1. "Shortcuts"
Max has the unique ability to access a series of "shortcuts," a portal grid across Aria Bay. How it got there is unknown - he theorizes it arose when his powers were enabled. He can use this to warp between different areas, including Jackson's Pizza, the campus of Beacon University, his dorm, and three different streets in the town. However, he can only use "Shortcuts" if he's already in an area where one is present. There might be other grids of portals in other towns, but he hasn't left to go find out...Yet. This takes a moderate amount of energy, and overuse will induce nose bleeds, migraines and eventually passing out.
2. "Shortcut" Creation
While it will take some time to get to this point, Max will eventually be able to use a high amount of energy to create "shortcuts." Often times, he will find himself unable to use a "shortcut" for a minute after creating one, making it impractical for high-speed getaways. It also often causes nose bleeds just to create one "shortcut."
3. Enhanced Reflexes
While they're not at the level of Spider-Senses or similar "first warning" systems, Max's reflexes are higher, and he can avoid attacks more efficiently than you'd think at first glance. However, you have to keep in mind...He can't keep dodging forever, and when attempting to dodge bullets, he's got nothing.
Skills:
Graphic Design - Being it's his minor in college right now, Max knows some things about graphic design. While he's less inclined to it than someone who would normally pick it as their major, he knows enough to make it work. He was taught what he knew before going into college by Scott, surprisingly enough.
Music - Another obvious one, being he's a music major. Less inclined to performing punk rock music than you would think at first glance.
Stealth - His time with Barry taught him well about sneaking around, and he'll gladly use this ability if he has to.
Lockpicking - Another thing his time with Barry taught him. He hasn't had much practice with it in a while, but it'll come in handy in a pinch.
College studies: Music major, Graphic Design minor
Appearance: He has brown, medium-length, kinda messy hair that usually covers his left eye, brown eyes, and a bit of a ski-slope nose. He has an egg-shaped head, and an average build, with pale skin. He stands at about 5'8". Usually, he wears a black beanie, a black leather jacket over some kind of punk-rock themed T-shirt, black jeans and matching sneakers. He never leaves home without his antique silver pocket watch, gifted to him by his father - you can see the chain poking out of his left front pocket.
Backstory:
During most of his time growing up, Max's life was pretty normal. He didn't make many friends growing up, however he does have one he still keeps in touch with to this day - Samuel Glase. At first, they seemed pretty similar - they both liked video games, they both wore the same style of outfit...But, as they grew up, things began to change. Whereas Samuel became more focused on knowledge-based growth, Max became more focused with having fun while he could. He took particularly accustomed to music. Sam eventually had to move away, but they kept in touch.
Then, one fateful day, his father went out to work...And he didn't come back. Max later got news that he died in a car crash. Things were hard for Max after that, and he didn't cope well. He slowly became more rebellious, and started acting tougher, less kind to people, believing that if you want something in life, you have to take it, and make sure nobody takes it back. He made another friend during this "phase," that only seemed to enhance his behavior - Scott Jonathan.
Soon, his mother re-married, and he didn't like who she married to one bit - Mark Davidson, an ex-soldier who was in the Iraq War. While what he does is, supposedly, for them, he seemed to crack down hard on Max and Scott's rebellious behavior - it seemed that he treated Max more like a soldier than a son. However, this only seemed to amplify his urges to rebel. He ran off one night, and met a man named Barry Anderson. He and Scott stayed with the man for about a short while, during which they learned some...Questionable skills. The two returned home exactly one week after they met Barry, though they left owing him money for protecting them from violent criminals during the week - and got a good scolding from Mark.
Not long after, Scott...Disappeared. Max, imaginably, wasn't happy - he left missing person posters all over the place, hoping someone had seen him. After a while, this became determination to finally leave this place once and for all, believing Aria Bay itself is the cause for the people he cares about disappearing. He's currently saving up to this day, so that he can leave Aria Bay behind him - without paying Barry his money or giving his "step-freak" a single goodbye.
