A ragged, cloaked figure slipped into the bar. It soundlessly loomed up behind the adventuring party, surveying each person there. It raised its gloved hands, inhaled a raspy breath, and...

A cat that had wandered in tackled the cloaked figure's head. It was knocked over and remained still on the floor, the feline sitting atop Suliss's head and preening. It didn't seem that Suliss was unconscious, rather it was just staying still to not further arouse the cat's wrath.

Sure thing!

Auz climbed to his feet, but couldn't speak immediately. He had to get his wind back. He could only make throaty whistling noises as he sucked in air. Why had he been given time to recover? What was with the mid-fight banter? After several seconds he recovered and looked up into Xavier's eyes.

*zap*

It hit him like a jolt of hot electricity, igniting a deep flame inside his ribcage. Some say there is such a thing as love at first sight. Maybe, maybe not, who can say? It wasn't a bolt of electric love that hit Auz though. It was battle-lust, the realisation that he had met a like-minded individual; another combat aethetist who lived only for bloodsport.

Call it what you want. At the core, it was simply the meeting of a strange and rare breed of true companions. The kind of companions that more often than not meet only once in a lifetime, because that lifetime has been dedicated to the pursuit of strength and violence. Rivals, worthy opponents, soul enemies...

"On your toes? You'll be a regular ballet dancer when I'm through with you."

Auz raised his longsword in both hands, sliding his left leg back and keeping a shoulder's width parting between his feet. He advanced two paces and, afterwards with a yell, the tip of his blade darted out towards Xavier's midsection. A surprisingly straightforward attack...

@Xavier Bloodbayne

This fight could last a while since both characters are so damn hard to get rid of. That's what makes it good though. Plenty of time for each fighter to have their ups and downs as the advantage gets tossed back and forth. After post #50 I'll apply a new song to the match.
@Xavier Bloodbayne

Auz was off balance when Xavier attacked. He got kicked in the chest, losing his breath as his breastplate dented in. When all was said and done, he'd have landed hard on his back seven feet away, skidding another five and leaving a small trench in the ground behind. Auz didn't intent to go easily though. It seemed that Xavier was coating his leg in blood to protect it, but could enough of the blood reach all the way down to his ankle in time, and how much damage could it absorb?

Auz wasn't nearly as strong as Xavier, nor as durable. Speed? That was a lot closer by now, though Xavier still likely had an advantage. Auz knew this, and he made up for it with incredible timing and precision. He swiped his dagger back the way it had came and up beneath Xavier's ankle as the foot pounded into his breastplate, the narrow, razor sharp blade set to sever Xavier's Achilles tendon and hobble him. It was doubtful that Xavier could reach down with a blade quick enough to beat Auz's dagger to the mark and intercept it.

Note:

By the way everyone I forgot to mention that this roleplay is heavily in the realm of Batman so when it comes to powers or mutations I am going to allow this as long as you don't make yourself completely untouchable. So if you wanna be a crocodile man or something like that feel free. Just know the prisoner will be accommodated to keep you confined with whatever you choose to have. Just add section in your bio pertaining to this if it applies to you.

Ah, funny you should mention that. I mainly use Donny in hard boiled roleplays, one of which actually took place Gotham.

It died early though, sadly, so there's nothing very interesting on that thread. I'll include a link to an old but good Watchmen-style roleplay where Donny was the main baddie. Why? Because it's good reading if you're into noir superhero junk. Perhaps his dirty deeds carried on over to Blackgate and they have a record of that shit.

@Xavier Bloodbayne

Auz didn't just stop in swinging range. He kept moving forwards to keep Xavier from being able to back away fast enough, if back away he did, in order to get inside Xavier's guard. Auz drew his longsword pommel up before his chest after his slash was deflected, ready to parry any split second attacks. At the same time he shifted his dagger into a reverse grip as he moved his buckler into the way of the swinging greatsword's crossguard. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Xavier hadn't rooted his feet to the ground with blood claws or something (he probably could), so the immense force of his blow against Auz would have almost as much effect on him, perhaps budging him a bit in the opposite direction. Meanwhile, as Auz tumbled to his right he'd let the force of the sword hitting his buckler lend power to the horizontal slash of his dagger, intending to draw it across Xavier's belly with blurring speed to spill some guts. He'd be ready to extend his arm further out in case his foe tried backing up or twisting away.
