Jaarm listened to the Matron's explanation and the human settlement piqued his interest, but when he heard her warning about the place he decided not to go anywhere near there. As soon as it seemed she was done talking two of the others dashed off, seemingly excited. The small Goblin though stared at the unknown just outside of their nice safe cave a bit worriedly.

He knew he had to go there and hunt but he was scared that there could be a lot of dangers even the Matron didn't know about. He pondered this dilemma for a while when he got an idea, why hunt alone? After all two or more Goblins would be a lot stronger than just a single one, heck together they might even be the most dangerous thing in the world.

Jaarm turned back around to face his fellows and for the third time in his life began to talk. " Wat ..want to hunt togedder.... Want to hunt with me?" He asked still with some difficulty hoping at least one of them would agree to his plan.

Tao had been studying and following different animal tracks for hours now and frankly had gotten tired of it. Sure a guide must able to accurately identify an animal just by it's tracks but they all headed in the same direction; namely out of the burned down part. By sheer coincidence he came across tracks that ha had often seen back in the Fire Nation namely those belonging to a Mongoose Lizard. He hoped that animal's rider was aware of the dangerous condition of the forest, but that hope was quickly dashed when he heard the sounds of a Tiger Monkey attack.

He really hoped he was wrong about what was happening as he had no interest in playing hero, but he still ran toward the origin of the sound. Luckily for the blue skirted girl in danger, he already was close by. Unfortunately for him though he wouldn't be able to fight the carnivore off with just his dagger, so he had no choice but to bend if he wanted to save her.

With a quick punch of his left arm he shot of a weak fireball at the Tiger Monkey hoping to scare it off before it hurt the girl any further, but he only managed to make the animal angry. Now seeing Tao as a threat it ignored the girl and her Lizard and instead charged straight at him, the only reason he didn't end up with it's claws in his neck was because he barely managed to put his right arm in front of their intended target.
Matuna didn't even think to consider the way he was summoned to the Prince's chambers as rude. After all not only was Seadus clearly more powerful in at least one form of magic and thus worthy of his respect, as the owner of the Tower the Troll already believed him to be the leader of all the magic users assembled within. As such he returned the two books to the shelves where he found and headed back to his own room.

Matuna knew enough about human culture to know that entering someone's private chamber armed could be considered hostile so he placed his trusty sword on the rack meant for it and hurried along the route he seemed to know as clearly as if he had walked it daily for several years. He just hoped that because of his stop along the way the Prince wouldn't be too angered, he'd hate to have challenge his host to a duel before knowing enough to be relatively certain he could at least survive the fight.
Matuna would definitely have respect for The White Goblin's skill in Mysticism though he might not like his devotion to the Demons. They lost to the Gods because they were weaker and that was it, that doesn't mean that are many Trolls who would ignore what they believe to be a message from their creators, as they're are still far stronger than mortal mages and deserve respect if only for that.
Just so I understand if I've screwed up in my descriptions or not, did anyone else struggle with the same misconception?

I did
For Jaarm I'm either wanting something shadow-based or a creature that can turn invisible.
Like the deer man who had just left Matuna felt no need to interact with the human, but he also had no desire to unnecessary antagonize a potentially powerful Mage. After all there was a difference between enjoying a good fight from time to time and being a reckless idiot. So he answered his question. "No I wasn't, still got in anyway."

Hoping that he had gotten the conversation out of the way, he kept looking for another book. this time his goal was the simplest looking book written in the alphabet used by humans so that he could hopefully learn to read it with the help of the few letters he already knew and the book written in Troll.

After a while Matuna settled on the thinnest book he could find and took it to one of the desks. When he opened it, it turned out to be full of pictures with their names written under them. He figured it was probably there in case any of the guests invited or brought children at the age where they could start to read along, not realizing that by giving him access to the knowledge contained in the libraries, the Tower was preparing him for it's master's plans.
