Current Its a fun feeling to just sit and think about what to do for responses. The flipside is feeling locked in place, waiting for another to go first on something.

You ever take a look at the forum board, not see anything of ready interest, and decide to just go about your day? Figured I'd see if a new game was interesting, nope, ah well.

Bio

I already did an earlier introduction, but this is something one could always see, so let's roll.

Serene is the pen name that I use over on my old G+ account, which if you're able to find the account before the site shuts down, is Serene Selphia, but no fancy url, lol. But to those I'm close enough to, my nickname is Chris, and if I ask you to not use it, its nothing personal, I'm just not ready for that level of friendliness. That isn't to say I'm not a friendly person, just that I can be a bit professional when it comes to stuff. I've been rping since like...2011 I think? If I could find the Minecraft rp forums I started on(yes those were a thing, it was actually full of good rpers, but all good things come to an end of course), I'd have a precise date.

I roleplay a lot of things, well, that was the old system. About four years back, I settled down in a roleplay community on G+ called Temple of Glory, and began to stick to just one character who I kept working on, using other characters as I felt the need. That was my current primary character's father, a character I'll call the Professor for now, as I intend to post a version of his character sheet later. Probably when doing so wouldn't spoil what became of him in a storyline. Anyway, after a point I burned out as him, and switched focus to his daughter, who I use primarily in the old roleplay hub I come from. The Good Doctor, and here, no spoilers, mostly because ahaha, I'm shy about that.

I love a lot of series, but my heart goes out mainly to Rune Factory, Sonic, Mega Man, Metroid, Mario, Pokemon, and Duel Monsters. Especially Rune Factory and Sonic, though lately I've fostered a love for the Nasuverse, Fate Grand Order is a fun time. I love to read a variety of things, and I'm always online unless sleeping, so feel free to drop me a line if you need it. While I'm relatively new to the site here, I'm an rp veteran, and a skilled writer, as you'll see whenever I post the Doctor's current profile.

Ah right, more on me. I'm a college senior presently, I just had my capstone for my history degree wrapped up, and I'm proud of my progress. While I am a loner by nature(I mean my writing often keeps me trapped in my room to meet paper deadlines), I'm still a sociable person, and if you can't reach me here, my Discord is Serene Selphia#1064. So I suppose that's a bit of a spoiler, but to who, I won't say. Just be forewarned, if you ask me about a character of mine, there's a risk I'll write a lot, so make sure you're totally fine with that.

In terms of roleplay, while I do mainly fantasy/science-fiction, I can roll with just about anything(as far as I know), but if I tell you its not working for me, don't take it personally. I'm a fairly detailed writer, and in terms of style, I'm good with both combat and non-combat related narratives, I mean, my current main was built for combat initially, whereas her father is more the sociable type. The most detailed things tend to when I describe the world around, or when writing profiles for characters I adore. Basically, if I'm in tune or really love something, you could get a lot. I once wrote about twenty pages on a google doc in two hours because I loved it so much. Weird flex sure, but you can understand it. I don't look for much in rp partners, so long as you can write me enough that I understand either what you're doing, or what's going on, I'm usually good. I'll generally drop a line if I need more information.

I love learning, so if you ask me about something, and I don't have an answer, I'll gladly take the time to do at least a basic amount of research. And if you're ever stumped for ideas, drop me a line, I'm always glad to help fellow veterans or the newer folk. Heck, at one point for a friend's group I wrote an entire(albeit unused) document full of random plot ideas for the group drawn from throughout film and video games. Point is, if you need someone to talk to, unless I'm in a bad mood, or its a bad time(aka I'm about to go to bed, or in class), I'm always up for at least a quick chat. I do take commissions, so if you want a fanfiction written, give me a holler, or if you just want a custom story about a character of mine, or just ask for them to give their input on something in a non-serious setting. Still debating what to set prices for, or if I work totally free...I mean I should charge something, but anyways, wew, talk about a ramble, eh?

Anyways, that's about it. I'll probably rewrite this as needed.
Restating ways to reach me as needed!

Could just be strong inspiration if I'm honest.

I know I'm really feeling it, that's for sure.
Yeah, I'll try to dial back. It's just that my thing was a two parter, so it should be shorter from here on out for initial introduction stuff at least. I just like writing a lot, hope that's cool-
Tbh, back before I switched to inline, whenever I spoke back in the old world, I'd do the breakup, I switched to a more "natural" approach, to make it easier to mix actions and text. When I said PKer, I moreso meant players in the old game killing other players if possible, or at least made them miserable.

Haha, glad you like the ship idea. I can come up with more as needed, having a lore junkie is fun. Because uh, I'd be a lore junkie if I was into a game like Emerald Odyssey. Just lemme know if you want more random ideas! Thanks for the feedback. When I do monologues, I can expand it outward when new talking starts.
@Lady Amalthea

Totally getcha. I can probably adapt a variant of the Good Doctor into things. Her series is weird(no joke, you have war elephants alongside tanks and airships being used, along with mounted knights as the most common fighters, but then the bad guys had a giant floating air fleet of stone ships), but fun. Fantasy/Steampunk/Science Fiction. They even had running water and electrical energy despite looking straight out of the middle ages.

Good old Rune Factory. And then the Expanded Universe happened, and chaos ensued.

I love writing, so its a load of fun to come here, and realize that I'm finally amid folks who aren't either college kids ready to retire, or thinking they will, or high school and lower who are the rising crop of new rpers. As a college senior, I'm like one of the older rpers from my writing group. But here, dunno if I'm on the younger end, or just about average. Still, its great, to find so many wonderful tales being told.
Drat, phone died while I was near the end of that reply. Anyway, hope its good, if I need to make any changes or clarify anything, lemme know. Any good, readable colors I could use for Indy's voice? So it'll stand out more when he talks. Fair uh, warning, he's a chatty admin if you get him going, so if I monologue at any point, you know I'm getting into character.

Also hope its fine that I mentioned a thieves group stealing a ship. Other question I have is...I forgot it. If I remember, I'll edit it in. Oh right, I remember. Would there be Playerkillers who ran around causing trouble? Asking for an idea of something I might mention. Regarding a past teammate of Indy's who he's worried is out there causing trouble.
Indiana Jones

Eventually, all things must come to an end. Even as good as the tea was, it was over too quickly, and Chris, nay Indiana sighed, setting it down. Somehow despite the size difference, he managed. Albeit, it was super slow, as he wasn't sure of his own strength. Once that was done, he tried something, only to freeze as the map of the guild headquarters came up before him in thin air, realizing that it was like...that one movie, where data screens could appear in front. Which made him wonder...he got to his feet, slowly, carefully, turning even as Meg returned, a bag over one shoulder. He glanced to it, then looked to her. Meg chuckled. "Remember? Someone wanted their walking stick enchanted into an actual magic staff? You wanted me to deliver this Staff of Furious Rose Petals to them for you?" It took him a minute, then he remembered, and nodded. Some actor wanted it for their performance, but he couldn't recall if it was a player or an NPC. Oh well, someone in the Guild who did acting alongside being a crafter, if he recalled right. "Yeah, I remember, I'm gonna go to the plaza, see if anyone's around who might have some missions for us, alright? Gotta work hard, after all, I'm not a good Artificer if I'm not exploring and or inventing." This prompted a light laugh from both of them, before Meg walked over, and lightly kissed his cheek, or at least tried to, standing on her toes, before huffing and lowering. "Jeez, stop being so tall!" "Warn me next time, so I can stoop. Be safe, alright?" This got an annoyed grunt from Meg, before the big sister typed elf turned, waving farewell as she headed off. Soon as he heard the door to the outside click shut, he quickly turned, as quickly as able, glancing around the room, seeing some of his gear. His climbing gear for scaling cliffs, that most people wouldn't find useful, but as someone who literally went anywhere he wanted as able, even if it meant venturing into unfinished areas or areas that hadn't rendered properly, having all the equipment one could use was helpful. He grabbed each item, rope, grappling hooks, even a rope ladder, and stored them away on his person, figuring out he had an actual inventory still in the process. Cool. He put his hat back on, grabbing his travel coat from a hook, pulling on with a bit of difficult, and then checked in the full length mirror he used when trying on outfits, smiling. Only to stop, and try, but fail to snap his fingers. "Whoops! Forgot the bag and whip!"

Going to a chest, he rooted through it real fast, glad that it worked like a normal storage chest for the most part, pulling out a whip and satchel. It had cost him some gold for the otherwise cosmetic items, but the whip at least was good for some combat. The lack of good modern firearms would be an issue, but still. Putting on the bag, and attaching the whip at his waist, Chris did one final check, before the newly arrived Indiana Jones, pleased with the results, turned, and walked down and out of his quarters. Down the hall he went, passing no one, his clawed feet slapping against the stone tiles, before he arrived in the guild entrance hall, glancing around, still seeing no one. This concerned him a tad, but he shrugged, adjusted his hat, and walked outside.

To an outsider, it was like a castle, or a really big mansion, that was the Guild Headquarters. The Guild Leader and other higher ranked players, such as the actual treasurer, and officers, were the cause, they had put the long hours in paying for the construction of the building. From their own skills, to hiring others to do it, it had risen, level by level. From an originally small plot of land, to now a fully fledged estate. Sure, it wasn't as big or as grand as some of the higher ranked guilds in the leaderboards, but they were trying. As Indiana strode into the sunlight, he lifted a hand to block out the light, only to twist to let a pair of Goblins run past, the duo carrying a flat loaded up with stone bricks. Ah, if he remembered right, they were expanding the back of the headquarters, to add a new area for the latest member to attain the rank of journeyman, and thus move out of the apperantice/fresh meat group barracks. He'd been a bit of a journeyman for awhile, and was quite happy, though he had no intent to rise too high in the guild. At least, originally, that had been the intent. If he could rise to the Master rank later, perhaps.

Keeping up his pace, Indiana stopped at the gates out, seeing the Guild-NPCs, special NPCs designed to be tied to the Guild itself, worked the gates, opening them enough to let him out. He offered a smile and a wave, seeing a pair of bow elves up in the towers that acted as the front gate security, and smiled more. It seemed that some aspects were still intact. But with pep and purpose in his step, to hide his nerves, Chris hurried down the path from the overlook, and after a bit of dodging carts and people, arrived at the plaza. Sure, it had all been to help his new body adjust, being taller, heavier, and well, bigger, made for an adjustment. Thankfully, he was mindful of his own center of gravity.

"Hey!" His voice rang out, draconian in every sense of the world, more than likely drawing some attention as the red scaled dragonkin approached the group, joy in his tone. It was more than likely at least one of the others gathered knew of the Artificer, as while dragonkin were a bit rare, Artificers Dragonkin were likely unheard of. Plus with a standing out appearance that was literally Indiana Jones but a dragon, it was hard to not at least recognize the look, even if the name would elude them. He lifted a hand in greeting, seeing at least two faces he knew of. The Ganondorf lookalike was high on the cooking leaderboard, if he remembered right, and the Storm Giant, well, again, he'd seen the guy around. "Thank heavens I'm not the only one! I was afraid I'd have to rough it on my own, well with my right hand teammate who's not one of us at least." It probably got an odd look from those passerbys who didn't understand, but the other players would get he was referring to the NPCs that players could make. He'd caught the tail end of things, and frankly, he was relived, to see that they were already considering their situation. "I can't say I know what's going on, besides parallel universe theory, multiverse theory, or alien abductions, or a fluke of a reality shift. But I did binge most of the lore on my own, so I can at least help fill folks in on minor stuff. Major stuff we should already know is something else." His voice was cheery, even if there was a faint undercurrent of nervousness. He placed a hand on his hip, sighing softly. "No, but seriously, everyone else has their map and inventory at least, right? Any other features we know of? I was able to drink some tea earlier."

He said the bit about tea in response to the girl who had spoken of drinking, before shaking his head regarding anything else. "Don't know about skills, but given my friend Meg just went to make a delivery, and an expansion to the guild housing was underway, regardless of any other players, the world itself is seemingly fine. Hell, apparently if we have backstories, they're here. No joke, my character's old man in his backstory is alive and kicking, and I'm probably going to go find him, see if he's alright later." It was a bit of a mouthful, but the jist of it was, it was more than just their NPCs or world around them come to life. It was literally as if they'd woken up in another world, rather than a world that was suddenly made. "We should explore the areas around, see if anything new has appeared. Its possible the new expansion is in this world too, but I honestly couldn't guess what it was, they kept a tight lid on that." He leaned in then, sighing. Despite his confidence, Indiana was concerned still, worried. "Am I the only one worried about something happening, and monsters now roaming free of their previously assigned spawn points, to cause trouble outside of dungeons?" His mind was racing, and while on the journey to the plaza earlier, he'd gone over the design of the world in his head, recalling its rough tech level, major groups, who ruled the nation, where the higher end stuff was, and hell, major historical events. Like that thieves guild who had hijacked a ship a few months back he'd heard about. He could only imagine the chaos that might result now from the world being...real.

Hopefully no one else was about to panic, right?

Rockverse

Diplomatic Headworld, Sector Gamma

Council of Masters, we have detected a hereto unknown type of spacial manipulation emanating from Forward World Epsilon, localized to Exploratory Force 1's Barracks. A follow up has confirmed the loss of their Aerial Data Collection unit, to a bluish light. What is the council's decision? Though one spoke, the voice was yet many. A song of a thousand Scientist Troopers, singing out from a dozen worlds, echoing around the council chamber, where twelve androids sat, each one seated upon a throne, a thirteenth throne, seated further back, towered above all the rest, empty, but designed for something multiple stories high. The smaller thrones were enough for the three story tall Masters to rest comfortably. Though their forms were shrouded in shadow, their response was likewise a hum of voices, a song in response. "Trans-verse Research Teams One through Twelve. We have consulted, and have decreed that contact be reestablished with the lost unit, they will be frightened at being separated from the Whole. From the Goddess's Own. This may be a sign of the Mother, a call for us to make a holy journey to her, seeking answers. We will relay this information to the other branches, and to the Mother World. Continue studying the occurrence, but do not proceed too far should the projected risks outweigh our objectives. The loss of one unit is ultimately acceptable. So says the Council of Masters."

So as the Council of Masters hath decreed, so shall it be. We will continue our investigations into the occurrence, and attempt to determine its point of origin. May the Goddess of the Universe smile upon our work, and grant us her blessings. The song ended, and the chamber fell into silence, the council sitting upon their thrones, silent, conversing amid each other through imagery and text in data transmission. A sudden shadow was cast across the space, as a massive unit materialized into existence, seated atop the highest throne, their form even darker, each council member's attention drawn naturally. The Grandmaster had made her presence known, the immense machine gazing across the chamber, before her voice boomed, echoing throughout the space. "Council of Masters, the High Council is most pleased with this news. We expect regular updates in turn. Have a fleet on standby should the need arise. We are joyous, let this be a journey to new lands and worlds, to seek the face of our Goddess. To honor her tenets, and earn her favor. Rejoice, Children of the Rock, for she shall watch over us, and grant us passage into the promised after realm, to sit at her hall, to be recorded in the Chamber of Warriors. So says the High Council."

Each Master lowered their head, accepting the words of faith from on high, soon each one's voice swelled, in praises and cries, before finally, they ceased. The Grandmaster lifted a single hand, and then vanished into a flash of blue light, dematerializing, returning to their own chambers. One by one, each Master vanished as well, warping away to their assigned worlds. In the heart of the Headworld, the Grandmaster reformed, gazing down upon the control station, the power arrays traversing energy across the entire artificial world, located in the middle of their holdings. The light was beautiful, the statue of their Goddess that was the containment for the power station radiating the energy outward. But her face was hidden, out of respect for their missing deity. The Grandmaster stared ahead, and now alone, where none but her own voice could be heard, sighed softly. "Mother, you forsook us, abandoning us, why so? For five thousand years we have honored your tenets, but still you are silent. Still the Motherworld lies silent. Why? Please, hear my prayer...come home to us, your children, who you formed from the sweat and blood of your own efforts. And made in your image. Please, guide us, as you did so long ago. Unify us again." Her voice echoed in the space, but would go no further, containing the call of a machine who had lived for so many centuries, but had not had a single prayer answered. Sinking back into the throne she sat upon, the Grandmaster let out a soft sigh...And they wondered if the infant was alright.

Baby Teeth

Being a fresh factory model meant a lot of things. It meant having a barely prepared personality template. It meant skipping infanthood in the normal sense. She was not a Baby Trooper, born of the Nurseries, not raised to choose their own type. Her model had been decided for her before she was even produced. And now, it seemed her choice had been torn from her, as the young, nameless Aerial Trooper found herself flat on her back(assuming she wasn't placed upright in the process of arrival), having been asleep in her assigned quarters. It wouldn't be another week until she was to depart on the trans-verse project. But now, laying motionless, she realized something. She couldn't hear anyone. Tears, or the Rock Android version of them, welled up in her eyes, in fear. She couldn't hear her siblings, her people. No call to meals, no orders to perform maneuvers, not even the babbling of Baby Troopers as they were led around on tours. It scared her, which, the rest of the people would see as the black suited android sat up, hugging her knees to her chest, clearly on the verge of breaking down. It wasn't until she was addressed, or rather that the group was, that she paused, looking up towards the source of the voice. All other life was ignored, as she stared at the...angelic seeming being. Was this a Grandmaster model she'd never seen? Was this of the Mother World? Was this the Goddess incarnate, having decided to return now? But no...as she listened, fresh tears welled up again, as she realized that no, this wasn't the Divine Queen, the Divine Goddess. This was another world's...goddess, perhaps? Yes, that would make sense. Or at least, a machine specialized for bringing people together. She collected herself, and the nameless Rock Android slowly, weakly, raised a hand, her voice choked up with slight fear.

"E-Excuse me, but you said something disrupted existence? How l-long ago was this?" Could that event be why their Goddess had vanished? Was that why the Goddess had left them? Had she been taken from them? Questions shot through her mind. "Why can't I hear my people? Does this place...block out their minds? Please...its too quiet in my head..." Fear darted through the infant machine, as she stayed seated on the floor, clearly still nervous, frightened. A machine whose voice she couldn't hear, was speaking to her. There were possibly other lifeforms around. If only the Scientist and Engineer Troopers assigned to the project had finished upgrading her, she still lacked the defensive matrix they had been planning, the built in FtL drive for emergencies, even the more advanced scanning device. Still, she'd have to make do. But it was still scary. To have spent your entire life, all eighteenth months of it, with a countless array of voices in her head, from across the Diplomatic Branch, only to now be empty of any voices but her own? It was understandable why she was frightened. Unless there was just a lag in hooking up...they probably didn't have a relay node in this universe yet...Poor thing, she was shaking like a leaf, like a little kid, whose parents had just up and vanished, or worse, died in front of her.
Lovely, thanks. Means I'll probably do a side thing running into Jones' adoptive father, and talking with him about how things have been. Not reveal the whole from another world thing, he's gotta play the role of the aloof adventurer right.
@Lady Amalthea
Nifty, perhaps if I can get her CS done, my off site character, or one of her creations could pop up in one of your tales?

Also hope its fine, but I'm quite taken with your Sci-Fi sheet on the template thread of yours, and while I'd probably have to make some minor modifications for my personal use(since not from the Firefly universe or anything), I'm gonna use it. Because its so nice and clean looking, and I was bashing my head into a wall to come up with a good sheet that would work with the sheer amount of biographical data my gal has. I put a lot of work into her personality about a year back, when I updated it last(was gonna update the personality in a past update, but I was dead tired of writing and updates, so I left it for a future update), and other stuff, so its fun times.

Surprised more folks popped up here, but its nice. Always nice to discuss rp concepts and the like, heh.
