I'm afraid so! There are quite a few pokemon rps around at the moment though so may be worth taking a look about!
I will however let you know if anyone drops out or if we reach a point when I feel we can add more characters

And yes, I think Richelieu was the name of a character in the Three Musketeers. An antagonist, I think? Could be wrong. Never read the book myself, I just like the name xD

ha, yeah he's an antagonist alright (I defo didn't spend 10 minutes searching the internet for Lisette in Dumas's works to try and find a clever connection)

If you're concerned about keeping it limited, you can probably just limit is to whatever's canonically found in Kanto way back in gen 2 plus or minus a few of your choosing. Throw in the occasional Johto native when we're battling an NPC, stuff like that.

Sorry for the delay. Walking to work has taken away my morning read and reply time!

Hmmm for all my desire to keep this contained i do think the addition of Pokemon such as pichu etc in 2nd gen makes this a little of a moot point.

As a compromise I will open up the pokedex to 251.

This will add a little balance with extra dark pokemon to counterbalance psychic. I would however add that johto pokemon will be considered rare in Kanto so we will still have that phased introduction style.

The name has a three musketeers ring though it might be my imagination?
I like the character and the backstory is great. Perhaps just clarify that beyond getting her registered yvette also arranged that she would bring her acting as her guardian or don't. I can see it being quite entertaining for yvette to be pretending to be Lisette's guardian to Lisette's indignation.

No worries- I'm not a fan of changing canon either but I couldn't think of a way to get dark Pokemon into the game without expanding the pokedex and I have a natural point in my story for that to happen.

yup gen 7 movesets and I'll use bulbapedia as my main reference source if I'm unsure

The concept of the Sanctuary Ceremony is that its designed to strengthen the bond between families before Pokemon trainers set off on their own. The idea was that you capture your first Pokemon using your parents favoured/ main Pokemon and guided by your father/ mother. This is a pokemon you would have know your whole life and grown up with, thus creating a family bond that cannot be broken before you fly the nest.

I've mentally got ways round it for characters without parents/ turned up on their own etc (I mean it's a mercurial town for all their good intentions) however I think an estranged relationship with a parent could be as interesting to play out as a close one.

Unfortunately from the interest check I've already got 4 applicants for an original 3 spots. As silly as it sounds stretching to 4 I felt was doable but I'd like to hold at 4 as a maximum.

If Tenma and Vongola don't give me a nod they are creating character with the next 24 hours (somewhat epic it is midnight as i write this) then I'll happily take your character sheet. Added if anyone drops out I'll be in full grovel mode to get your interest back.

Part of the reason for locking everything down so tightly early was to give us somewhere to go and new things to explore as we open up the game. I'm going to say no to adding extra pokemon just because i dont want to set a precedent early on or we may as well open up all pokemon and go from there.

I am however hoping you keep your character concept as is because it sounds lush and i did have two proposals to put to a vote for addressing the lack of dark types in the first 151.

I was just waiting for us to lock in those participating before making the suggestions but as its already been brought up

1) rattata in this rp would use the alolan rattata type of dark normal. Everything else would remain the same

2) the ghost tree of gastly,haunter and gengar would be swopped to ghost dark instead of ghost poison (i always hated how nerfed they were against psychic despite the episode in the tv series) this change would address that.

I would add i would only add these changes in if all parties were in favour.
