Okay then so IC is up.

I've kept it vague as an intro post. Do you have to include the little girl in your post?... no... it's just something there if you want to add in. Other than that the world's your oyster. Want to be part of Elder Robert's irritating 4% you go for it and play with the grumpy old git (you can use him or Elder Priscilla as you wish without having to ask me)!

Want to do something completely different you go for it!

All I need in this post is for you to get registered but other than that the world is your oyster ( apparently I like that expression )!

So @prints avoid is working hard to get his character together but real life is blocking his way a little. Nevertheless he has kindly sent me what he has and based on that sample i cant see any reason i wont be accepting his finished product.

As such I'm going to post the IC in the next couple of hours to allow you guys to get moving and worst case scenario prints can come in one or two updates late. I doubt it will come to that but as the early section is a little free form we have a little room to manouveur

Tbh thats why ive been holding off. I dont want to create a detective/savant style acolyte if its going to be a very run and shoot style of rp. Was hoping to gage a bit more of the group/ the rp before commiting.

Whenever you can mate! rl is obviously more important and i would rather have your best than something you've thrown together to meet a deadline. Not to mention I wont be home for a while yet.

1. Actually, I'm rather prone to playing characters with physical disabilities and problems so I'm more than use to rping mute, blind, deaf, and disabled characters. I'd like to keep him mute mostly to show that, including his young age, he's at a disadvantage. He might have all the book smarts in the world, but if he can't speak these ideas and use them appropriately, he might as well be starting a few steps behind the starting line. I really want my character to work for what he wants, despite not knowing what it is, and get to a level with his pokemon where he would be able to portray thoughts and ideas without speech.

No worries. It's a good character i just want to understand a little more. Commrnts in red below :)

1. Yes, Kaleo cannot speak using his vocal chords, but I was thinking of him interacting with notepad and pencil as well as using a frogged speech (pushing air out of the body and mouthing the words to create sounds) is that alright?

if this is central to your character I will happily go along with it. As discussed above it will take alot of training between you and your pokemon to get to a state of non verbal syncronicity but though an initial problem for you to overcome I can see it ultimately working.

All I will say is from a purely rp respective having a character with a permanent condition like this can really hinder you as you have to stick with it through thick and thin which can cut down your options a little bit. Just from previous rps I know I personally prefer anything like this to have an out so if I'm struggling with the character I can amend slightly. I would suggest making it that he doesn't talk not necessarily can't just so you have the option if you really need it but it is up to you. I will accept if it's something you want to do just be prepared!

2. Yeah, that's true. I can make it so that Alto came back with his wife on various occasions and told stories about their adventures. But when Kaleo stops by, for some reason he's alone. And I'll be sure to proofread when I get back to my dorm. Does that help?

however you want to do it. I actually quite like the not knowing his parents thing and just having heard stories. I think its a nice storyline we could use at somepoint. Perhaps they used to come back all the time but after kaleo was sent to live with his grandparents they didnt communicate or come back any more?

3. I would say that Kaleo wants to be like both of his parents so that the other is represented in him, but will be conflicted because he doesn't know which one he likes more; he's more or less doing everything so that his parents can be proud of him when they come back. Hope that's a little better?

@deathbringer lol, I actually just finished up. I'm a little iffy about the backstory for Kaleo's guardian, but I believe everything else is alright ^^

Cool! I like the recognition of the difference between book smarts and reality. Think that could be really interesting!
I'm also very happy with how he contrasts with other characters and the mystery in his past with his father could give us an interesting story arc at some point so love it!

It's a good character and I think he'd be an excellent addition to the rp but I do have two questions and two requests before I accept

1. you say taleo is mute? by that do you mean he is just quiet or physically cannot/ will not talk? If he can't talk how do you intend for him to interact?

2. The bit about his grandfather's past is fine but I'm a little confused about how his grandparents know the mother and about her and his fathers exploits (said in the hero section) if Alto never came back once he left to battle. Could you clarify that?
I think it just needs cleaning up a little bit in terms of spellings and how it reads. Give it a once over but other than that it's solid :)

3. Can you clarify Taleo's ambition a little more. I get the idea that Taleo want's to emulate his parents. His mother was a breeder his father a combative trainer. He obviously loves his mother and father but they seem very different so does he desire to be the best of both? Or is he conflicted? There are a lot of ideas in the character sheet so I just need a little bit more clarity so I understand better who Taleo is and what drives him

The ideas I'm hearing all look good and sound great! Can't wait to see the sheets.

So a quick idea on my timeline.
I'm off work tomorrow (but working Saturday) so I'll be writing up the true intro post tomorrow (the current IC post was just to give you a little extra flavour on who to expect and the sanctuary ritual).

The idea of these first few posts is they will be free form to give you an idea of what's going on but I hope you all run with it and build on it. Between all 5 of us I think we can build a great image of Lo Town and it's "biggest day of the year". Hopefully my first post will give you plenty to feed off but don't hesitate to come to me if you need a little more/ have any questions!

Ideally I would like to post the intro post for you guys Friday Night/ Saturday Morning (GMT) so would want to have all character sheets written up and locked in by then so we can get started with the whole weekend ahead of us.

Is that achievable for everyone?

Either sounds good to me.
Depending on how things go i may expand the story to include more characters at which point existing players will certainly have first dibs!

Im also quite happy for you guys to create npcs pretty much at your leisure. Once our first 4 characters are in I will create an NPC's tab.

If we create an npc we find particularly important or entertaining his creator can just knock up a sheet and i'll add it to the tab. I think the more npcs and detail around the more we have to feed off!
