The third idea sounds a bit too dramatic. I vote for the second idea. We van easily mix some of idea 1 into it.
A very boring college day had luckily come to an end and Katherina was looking forward to the party at the Anderson Estate. She sat at the vanity table, lining her eyes with practiced precision, her lips slightly parted in concentration. As much as she wanted to look all seductive and well like her usual self she kept her make up subtle and soft. No dramatic eyes or dark lips. It would be too far a departure from the guise she´d created for herself, that of the slightly dumb but sweet foreign girl. The best actors knew the costume made the character and if Katherina hadn´t been making a living as a backstabbing witch she would have been an actress for sure. It was still her plan b if things didn´t pan out. The magic community in this place was a tricky one. Breaking free of any community wasn´t easy in fact it was very tedious, but not impossible. She had done it before leaving Bulgaria. Though she wasn´t planning on leaving America, not yet at least. There was no reason to. Tonight would be perfect to seize up the competition. She was a Petrov and no matter her residence she had a duty to represent her family.

"I still don't know why Dimitri's not taking you" "You know I hate these fancy pants parties"
Her brother Deyan complained struggling to tie his tie properly, his brows were furrowed in confusion. He'd given up trying to use the mirror to help him out, his vain sister was taking up all of the space, expertly pinning up her hair into a half up half down updo.
"Because...." Katherine mumbled opening a bobby pin with her teeth which she used to secure her bun.
"Unlike you I'm not in love with my....."significant other"
Deyan opened his mouth to reply but was quickly cut off by his witty sister, some things never changed.
"I know you've been living in fairytale land with your girlfriend" She couldn't keep the disdain from her voice at the word girlfriend, she didn't even use the name of the girl.
"But maintaining two love spells for years isn't easy"
"Mine is wearing thin and we had a slight argument." She said, her tone did not even hold a hint of regret. Katherine didn't seem bothered by it at all. It was like she knew it had been coming and she wouldn't be her proper self if she hadn't planned ahead.
She turned to him, half of her curls flowing fetchingly down her shoulders.
"It's not like I won't let you take Mia with you, she's just not going to be your date"
"I am."

Katherine rose from the vanity table holding the edge of her cobalt blue silk dress. She walked up to her brother to fix his tie, which was done in seconds as opposed to the minutes he spent of messing it up. The siblings were close, Deyan had always felt the need to protect his sister even though he kind of knew she didn't need it. Sometimes it was the other way around even. The way they looked out for each other was something that remained from their childhood in Bulgaria. Even now as they both lived in houses with at least four bedrooms they often found themselves in the same room. Partly because Katherine was always scheming and he wanted to be in on it and partly because well that was what they were used to. They had lived in a one bedroom apartment with the entire family. Yeah family...... they had left them all behind. Here in America she was pretty much the only family he had. He'd liked to think that fact made them dependent on each other but he knew better. Katherine would be fine on her own, she'd miss him probably but she could take care of herself. He couldn't say the same for himself. He was no witch and without his love struck rich girlfriend well you get the idea.

"You're not going to wear that look to the party are you?" Katherine said with a mischievous smirk referring to the worried frown he didn't know was showing.
"Don't worry Deyan, I got a plan" She gave her brother a knowing look.
"Yeah.....you always do" He said chuckling.
"Now let's get going, I want to be fashionably late, not late"

They Petrov siblings arrived at the Anderson estate in a sleek black car. Katherine pretended to be impressed by the lavish mansion and luxuriously furnished interior. She was all smiles and big eyed wonder. Deyan quickly made his way to the bar, downing a glass of champagne in seconds to ease his nerves. Katherina was standing by herself close enough to the bar to keep an eye on her brother. She looked contemplative, her deep brown eyes hiding endless secrets.
I'm sorry I haven't been active this last week. I'm planning to write a post tomorrow. As it stands this is a party Katherine simply can't miss
A very short post for me. I didn't really feel up to posting but I don't want to get behind! ^.^
Hopefully I'll get struck by some inspiration and awesomeness for my future posts.

A squeal of surprise escaped her as she felt a strong solid arm close around her waist, lifting her up effortlessly. The way in which Adam held her tickled and Mila could not hold back a fit of giggles. Especially as he was running towards the gate, the Rusalka was giggling like some fangirl of a teen pop star. She couldn't help it, the situation was anything but funny. As she glanced over her shoulders she saw the feet of the elven necromancer dangling on the other side. It was too much...... She broke down into hysterical laughter, quickly covering her mouth with her hands. Mila was aware that laughing like this would probably make her look like some sort of psycho. It was probably the excitement and the fear of fighting statues ten times her size. Laughing about it felt better than crying. Despite her long life and the hardships she'd faced, she liked to think she was a happy girl over all.

Adam must have misunderstood. The Golem was a curious "man" He acted like a human but Mila wondered if he had started out like one. None the less she could get used to being carried around. The bolted past the other employees of Bain & Hoyle. They were trying to make it to the gate too. Mila was glad they weren't taking their sweet time, she didn't want anyone to be left behind. If this quest was going to be as dangerous as Isis had told them, they would need everyone on board.

When they jumped for the portal Mila quickly closed her eyes. Hopefully there were no swinging weapons or huge statues on the other side.
"Please tell me when to look" She said having no idea if either Adam or the elven necromancer could hear her.
Such awesome posts you guys, they really light up my day! Especially in this gloomy weekend. I'll be posting tomorrow, don't want to get behind. Though I see I'm being carried Very nice!
Oh right scrap that then ^.^

Well those periodic meetings should be fun *wink*. If Katherine catches on to his "appreciative" eye things could get interesting.
Doctor Belasco said
Katherine Pierce, distrust. The family is fiercely insular and doesn't really embrace the wider community and he doesn't expect much more from her – he's keeping an eye on her. But, hey, she's hot!

Well the distrust is mutual XD. No but seriously Katherine doesn't trust anyone so don't feel bad, it's her not you. Your spot on on the Petrov family being insular. Though they usually try to get at least a general impression of the community so they know what they're dealing with. Which people can be used as a means to an end, that sort of thing. I don't really know how long Katherine has been going to college. That would affect her realtionship with Sebastian. A year or two compared to one or two weeks makes quite the difference. I think I want her to be fairly settled in. I'd say she's been going to college for little over a year. Katherine knows who he is, and quite possibly what he's doing in his spare team. It wouldn't be completely ridiculous if she "dreamed" about him. Her dreams are random like that and can give her equally random and confusing info. She might or might not know he's a witch. If she does it opens up a whole lot of possibilities. Another pawn for her scheming and plotting mind.
@Andastra, for my IC post, if that's not the direction you wanted to go for your next post let me know. I can edit easily.

Mila dodged another barrage of flying debris and stone, realizing she couldn't keep this up forever. Like many of of the others employees of Bain & Hoyle the Rusalka was also knocked off her feet by the shockwave of the Anubi. She had managed to douse most of the flames but it did not stop the flying rocks or the wave of energy ripping through the halls. The impact rivaled the one she'd experienced colliding the bookcase, the same numbing sensation coming from her back on which she landed. She struggled to get up, trying to catch her breath.

Leaning on a large piece of the fallen structures Mila spotted one of her team members, she was down on the ground, an improvised bandage on her leg. Mila doubted she could move very fast on her own and if their situation wasn't perilous enough Isis's warning made it even more so. Thousands scarabs crawled on the walls like a sea of shimmering turquoise. It made the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. If they reached them before they could make it to the other side beyond the Anubi they were done for. To die of a scarab was a horrible way to go. She had been told they would eat you from the inside out. While she wasn't afraid of death, on the contrary really she was ready for it. Being eaten wasn't her preferred way to go.

Before she went to help the elven necromancer, Mila made a crazy dive back into the fray to fetch her comb. Her most prized possession in a desert such as the ones in Egypt. Making a run for it she gracefully evaded a pair of scarabs flying at her.

She reached the elven necromancer and had to catch her breath before speaking. "Are...." "You alright?" She said with a serious look on her face. The Rusalka saw the stone man who had been afraid of flying march past them in a steady but slow pace. Maybe it would be best if he took the elf with him. His name was Adam, or so she remembered.

"Adam!" She called to him. "Can you take her with you? We're faster that way" The sooner they were through the gates the better.
