Though I don't think they've been established in the comics, the Diwatas are recognized as lore according to Marvel's handbook on Mythology in the Marvel Universe. I'd like to play as one of those characters if that's okay. The character I'll pick will most likely be part of the Triumph Division. Information on both of these groups in the 616 is pretty limited, but I'm sure I can come up with something awesome - if you'll let me of course.

I don't see anything wrong with that right now. Of course I would have to see a final character sheet, but that would be fine. Also, I have a question for everyone. Would everyone prefer to start with a fresh RP thread or would you all not mind using the previous one that I tried to start up before Christmas Break? The old RP thread only has one IC post that you need to ignore. Just let me know your thoughts.

Well, its fine. Just note that the other Olympians might not be so happy with them when they find out. ;) The other thing I was worried about was how this would affect my hero - god(s) pairs that I have so far established. Right now they are: Raptor / (Wasp) - Zeus / (Hera) Arachne - Athena Iron Knight - Aphrodite / Hephaestus I just wondered how Ares/Hephaestus' actions would affect these pairings (especially the last one).

I'll be looking forward to the drama that will follow. :P Hrm. What have you done with Iron Knight's pairing so far? Because if Hephaestus' actions that you've written are radically different from what I've done/plan to do, I could pull some strings. Maybe pull the whole "But he's not the REAL Thanos!" trick that Marvel uses. A clone, a masquerader, or another god entirely. Perhaps he's Vulcan, looking for revenge against Hephaestus for stealing his thunder? I dunno. We can think of something.

He hasn't done much actually (although there might be something in this post). Hint Hint. Also, @The Fair Lady: The Greek Athanatoi might want to have a word with Mercy. But they have some things of more dire interest to take care of first.

This is my line of thought: Ares and Hephaestus are two of the more rejected Greek gods. Neither of them had many public shrines, and the other gods and goddesses tended to treat them poorly. Such as when Hera chucked Hephaestus to the earth and broke both his legs; and or when Hephaestus dragged Ares and Aphrodite naked to the gods. They were both humiliated, ridiculed, and underestimated often; Hephaestus by the other gods, and Ares by both the gods and men. When the Greek gods fell out of humanity's favor, Ares approached Hephaestus with a convoluted plan to gain them the worship they each truly deserved. The two of them would work together to bring the gods back into mankind's favor. Of course, a few decades into their relationship, they started to argue and fight. A lot. The only person keeping the union together is Chike, who acts as a diplomat of sorts when the two bring up their conflicts of old. That's what I was thinking when I made the two supporting characters for Polemos.

I've been wanting to try femme Thor, although maybe she wouldn't be such a great fit in Spidey/X-Men? (Although I did love those old Spidey/X-Men cartoons.)

No. We need more non X-Men characters in this game. A female Thor would be fine. And remember that we can have more characters as the game progresses.
While I will let building a shrine of Ares slide because no one likes Ares (my idea was that at the emergence of the "modern" religions, the Athanatoi decided to cease from interfering with human affairs unless something in the past that they did has come back around to bite Earth in the butt), I'm not quite sure how I feel having Hephaestus helping Ares build his "shrine". Ares was the jerk who banged Hephaestus' wife (Aphrodite).
I'm hoping that we can get at least one or two more on board. This weekend (or when we get one or two more people on board - whichever one comes first), I will start up the main thread.

I've been busy. Sorry about that. I'll get a post up some time today.

I also have been quite busy. I'll see what I can do this evening/after today.
