Elpis: The Maiden of Hope

"Come on Pearl, you knew that could just call me Phoebe. I think our experiences together warrants that." Phoebe let out a sigh of relief, it seems that she's currently on her 'prim and proper mode’ which means the talk could start on a good footing. She probably needed that for the night.

Nobody was sure when and how Pandora emerged so suddenly. Her only public knowledge is a cleverly placed foreshadowing in a single line of ‘Maidens of Might and Magic’ lore book and an already deleted video that somehow guessed her existence with wrong information. It seems the video was deleted too late because Pandora latched onto Pearl.

The problem is that she is not meant to be Pandora, the smug girl now known as Scheherazade is supposed to be. It was a chaotic mess when everyone found out. If there is a silver lining, it is that both are weirdly enthusiastic about the switch-up compared to her. Due to time constraints, Aspera decided to deploy her first in the meantime.

“But yes, let me explain why I asked for this, unfortunately I think Pandora is the one who is likely to know the answer” Phoebe opened before taking a deep breath, here goes nothing.

“So remember that I was supposed to be in a joint patrol with another hero?” She started the conversation.

“Well by the end of that I saw from emotion sensing something that might be equivalent to what you’re about to make me see. An impossible chasm…”

A chasm. A chasm unfathomable, one that could not be circumnavigated no matter how grand one's wings were. An alien gale whipped through sheer cliff faces, while beneath bubbled black waters whose toxicity caused birds themselves to plummet to their doom. Such was the hatred, the spite, the obsessive rage lying beneath the surface of the Moon Arrow, that all thoughts, all mirth, all childish petulance was silenced by the shadow within Amaris. There was no coming back from that. No coming back from this.

“What does that thing supposed to mean?”

He gives the chance to surrender but he is lying about the time he is giving
Cristina Bernardino

Cristina didn't waste anytime as she immediately made use of her own powers. The bullets are too slow against her honed reactions, a simple blink made her closer to guards compared to their guns. She couldn't rely on her flames due to the fire suppressing systems so she will do this the old fashioned way.

A slash would cut one of the bodyguard's arms cutting it off, there won't be a time for a shout before she slashed another's head off. A blink will send her to the back stabbing another man's chest. A bullet landed on her shoulder and was promptly ignored. This is not a fight, it a one sided slaughter.

She didn't need to defend, if no one can keep up with her attack.

She would continue her assault, if not for a timely message.

"Time to leave." her voice muttered as she blinked to Victor silently held him with her blooded arm and blink to the range where she could Mirage space on everyone.

Labored breaths can heard from Cristina as she checked if everyone is ready to leave.
Marcus let out a sweat drop from his forehead. It's him and an enemy alone with no foreseeable reinforcements. There will be no second chances and the question of who will get to walk away is going to be decided by a game of chicken.

"This is Bumble Sting of the EDF." his distorted voice spoke matter of factly as he pressed on. He has no interest at being an aggressor or surrendering a good advantage to his enemy.

"If I want to shoot you in the back we won't be having this conversation." He pointed out as he stabilized his aim at the torso just slightly above the cockpit, just one click and battle will be over but not yet.

"I have no reason to face you in the open, so you either disable that walker or I'll destroy it at the count of three." he announced as the other began hearing a count.

"One!"

"Two!"

"BANG!"

There is no three because Marcus would rather be liar than a dead man.
I'll take that
Yeah but it wasn't it was a mecha from Shangri-la Frontier called Kingfisher

Found this while watching this is a better image for Bumblesting
The Bumblesting begin operating to its at maximum mobility capacity, giving considerable strain to him and the machine. At this situation he had no one rely but himself and singular mistake might mean death.

He cannot afford to die, he needed to go back.

He cannot leave Elizabeth be alone.

Marcus took a deep breath as Bumblesting have chase to what he thinks is an enemy Myrmodon. Firing shots at the slightest indication of movement even as he speaks through open channels.

"Unknown Myrmodon, I suggest you surrender and you'll get to keep your life."
Ashley nodded at the Crow's words although it is clear to her that said sentience is giving Crow few problems. Maybe she could lend a hand...

"I assume that it also puzzled you at times." she noted, not asked to the Crow. "Human societies tend to be very complicated and ceremonial after all."

Her voice is laced with a bit of cynism. Ashley is a human studying history and even she can't help but perplexed at times after all.

"Don't be afraid to ask me any questions you have, I'll do my best to answer." she offered to the Crow as she sat on a nearby bench. Wait that laundry shop has a Help Wanted on the window.

That could wait, helping Nevermore goes first.

"Good day, Ashley," he said. He glanced over at Mario's. "Am I to assume your surveying the area in which we had our brush with death? Fear not, for I have informed the other crows of the man who attacked us, and they will be keeping an eye out for him and any other shenanigans that may happen in the area."

The Crow had yet to grasp the idea of small talk, it seemed.

Ashley's thoughts snapped back to reality as she try to find the source of the voice her eyes would soon on the Crow's and a sigh of relief escaped her mouth, she is getting a bit more paranoid these days.

And perhaps she should really be.

"Nevermore right? That is actually a good call, I don't how we're going to take advantage of that but information is always a good thing to have." she addressed the Crow with Emily's given name, she must admit that it was far better than Corvid, the name she planned to bestow. It appears that literature is a good source of names for pets.

"I'm not really scouting per se, more like searching for some side hustle." she admitted to the Crow as raised her old phone to pretend that she is taking a call before nodding to Nevermore. He probably didn't have a concept of money and paid labor as a crow.

"How's the first days of being sentient treating you, I could give some advice but your case is novel in my perspective."

Maybe someone from the Organization would give him a better advice but the topics they could discuss are quite few.
