Current Remember, nobody actually enjoys roleplaying if there isn't at least five shameful fetishes uncovered by the 2nd page.

Somebody stole my mood ring. I don't know how to feel about it.

Let's be honest, it's far more satisfying and challenging to actually imagine what a character looks like than paste a hundred gifs of a celebrity and call it good.

So, a team of players who are good at playing as a team in a team-based game are individually bad players. Seems kind of silly when you put it like that, no?

My goal these days is to have an RP that can actually finish, or the very least, last a few years. I see way too many die on page one to take chances

@my Lalia I don't know if Musketman is still in the RP or if he dropped because of the family matters, but if he's still a part of this, Ardan would choose Ryland entirely because he's human. Afterwards, he might even think humans were useful for something.

If we're just going off of currently active players, it would come down to who would be the least compromised from a torture session without hindering the team.

Nik's the leader, so he's the guy coming up with all the plans and acting like the figurehead. It might destroy the team if the leader was incapacitated and unable to perform.

Daro's unlikely to survive torture, and her being a medic means she's pretty much invaluable.

Raya's the heavy hitter and requires mobility to be effective. She also has the most versatile combat skills.

Sorry Haze, you don't need to walk very well to shoot well, do you?
It's mainly bad if you're applying to another game and people there know you're unreliable. Might really hinder your ability to participate in a lot of games with people who know you down the road.
Great answers guys! :D I'm surprised more people weren't inclined to go for family over strangers.

Ardan, I don't think, would hesitate to go for the bystanders because it's pretty much a turian obligation to put society's needs before your own, and the ruthless math ends up that many lives are worth more than one, and it would be more than one family that suffers the loss.

We're also talking about a society that thinks fighting to the death and only one survivor emerging in victory is considered the best shit ever. Turians are kinda hardcore like that.

Interestingly, if I were playing my krogan characters, they'd probably be inclined to save the family/ friend and screw everybody else. Heavy losses of life are a common thing for krogan, and it's hard to find someone you trust and like enough to consider worth helping.

Alright! Next scenario, who wants to helm this one?
@Ellri Six hours, 56 plus minutes after sacking.
If you could make it 56 minutes+ it would be grand because there's a collab starting between Tolun, Alat, and Shiri.
@DJAtomikaI'll take it and fill it up with sloth videos.

Indeed, I've been doing this for far longer than I'd like to admit and you learn one thing in that time and that is that people in Roleplays come and go like the tides; coming and drifting out back to sea. In a perfect world everybody stays in the things they started and all the roleplays get completed to their inevitable end. But that doesn't happen and people lose interest or life happens or whatever and they must part ways. Trying to force that to change is like trying to tell Putin to stop being an evil Bond villain trying to take over the world, it just doesn't work. You just gotta let it happen sometimes you gotta shake the house up a little bit and see who's left inside. We have like five people who obviously don't wana give up on this yet and that can keep this thing going for awhile yet and yes if it is deemed needed as Dervish pointed out it is not really hard to let people in. Frankly I should've just not waited for Nevermind and we probably wouldn't of ran into this problem in the first place but that is what I get for trying to be nice. Curse you cruel cruel world.

Anyway summer goes as summer goes usually I complain that it is too hot, go surfing, take naps on the beach before remembering that it is till too damn hot. Summer and I have a very complicated relationship.

Don't worry Lalia I think we have established that we are not going anywhere so just take your time, we don't rush perfection here we try to create it and fail miserably in the process created twisted mutated abominations that kind of maybe look like stories at the right angle.

And thought exercises are an interesting idea. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

It's been my experience that you're always going to hemorrhage a few people in the first month before the core of players remain, kind of like sifting for gold. I also find that fairly active OOCs tend to keep a game nice and healthy even if the posting rate is slow; it at least shows the players are bonding and are invested enough to hang around. I also found out that games can't wait up for anybody unless they give a concrete time for when they'll be posting, because I've had a few experienced where I've had game grind to a halt for weeks waiting on one person. That kind of spelled the beginning of the end. D: Coincidentally, it was also a Mass Effect RP I put a loooot of time and effort into.

I've never lived anywhere close to where surfing was a thing. I think you're the first person I've met who does it! And for whatever reason, this is the first year I've noticed the heat actually getting to me and being pretty intolerable. Usually I'm totally fine with it being a broiler outside, but this year... not so much. >_> Although being up North, I'm sure what I consider hot is probably run of the mill normal for most of you guys.

@McHaggis Rain's very hit or miss where I live in central Alberta. Some years, you'll get three solid months of it followed by no rain for two months (like literally, no rain at all), and this year it's once in a while, but it's always a thunderstorm. In short, the weather here is very temperamental.

Alright! Let's do some of these thought exercises. We'll each take turns coming up with a scenario (one at a time) and everyone who wants to can join in with a response for what their character would do in any particular situation.

Let's start off with something simple: Your character is given a choice between saving someone they care about most (family member, lover, friend, your choice) and a large group of innocent bystanders. There is no way to save both, and the choice has to be made immediately. What would they do?

I'll answer after I get a few replies in; I need to get something to eat. :D

DING DING DING Give the man a prize!

OH SWEET.

Wut do I get

Damn it!!! I had a post all written out, then the server did something weird and lost it all...... -_-

This is why I always copy what I'm about to post before I hit send. Sorry to hear about that!
This summer is one of free-loading and slacking~ Done with high school as of April and I have until September when I start at Glasgow Uni to read my set text list and keep pissing around on Skype with friends. I've been daytripping around my home country too just for fun, probably going to keep doing that!

Sooooo... basically nothing planned, yeah.

Also I think the thought exercises might be quite good if everyone's up for it ^^

And that's the way to do it! Although, I do recommend you and your friends try going on a trip together. Some of my favorite post-high school memories are the group camp trips and that time we all went white water rafting. :D Either way, you're getting out and it sounds like a good time.

I'll try to come up with an exercise soon, maybe an epiphany will occur when I take el doge out for a run in a bit. :D

In Asia there is no summer. D:

I'm up for it. As long as our other players are still here, which is what I keep trying to find out but Hex is complaining so I'll stop.

Ah! Where abouts in Asia are you? I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark and guess Singapore, and then cry when I lose all my game show earnings on bad answers.

Well, it's easy to see where Hex is getting the idea you're pestering people, you have been pretty vocal at trying to get people to respond instead of just letting things run their course. The way I look at it, either people will drop out or be slow to reply, but as long as there's a solid core of a few players, there's nothing to worry about for the game surviving.

Plus, this kind of game is pretty easy to introduce new characters. It's when you're all the crew of a starship that's a problem.
Hell, it's been quiet in here, so let's get some conversation going!

What do you guys have planned over the summer? I've been on a job hunt and have been out of school for a while so I don't really get time off like I used to, but I was hoping to plan a week-long trip out to Vancouver by hoping on the train, and I want to get out camping in the mountains again this year since I only managed to go once last year (and only once paintballing, which is unheard of for me). Also, I highly recommend never moving, ever. It is such a pain in the ass, and I'm currently purging my apartment of a lot of stuff I don't ever use and trying to pack up stuff I do use with what few boxes I actually have.

Also, I was thinking it would be fun to do some OOC activities/ thought exercises related to our characters of what they would do in hypothetical situations. Might be a way to realize something about your character that you never knew, and it'll give other players an idea of what your character's like in ways they didn't already see in the character sheets or IC.
I think that was simply supposed to be a rolecall rather than pestering, mostly because the OOC's been pretty quiet the past little while. o.o

In other news, if you guys haven't looked at my sheet yet, enjoy his comments about your characters. ;D
