Welcome to my little personal den of Hell! Sorry, sorry, I meant my personal profile. Same thing, right?
I'm a roleplayer, same as any around here. I've been doing it for about five years now, coming up to six in September. Its been quite the time, thinking back. I started out fresh as can be, understanding the basics of writing but never quite knowing how to become better, or become as great as those around me. In the end, I did the only thing I really knew at the time:
Write as much garbage as possible and hope for the best!
As you can see, that particular tactic fucking failed. Jokes aside, I like to think I've developed a lot over the years, both as a writer and as a person. However, absolutely nothing can dissuade my weeaboo ways and supporting my OTP with all that I can freaking muster! If you haven't already guessed, said OTP is Chrom x Robin (Chrobin) from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Highly recommend the game, there's a reason (other than nintendo's cheapskate attitude) that it hasn't dropped in price, it's honestly the best place to start off in the series. And hey, maybe you'll end up addicted like me and want to buy every game on the 3DS like a fucking loony?
Speaking of loonies, the Fire Emblem Chrobin Comic Dub Project has recently finished, so for those of you who also appreciate the best ship in existence, I highly recommend it. Hell, even if you're not interested in that, I do highly recommend watching it for those into fantasy love stories. The quality improves drastically with each episode, so trust me when I say by the end of it you should be thoroughly impressed. It has helped motivate me in ways I can hardly describe with words, and so I thought the least I could do was put this out there. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I know it was the perfect thing for me.
"Do you think you can tip any of the scales in here?" "Chrom, for the love of Naga, I'm thinking..."
"So I heard."
"There are better places to take a nap than on the ground, you know."
There is a universe. No-one knows it's name, where gravity wasn't strong enough to bind matter together and no stars formed. And because no stars formed, no stars exploded. And because no stars exploded, no planets came about. And because no planets came about, there was no life.
There's another universe, no one knows it's name, where gravity was strong enough and did light the stars and planets came about and boy, they were gorgeous, planets in perpetual winter, planets in perpetual summer, planets that could rival the Garden of Eden and no bloody snakes! And on one of them, eventually, complex life evolved and one of the species developed large brains learned things like manners and dabbing, when they looked up at the stars and wonder what they were doing here. You called them octopuses, I suppose. Gosh, they were clever, for octopuses, and one of them, several million years in, almost wrote something in ink on the seafloor, a message to its friend. And the message almost read: "Hi! How are you?" And a few millennia later, space folder back on itself and, you get the idea. Goodbye Octopi.
There's another universe, where life formed on every planet, in every solar system, and it was carbon-based, it was silicon based, it was made of crystals and water and plasma, it was made of quantum fields and light, and everything was alive, everything was doing a boogie, and it was everybody's birthday, everyday, relatively, and everyone got presents, and they had over a trillion languages, some written down, some only spoken, some conducted telepathically, and they bought a galactic civilization together, as a perfect unity, sharing stories, sharing technology, speaking a common tongue, understanding everything about how the cosmos been put together. And finally, when everything was sorted, the galaxies were arranged into perfect geometric formations, transmitting pure love, and wisdom, and birthday greetings to all species in the universe, for all time. Papercuts never happened, coke came in glass bottles, no one even remembered the word for war, everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.
And yet, for a quirk in their evolution, because resources weren't scarce enough on the planets these species developed on, not a single creature in the universe was conscious. Food was eaten and no-one enjoyed it. Movies were released, and there was no laughing, or crying. No-one chuckled at a joke. Ever. Space collapsed back on itself, eventually, and there hadn't been a single moment of sentience in the entire history of creation.
There's another universe, where the strong force is too strong the weak force is too weak and nothing forms. Another, where life develops too late when the Stars have all gone beyond the light boundary and there's nothing to even see. Another with too many dimensions. Another with not enough. Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn to survive. Another that only lasts milliseconds, and collapses in on itself, and heads straight back to oblivion. And that's how it just might be, across all possible universes, across all possible space times. Problems with the laws of nature, not enough resources, missteps in evolution. An atlas of dead-ends.
Then again, there is one exception.
There's another universe, a big one, where life is rare, where intelligent life is very rare indeed, the stars are very distant from each other, the laws of nature are very complex, it's extremely lonely for any species developing, and most never even develop at all, but somewhere, we believe, is a planet where the oceans are vast, and the climate is varied. Where the smartest species on the planet may have developed just the right mix of ambition and kindness. And if you were to travel there, to this unbelievably rare statistical anomaly, to this impossibly lucky planet, where evolution, biology, chemistry, nae, the laws of physics themselves have come together to create sentient intelligent life, you may be able to catch the native inhabitants singing for joy. Of what an impossibly lucky, and rare position they find themselves in. It is a chant of gratitude, a ritual of showing appreciation for ending up in perhaps the one universe, in the one solar system, on the one planet with all the basic ingredients for intelligent, conscious life.
milady!" The rookie says doing a curt bow and riding ahead of her.
"Milady, I don't wish to doubt your judgement, but are you sure that it is wise to let the rookie go first?" The high elf asks.
As they progress, they can see a small village being raised by large group of goblins and murlocs, the leaders of this band being a hobgoblin armored head to toe in steel armor and armed with a longsword, and a larger murloc armored with leather armor and two shortswords. They don't seem to have noticed the group yet.
"Of course." Maryvale replies, looking at her comrade with a face that cannot be read due to her helm. "It's a simple strategy: he draws the attention of those who oppose us, and we immediately follow-up with an attack whilst he moves back. Classic layered rush strategy - makes good for a defensive strat, too." She explains as she looks over at the village. "We should probably help that village... Though the Grand Marshal's orders are top priority..."
The gnoll refuses a horse as he is naturally as fast as a horse and begins to sniff the air and points east of the castle.
"That place reeks of death." He says disgusted. "It isn't hard to get at it. We don't have any mercenaries heading there yet, so we don't have to kill anyone yet." He says. "At least I can't smell anyone that way.
The avian takes off and observes the area nearby and the area towards the Death Marshes. She gives a all clear as in nobody is headed east towards the Death Marshes.
The orc is brought a warg instead of a horse, mostly because there was no breed of horse strong enough to carry the orc on long distances.
"Lead the way milady
"I would prefer if one of you would." She replies before looking at the rookie. "Rookie! Lead the way! And don't worry, I'm right behind you if anything happens."
Everyone nods in understanding to their role in combat, the elf bowing curtly to Maryvale and starting to talk.
"I am Torien, a half-elf, I have been shunned by my own kinsmen for my entire life, being forced to hunt alone, no family, no friends, no nothing." He says. "However, I met a young knight on a mission to kill any rogues around the castle, he spared me and promised me that with him by my side, I would reach greatness and here I am, thanks to the Grand Marshall." He says with a chuckle.
The orc grunted and said. "I am Ghoros, I was an outcast as I was different from the other Orcs, I was smart, I didn't have the luck to be born in a royal family, so I was sold in slavery to a human taskmaster in charge of a mine. I worked endlessly for no pay and almost no food, until the Grand Marshal and several knights arrested the taskmaster and chose me out of the hundreds of slaves there to be by his side, for him, I would kill my own kind!"
"I am Magay." The gnoll says. "I was born into a small gnoll tribe, yet I had a good life ahead of me as the son of the tribal leader. However, a orcish clan attacked us, killed the male adults and enslaved the rest of us. However, the Grand Marshall led a raid to free the slaves there and chose me to help him in his quest."
The avian nodded again and began to talk. "I am Maraya, a female avian, I was part of a raiding party from my tribe. Our raids took us close to a small village that we thought unprotected, but we were ambushed close to the village, all of my fellows were killed, I was shot down by three soldiers. As soon as they saw I was a female, they wanted to take me, but a dashing young knight tried to stop them, when they refused, he threatened them, the three men fought him and died, later he was almost executed because he saved me and killed three soldiers but he was only demoted as result. Since then, I have been completely loyal to him"
The young knight smiles and says. "Well, I don't have any long tales about the Grand Marshal, he's my father and I just want to make him proud."
"Shall we depart my lady?" The High Elf asks, our horses have been prepared."
"Good to see we're all so well-acquainted with the Grand Marshal. It makes this a lot easier." She explains before nodding at Torien. "Yes, we shall depart immediately. Let us go forth without falter!" She says as she lead the way to the horses. Upon arrival at their stables, she orders the Gnoll to be their guide and the Avian on point.
The Grand Marshal dismisses her. As soon as she leaves the stage, she can see that the guards have already been prepared for her by the Grand Marshal himself.
The strong one is naturally a orc armored from head to toe in steel armor. The smart one was a knowledgeable high elf wearing regular magic resistant elven clothing, armed with a elven sword and a bow. The one good with directions was oddly a large gnoll wearing leather armor, armed with two broadswords. The one with good eyesight was a avian(eagle man), wearing leather armor as well and was armed with a longbow and two shortswords. And the recruit was a fresh human knight wearing steel armor and armed with a longsword and shield.
"My lady, I believe we should go and search first where she was seen last, in the Death Marshes, if not, we could try and get the info out of the person who saw her last... Sssalivan." The high elf proposes to Maryvale.
"Examining the Death Marshes would likely be our best course of action. That way, we can also learn of any clues regarding the location of Darkstalker, too, or perhaps even recover the sword entirely. Two birds, one stone, as they say." She then addresses each member individualy.
"Orc," she says, "you will be acting as the party's shield and sword - you will work to draw the attention of the enemies we face alongside myself"
"Elve," she continues, slightly mispronouncing 'Elf', "you are our observer. You will keep a keen eye over the battle and support when necessary, though directing and advising us as a unit is your top priority."
"Gnoll," Maryvale nods, "it will be your duty to guide us to our destinations. In battle, I'd like you to strike in powerful, brutal bursts - steamroller hit-and-run tactics."
"Avian," directs Blood, "you will be positioned with the Elve a majority of the time. You will help with observing the battle, whilst also covering with arrow fire. If you deem it necessary, you may also engage up close, though try to keep your presence hidden from the enemy, if possible."
"And lastly..." Blood's eyes rest on the recruit. She was shorter than him in stature, though he could feel the strength contained behind her armour. Her eyes, though he can't see them, were piercing into him like needles. "I want you to learn. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity - as our wildcard, you have the power to assign yourself as you see fit in battle. It is the greatest responsibility, so make sure you don't mess it up."
Looking over all of them, Maryvale folds her arms. "Finally, I want your names and why you're here."
"You'll have a few men with you, they'll take care of the directions, you focus on the fights. As for the whistle, it will call my wyvern to help you against any enemy stronger than you."
"Yes, Lord Marshal, though I assure you, no such enemy exists." Replies Maryvale with a nod of acceptance. "I will take a contingent of five guards and complete your task to the letter; I will not fail." She continues by bowing slightly, before awaiting her dismissal. Once dismissed, she would head to the barracks to pick up five guards: one strong, one smart, one good with directions, one with good eyes, and one recruit before explaining to them their mission: to guide her to the first of the four swords, Anna.
'For all the Grand Marshal has done for me... I will not fail...'
The Grand Marshal puts his hand on Maryvale's shoulder and whispers to her:
"My loyal servant, retrieve the Universal Weapons for me, take how many soldiers you deem necessary and kill any mercenary in your path that tries to get the Universal weapons, also..."
He puts in her hand a sort of whistle in her hand.
"Use this when in trouble."
Maryvale takes the whistle and looks at him, though the expression she gave was unidentifiable due to being fully clad in armour. "Lord Marshal, are you sure this is wise...? I'm not all that great when it comes to directions, as you're well aware." She asks in a tone that is hard to pinpoint due to the distortion from her voice mechanism. "And might I ask what this whistle does, exactly?"
The Dark Knight, Maryvale Blood, was standing silently in the corner of the Grand Marshal's stage, keeping a sharp eye and ear out for danger. It was in times like these that an assassin may try to make their move against their target, where lots of people can see, yet at the same time, nobody can. The extensive crowd of varying types made for the perfect cover; those who wished the King of the Grand Marshal dead could easily sneak inside. It was just a matter of who and where.
Perhaps she was overthinking things. That was something the Grand Marshal warned her never to do. Overthinking instills panic and distress - it weakens the mind and therefore body. But she couldn't help it, given the circumstances.
Maryvale takes a deep breath, though you wouldn't be able to tell without a trained ear.
Her job was to protect the Grand Marshal and the King. She was a guard, like all those here. All she had to do was watch, and nothing more. 'Calm, Maryvale, calm.' She thought to herself. She wished she could go, however her duty was with his majesty and the Grand Marshal, her saviour. And besides, she knew that she couldn't navigate her way there. She barely knew the inner walls of the city!
No, she would wait patiently for the adventurers to go, and do as the Grand Marshal instructs, keeping watch for any dangers and acting on them if necessary.
Backstory: The Dark Knight Maryvale Blood - she is loyal to the King and sworn to obey the Grand Marshal of the kingdom. Living amongst the rabble in a prestigious city which denied her, Maryvale was essentially left to rot in her home city of Dou. Hungry, without a home, and no one to call family, Maryvale was on the verge of death when she was saved by the Grand Marshal of the kingdom. He raised her like a daughter, teaching her the ways of the Dark Knight, and thus Blood reveres him as both a father and a messiah.
She is never seen without her armour, and her voice is apparently distorted due to some kind of mechanism within it. She works closely with the Grand Marshal to help him accomplish his goals, and her skill with a sword and magic are rivalled by those in the Grand Marshal's personal guard. However, she is not without her weakness'. A lowly sense of direction and self-sacrificial combat abilities make her easy to confuse and defeat given the chance. Additionally, her knowledge on most things literate are poor, to the point that even her pronunciation of some words being wrong. Outside of combat or the use of using technology, she's practically useless.
Notable equipment:
Dark Vibrance, Maryvale's primary blade. It's incredibly durable, though slightly heavy, and works well with channeling dark magic, which Maryvale is quite capable of. When you go up against Dark Knight Blood, this is the weapon you face.
Max Healing potions (x5); Maryvale uses these in extreme emergencies, when she's taken too many hits and is on the brink of losing consciousness or even dying. They are pretty much an instant heal, however drawbacks include the possibility of poisoning, which can go on for days, and paralysis which lasts for a short time.
Dark Knight Armour: as seen in the image below, Maryvale dons a sleek set of armour befitting a Dark Knight. Whilst it's difficult to say what it's made of, one can be certain it's pretty durable, which is essential for Maryvale for without it she would likely die far more quickly.
Journal: Maryvale keeps a journal upon her person at all times which she takes notes about pretty much everything in. Despite her ineptitude for reading and writing, she has many entries, most of which appear to have been drawn out or written in for her by another.
Abilities:
Self-healing: Maryvale's signature trait is her self-healing ability. It begins several minutes after she has taken damage, and begins to reconstruct her body via magic. It's limited to physical injuries and poisoning, and makes her unable to regenerate any magic whilst she's healing, and any movement more intense than a walk pauses the process. However, the fact she can regenerate any physical injury given time is what makes her stand out the most. Of course, the more severe the injury, the longer it'll take to heal. A cut 1cm deep and 5cm's wide will generally take about 45 minutes to fully heal whilst walking.
Black Magic: Maryvale also has the ability to use black magic. This black magic is purely dark magic and can be channeled through her blade so to maintain a more accurate "stream", though nothing that resembles enchantments can be used. More often than not this black magic inflicts some kind of physical damage or drains the life force of Maryvale in return for it's tremendous attack power, however this can be used to her advantage.
Sacrificial Magic: another magic limited to the self, sacrificial magic is the magic that revolves around taking something away in return for power. In this case, by using Black Magic spells and attacks, Maryvale's attacks get stronger as more damage is inflicted upon her. She even has an ability, Reverse Sword Strike, in which the damage in which she has taken is applied directly to an enemy.

In the end, I did the only thing I really knew at the time:<br><br>Write as much garbage as possible and hope for the best!<br><br>As you can see, <font color="purple"><span class="bb-i">that particular tactic fucking failed.</span></font><br>Jokes aside, I like to think I've developed a lot over the years, both as a writer and as a person. However, absolutely nothing can dissuade my weeaboo ways and supporting my OTP with all that I can freaking muster! If you haven't already guessed, said OTP is <font color="darkblue">Chrom</font> <font color="pink">x</font> <font color="purple">Robin</font> (Chrobin) from Fire Emblem: <font color="darkblue">Awakening.</font> Highly recommend the game, there's a reason (other than nintendo's cheapskate attitude) that it hasn't dropped in price, it's honestly the best place to start off in the series. And hey, maybe you'll end up addicted like me and want to buy every game on the 3DS like a fucking loony?<br><br>Speaking of loonies, the <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeAWfrBMa2pytnTYnxAtiphQGJU3ojDD7">Fire Emblem Chrobin Comic Dub Project</a> has recently finished, so for those of you who also appreciate the best ship in existence, I highly recommend it. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I know it was the perfect thing for me.<br>	<br><br>	<br>	</div></th></tr></thead></table></div><br><img src="https://alynerd.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/tumblr_nvrmdwbdkf1ruyji8o1_1280.jpg?w=840" /><br><br><div class="bb-right"><font color="darkblue">"Do you think you can tip any of the scales in here?"</font><br><font color="purple">"Chrom, for the love of Naga, I'm thinking..."</font></div><hr class="bb-hr"><div class="table-responsive"><table class="bb-table table"><thead class="bb-thead"><tr class="bb-tr"><th class="bb-th"><font color="darkblue">"So I heard."<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	</font></th><th class="bb-th"><div class="bb-center"><img src="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DkvxGnlWwAEShes.jpg" /></div></th><th class="bb-th"><div class="bb-right"><font color="purple">"There are better places<br>to take a nap than <br>on the ground, you know."<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	</font></div></th></tr></thead></table></div><div class="hider-panel"><div class="hider-heading"><button type="button" class="btn btn-default btn-xs hider-button" data-name="A Hymn For Goldilocks">A Hymn For Goldilocks [+]</button></div><div class="hider-body" style="display: none"><div class="bb-center"><img src="https://static.tumblr.com/b572f57912d8b5345269f9dc72e04359/yveunmd/zEwn8f4ke/tumblr_static_4fc6jqggm90kg048ok0kkw0ww_640_v2.jpg" /></div><br><br>There is a universe. No-one knows it's name, where gravity wasn't strong enough to bind matter together and no stars formed. And because no stars formed, no stars exploded. And because no stars exploded, no planets came about. And because no planets came about, there was no life.<br><br>There's another universe, no one knows it's name, where gravity was strong enough and did light the stars and planets came about and boy, they were gorgeous, planets in perpetual winter, planets in perpetual summer, planets that could rival the Garden of Eden and no bloody snakes! <br>Goodbye Octopi.<br><br>There's another universe, where life formed on every planet, in every solar system, and it was carbon-based, it was silicon based, it was made of crystals and water and plasma, it was made of quantum fields and light, and everything was alive, everything was doing a boogie, and it was everybody's birthday, everyday, relatively, and everyone got presents, and they had over a trillion languages, some written down, some only spoken, some conducted telepathically, and they bought a galactic civilization together, as a perfect unity, sharing stories, sharing technology, speaking a common tongue, understanding everything about how the cosmos been put together. <br><br>And yet, for a quirk in their evolution, because resources weren't scarce enough on the planets these species developed on, not a single creature in the universe was conscious. Food was eaten and no-one enjoyed it. Movies were released, and there was no laughing, or crying. No-one chuckled at a joke. Ever.<br>Space collapsed back on itself, eventually, and there hadn't been a single moment of sentience in the entire history of creation.<br><br>There's another universe, where the strong force is too strong the weak force is too weak and nothing forms.<br>Another, where life develops too late when the Stars have all gone beyond the light boundary and there's nothing to even see. <br>Another with too many dimensions.<br>Another with not enough.<br>Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn<br>to survive.<br>Another that only lasts milliseconds, and collapses in on itself, and heads straight back to oblivion.<br>And that's how it just might be, across all possible universes, across all possible space times. Problems with the laws of nature, not enough resources, missteps in evolution.<br>An atlas of dead-ends.<br><br>Then again, there is one exception.<br><br>There's another universe, a big one, where life is rare, where intelligent life is very rare indeed, the stars are very distant from each other, the laws of nature are very complex, it's extremely lonely for any species developing, and most never even develop at all, but somewhere, we believe, is a planet where the oceans are vast, and the climate is varied. Where the smartest species on the planet may have developed just the right mix of ambition and kindness.<br>And if you were to travel there, to this unbelievably rare statistical anomaly, to this impossibly lucky planet, where evolution, biology, chemistry, nae, the laws of physics themselves have come together to create sentient intelligent life, you may be able to catch the native inhabitants singing for joy. Of what an impossibly lucky, and rare position they find themselves in. <br>It is a chant of gratitude, a ritual of showing appreciation for ending up in perhaps the one universe, in the one solar system, on the one planet with all the basic ingredients for intelligent, conscious life.<br><br>~Exurb1a</div></div></div>
