circuit?” She turned to Jeykll waiting for an explanation.

He sighed again, “These two aren’t only daggers they are kind of like soul magnets. They claim to sense positive and negative charges of the soul.” He shrugged. “I’ve never seen them in action or act like magnets. Just play along.”

“This is stupid, professor!” She hissed, “How are these two supposed to be my last chance to get into EAT if they don’t even like me?” She pressed a hand to her chest.

“Wow, judgmental.” The twins said in unison, irritation growing in the girl’s expression. Their synchronization was starting to get on her nerves.

“Okay, fine. You know what, first impressions aren’t everything. Despite how abrasive you guys are being right now, I know you need my help as much as I need yours.” She replied a tad smug, the twins exchanged a look and she knew they weren’t convinced she was even worth the time. For a last chance, Jekyll wasn’t going to make this easy.

“So, what do I do?” She asked.

“Just with one finger you touch both our hands at the same time.” Henry replied unfolding his hand.

“Piece of cake.” She said reaching out. The twins rolled their eyes in response and were clearly not expecting what happened next.

Gently, she poked both of their palms and was about to comment sarcastically about how dry their hands were but before she could even begin to form the words she was shot off her feet, thrown out the door to the opposite wall.

Lacey landed haphazardly and saw stars. She put both my hands on the ground, trying to see straight. It happened all too fast. She mumbled the comment she had ready and blinked out of sync.

She saw several different shoes, heard a ton of voices, all of which sounded concerned. She was lifted by her arms suddenly then found herself back on her wobbly feet. Her head spun, barely able to discern who was speaking.

“That’s never happened before!” She heard someone whisper excitedly.

Another person replied begrudgingly, “It had to be the freshman.”

“Who cares? We’ve never gotten a reaction like that before!” The first voice argued.

“Lacey!” Professor Jekyll took hold of her face, forcing her to focus.

She smiled deliriously, “Did I pass?”

“We’re heading into physical testing stage tomorrow. These two will take you to see the nurse.” He replied.

“Cool. Super cool.” She mumbled as the twins continued to chatter excitedly, dragging her to the nurse’s office.

@Kouki Months? I never gave such an extravagant timescale. It was more of a case where a few people went missing around a certain area, and Zane got captured during investigation. And before he captured live students he only used samples gathered stealthily from the Death Scythes. Considering that Zane didn't have the power of a Demon Weapon at the time, he wouldn't be on a story arc length mission.

If it's a problem with him being a teacher, I could turn him into a crazy scientist operating in a secluded part of Death City. As for not being allowed to make events, isn't the history of a character entirely events?

I think what he means by bio events is to exclude Major Events like a large scale investigation of a evil scientist using students for cloning in the Academy. Major events that can and would affect other students, their day to day would force not only Kouki but other players to incorporate such events as general knowledge of what has been happening the same time they have been attending DWMA.

But your idea to simply move it outside school could work, the same event could happen outside of school on the down low without really causing others to take note of it, therein not affecting General History of DWMA between the present in the RP and the canon ending~
