For the sake of onlookers, she kept a worried-nervous look on her face but Lexi was actually thinking in a completely different manner. She was debating on what she could do to get out of this. She could kick the guy in the teeth and as long as she ducked when she did it, the gunfire wouldn’t hit her but that would leave the possibility of his hand dropping and shooting her in the foot; and that would suck. She could dodge to one side and punch the man square in the temple and knock him out, but Peter was pretty straight forward on; while you’re out of the costume and people were around, it was important to keep your physical actions to a minimum. This explained his ability to put up with the fact that he would get shoved into lockers and not fight back when he got beaten up. She finally understood and now she stopped questioning him; except the whole ‘save yourself before me’, that just wasn’t going to happen.

The words of not reacting in Lexi form as Catwoman, she began to count. 1… 2… 3… 4… 5… Lexi didn’t even make it to 6 before she heard the familiar wise cracking antics of her hero. As she felt the gun move from her head she jumped forward and turned around to let out a playful gasp of surprise seeing Spider-Man there; of course her surprise wasn’t that he was there but the fact that he was so quick. “Thank you Spider-Man, always looking out for us.” She waved him good bye as he sprang off with the man which was super cute. So he got her flowers and chocolates; funny because she got him something too.

Walking into the restaurant, she wiped her forehead and placed her hand against her heart, acting as though she was shocked and surprised about the situation that just happened when; as much as she wanted to be, she wasn’t. She knew she could rely on Peter and if he hadn’t been there she knew she could have taken care of herself, but as always, it was nice to know she was loved and looked out for. It was awkward walking through the restaurant considering she was stopped by both patrons and staff to ask her if she was okay. She went through about ten people before the restaurant seemed to be at the complete understanding that she was okay. While she appreciated the concern of the people, it was a little over-reactive since she was saved by Spider-Man and all.

She did find the booth with the floors and chocolates, only to grin a cheesy cheeky grin as she stood there; knowing full well that Peter couldn’t be far off, she could hear him coming back. At his arrival she turned to him and gave him a small nod before he called her beautiful and her cheek flushed a shade of pink as he kissed her and grew even more of a red as he gave her the flowers and box of chocolates. “Aw… you remembered.” She said in a cheeky teasing voice before leaning up and giving him a gentle kiss on the lips. Pulling back she gave him a bright smile and sniffed the flowers. “I knew my hero could never forget.” Once they sat down, she reached inside of her bag and pulled out a semi-small box.

“I got something for you as well.” Lexi’s voice was filled with playfulness and excitement as she handed him the box wrapped in blue with a red bow (charming no?). Inside the wrapped box sat the newest camera lens made for Peter’s make and model of his camera. Before he started to open it she stated a few things, “First this isn’t just from me, it’s from my parents too. They are very happy we’re together and my dad said something about telling you ‘thank you for keeping your promise.’” Of course Lexi had no idea what that meant but Peter would know that was about her father making him promise to look after her after the death-near death experience. “Secondly, you’re not allowed to ask for the receipt to return it. And Thirdly…” She reached her hand out and placed it onto one of his. “You have to use it on us first.” By that she meant that she wanted the first photo to be taken using that lens to be one of them together; but he’d figure that out when he opened the box. With that she leaned back and picked up her flowers smelling them softly as she watched him unwrap his present. Of course, she couldn’t hold the flowers to her nose for very long; not because she didn’t like them but because she could smell them just fine gently on the table next to her… and the disgusting cologne of the man three tables down from them. BLAH!
There was nothing better than enveloping her lips against Steve’s once again. This can’t be real! You’ve got to be kidding her! He was big and muscly but held her like he was holding a precious gem. He seemed incredibly shy around her and yet was able to talk and joke with her the more time he spent around her, and now they were interlocked in a kiss again. God if this was heaven, she’d be perfectly content.

The day was a pleasant rest of the one; she convinced Steve (which didn’t take much but an ask) for him to stay for dinner. He did, of course, run back to his apartment to grab the next in the Star Wars series to watch and they had a wonderful dinner of classic beef stew and corn on the cob while watching. Would you be surprised to hear that once their food was gone, they were cuddling up on the couch? No you wouldn’t. You probably wouldn’t be surprised to hear that she had pulled his second arm around her so she was settled inside of his arms, feeling more safe then she ever had been. The last thing that happened throughout the night was the kiss good bye at her door. Nah that probably didn’t surprise you either; and it wouldn’t surprise you to find out that she did a happy dance on the other side of the door after they said their good byes. Would it be weird to ask for his cell phone number because they live across the hall? Or would that make her look desperate? Maybe next time.
The following day was an odd one for her. She was technically going to work but she wasn’t actually going to the building. Today was the day that she needed to pick up a canister and return it to S.H.I.E.L.D. How hard could that be?

It was simple, the transaction went off without a hitch and Sharon was on her way back to headquarters. Half of her was curious on if anyone would recognize her in her street clothes with the glasses and high bun on top of her head. Sharon stopped at the courtyard out front of the building. Her blue gaze moved upwards, to her surprise she saw a figure she never thought she’d seen stepping into the glass elevator. That large muscular build and blue and red outfit couldn’t be missed even from her distance. The reflection of his shield gave her a sense of pride and accomplishment, not to mention excitement to think that he acknowledged her recently; yes that was still fresh on her mind.

As the iconic figure in the elevator turn she rose her hand to wave at him only to feel her wrist grabbed in a harsh manner. “What the…” Before she could do or say anymore, another hand rose up and covered her mouth with a piece of cloth. Sharon, being trained as she was, was about to fend off the attackers before once of them kneed her in the stomach, causing her to gasp which forced her to inhale the chloroform and her body began to shut down as her vision became blurry. Her hands fell limp and her body collapse.

“We got the bag, why don’t we leave her?”

“Leverage, bargaining; she might be important.”

“Fine throw her in the van.” Her ears seemed to shut off as her body was lifted into the air and thrown somewhere with a thump, light disappearing and soon she was laying in darkness before silence overtook her and she was out.
Her heart slammed against her chest as she hold out her hand to him to see if he’d step up to the challenge of attempting to kiss her once again or if that telemarketer call got him out of something he didn’t want to do in the first place. It was a boundary tester, did he want it or didn’t he. Her body shifted as a smile formed along her full lips when he took her hand. That was unexpected and exciting and… as you can imagine, highly welcomed.

Sliding herself into him they danced for a bit and she couldn’t seem to take her eyes off of him. This was the first she had openly stared at him but now she was grinning ear to ear like an excited child. This was awesome and it was really happening, wow! She spun gently underneath him, moving along to Helen gave her more encouragement as he dipped her once again. Could he hear her heart beat? Because she was rather sure she could hear it herself. Would that weird him out that she was so nervous; at least she wasn’t shaking. That would be even more embarrassing. “Not bad, not bad at all. Practice makes perfect and I’d be more than willing to teach you.” She said with a playfully not wanting to give him too much of an ego boost.

When his lips pressed softly against hers, her heart melted; he held her much like someone would a delicate flower, not wanting her to fall but not wanting to squeeze her until her eyeballs popped out of her head. It was hard to believe someone of his size could be so delicate, this in itself was a wonderful sight; and feeling! As he pulled back her eyes slowly flickered open, one hand was free, by her side as he dipped her while the other held onto his other hand. Her hand rose up, gently and slowly traveling along his chest up to his neck and to the back of his head. Careful not to mess up his hair, she stared into his blue eyes and pulled him back down, planting her lips against his once more.
“Voilet.” He repeated, registering it to his data bank memory, for the vast amount of information floating around in the young man’s head but right now it was important that he remembered the girl’s name. “Just the Doctor, easier for people to remember that way.” He said with a cheeky grin. His name on his home planet was long and complicated so he found that his title. Especially when humans didn’t quite have the capacity to understand that there were things outside of the little planet.

“It’s okay, I function the same way. Especially when you have so many thoughts going through your head at a single time, it just becomes a big jumbled up mess than you began blabbering about something unimportant until something that is considered important jumps out and finds its way into your mouth. Do you smell chips?” He asked barely taking a breath to do so sniffing the air slightly as his blue eyes scanned the surrounding area before looking back at her. “How long have you known your friend? What’s he like? Does he smell funny? Does he have an odd shaped nose? Does he have a catch phrase that he’s really never explained the meaning behind?” At this time his mouth stopped moving and he locked his hands behind him leaning slightly to her, giving her all of his attention and awaiting her answer… well answers, to his many questions.
Sharon’s toe traced along the carpet when he said that they never seem to call when he’s not doing something important. So she was considered important in his eyes, her cheeks flushed a pink color once again before her moved her blue gaze from her feet up to his face. God he was a good looking man, even when he seemed rather embarrassed; which wasn’t something Sharon could figure out. Why would someone like him need to be embarrassed or shy? Most women must throw themselves at him like he was a dog and they were his treats. But sometimes he couldn’t form full sentences and it was adorable.

She nodded a bit as he talked, watching him walk back into the apartment and she giggled softly when he said that someone’s breakfast spilt all over him. “I’m sorry the music distracted you from paperwork but remember, life isn’t all about work.” She said with a vast amount of encouragement, not only was she speaking to Steve but she was also speaking to herself. “Your dancing…” She said, dragging out the statement in a questioning tone before taking a step forward and extended her hand to him again. “I think you need to work on your spin and dip. I think you got cut off because of the phone. Am I right?” Her cheeks stayed a small shade of pink as she held her hand out to him, blue eyes twinkling. Was that a bit too forward? Would he turn around and walk out or… was that okay?
Something about hearing that he had her made her heart jump; she believed it. For the first time in a long time, she put her faith in someone other than Captain America to ‘get her’ (in the manner of keeping her safe). This was a rarity and if anyone knew that, in her brain, she was comparing them to Captain America, they might get a little pig-headed; so it just seemed safe for her to keep that opinion to herself.

Everything seemed to be going well, he was learning how to dance a basic dance and now she was spinning under his strong arm before he placed his hand on her back and slowly dipped her. Her heart skipped a beat as she stared up at the clean cut man leaning over her. Her bottom lip rolled under slightly as she looked up at him, her heart started to pound in her chest as he lowered himself down to her. Her lips puckered slightly ready to receive the kiss, her blue eyes closing as she awaited the gentle feeling of his lips against hers… only to have the relaxed, peaceful, tender and almost romantic moment by a loud alarm going off. When Steve jumped so did she, luckily he had a good enough grip on her that he didn’t drop her.

When he said that it might be work, she gave him a small nod; understanding all too well about how work can call you at any moment and pull you away from things, no matter what you’re doing. “It’s okay,” She said softly as he helped her stand up and pulled out her phone, “My work’s the same way, I can relate.” When he said to hold that thought, her bottom lip curled under as she bit down on it slightly, her cheeks turning a soft pink before she was able to get out the word “Okay.” As he shut the door behind him.

Her hands ran across the top of her head to the pulled back bun before letting out a long breath she had been holding for a bit. Wow that almost happened… would he have actually kissed her? Would their lips have actually touched?! Could it have actually happened?! Her body shivered at the thought of something like that happening, it seemed almost too good to be true! Too bad something had to interrupt it. Her body slid against the back of the couch, hands placing gently on the top of the couch as she waited softly for him.

As Steve walked back into the apartment the song changed to I Wanna Be Loved by You by Helen Kane from the 1920s and her heart nearly skilled a beat as he walked in. If she had planned this it would have been perfect but since it wasn’t plan what does that make this? Perfection without trying maybe? “Oh it happens, I’m not sure how they get cell numbers but I get those phone calls every once and a while… they always seem to come at the wrong times…” The last part of her sentence was rather sheepish, as if she was shy about the fact that something was about to happen. But the twinkle in her blue eyes as she shot her gaze back up to him screamed she would have really enjoyed it, if the biting of her bottom lip wasn’t enough of a clue.

“How was your day today? I told you about mine, tell me about yours.” She asked softly, not wanting to pull him back into dancing again if he didn’t want to, her bare foot traced along the carpet under her feet; she wanted to dance more with him, she wanted to get dipped and possibly kissed but… how exactly do you go back to that?
Lexi’s cheeks flushed red at his complement and she bit her lower lip as she looked up at him. He was so sweet in and out of his cheesiness. Why did it take so long for her to realize that the one she truly wanted was sitting in front of her her whole life? Why did she question whether she should be with Peter or not? Spider-Man or not, Peter was the one she wanted to be with and let’s face it; Spider-Man was an awesome bonus. It wasn’t long before the two of them crashed on the couch laying wrapped into each other, somehow fitting on the width of the couch together. The perfect fit of two bodies; it must be love.
To say the least, Aunt May had to get used to Lexi and Peter being hand and hand, arm and arm and interlocked with each other on her couch or in Peter’s room. It did take a while but she, like Lexi’s parents, came to accept the fact that the two were together and desired being close to one another.

In the world of Spider-Man and Catwoman, nothing too chaotic happened. Robberies and vandalisms, muggings and car break ins but nothing that could relate to the fear gas experience. Catwoman began to get more confident in her motions and everything when it came to being a ‘hero’ (a term she used lightly because she didn’t think of herself even close to as good as Spider-Man) but she wasn’t letting it go to her head. Nor was she getting arrogant, a bit sarcastic yes but not arrogant.

It had been a couple months since Peter and Lexi had started dating and the school seemed to still be unsure of how to react to the couple but they didn’t seem to care. She would openly kiss Peter in public and even at school before they would part way for classes. As far as she was concerned, their opinions didn’t matter at all. Sure she got some questions from people but she didn’t care. Her answer was simple, ‘I love him, why wouldn’t I be with some I love?’ No one had an answer for her that was negative so their argument was invalid.

It was no surprise as they hit their three month mark that Peter had asked her to meet him somewhere for dinner, just the two of them. Lexi finally got a new car, a little white bug and she, much like Peter, started carrying a backpack around; three guesses why. Pulling up to a restaurant she was a little surprised to see where he had chosen, “Okay.” She said with a small laugh. Just like Peter to choose a little burger joint decorated like a fifties diner. Classic cheesy beloved boyfriend; her grin across her face said she loved the idea as she unbuckled herself from the vehicle and turned off the car. Climbing out she shut the door behind her only to hear a clicking noise as she locked the car, that sounded like…

“Don’t turn around.” A voice said, muffled by a ski mask.

Lexi stayed put, knowing that was the best thing to do since she could hear the gun in the man’s hand. Really? Mugged right outside of the diner where she’s going to meet her boyfriend for dinner. Sure she could turn around and kick the guy in the face but with a gun that didn’t seem like the best idea.

“Hand over your wallet.” The muffled voice demanded. Great, this is exactly how she wanted her evening to end. Stupid mugger didn’t know who he was dealing with, especially if her boyfriend beats her to the punch… literally.
You’d think he was a little guy with his ability to move so well. Most people had to be on the less-muscular side of things in order to dance as smoothly as Steve did. Huh, very interesting. A smile crawled across her lips as she watched his feet. Soon he seemed to get the steps and everything was going smoothly until she looked up to steal another glance at the gorgeous man and he caught her. Silence between them, only the music echoing around the room as they stared at each other…

That was until a quick pain shot up from her foot, “Whoa!” She said quickly as he stepped on her foot. Luckily for she pulled back rather quickly and he wasn’t stepping hard to begin with. Thank goodness because that could have hurt but, then again, she’s had worse dropped on her toes. Working at S.H.I.E.L.D. means she’s had a lot of people drop things on her, so someone stepping on her toes was not a big deal but she did jump slightly in surprise. “It’s okay Steve really.” She said in a reassuring manner as she teasingly shook out her foot, an overly dramatic look of ‘pain’ on her face before she shot him a cheesy grin and they went back to dancing.

“See you’re getting the hang of it.” She said playfully to him, “Do you want to try a spin and dip? Just hold your hands up and I’ll turn under it than you place your hand and forearm on my back and hold my hand with your other hand and bend my back. Just… don’t drop me, which might hurt.” She said half joking, knowing that if he were to drop her she’d probably hit the floor with a good thud and have a headache. Hopefully he wouldn’t drop her… and hopefully, he’d find something else to do staring into her eyes… maybe, a kiss?
As Peter asked if she thought his jokes were cheesy in his playful offended tone she rolled her sapphire eyes at him in a joking manner as a response. Before she could comment, his lips were pressed against hers and her heart nearly jumped out of her chest when he did that. There was no doubt that the horrible movie was no longer the focus of the night; they needed to relax and to know each other was well, can you think of a better way to do that then this?

“I find everything about you attractive Peter…” She said softly as her other hand traced a heart on his shirt covered chest. “Expect the fact that you keep bringing up your ex, the mop.” Her response was completely playful and entirely joking about the mop but there was nothing that she could think of that she would change about Peter. Even his lack of confidence was attractive, even though she truly felt that he didn’t need to lack confidence but that’s something he had to overcome on his own. All she could do was be supportive and that’s what she tried to do. Leaning forward, she rested her forehead against his. “Besides your mop can’t purr, I can!” She said teasingly as she brushed her lips against his. God she loved this man!
A large man his size could either be a really good dancer or have two very left feet. She’s seen it both ways back in high school dance class here she was required to dance with the boys. Which was difficult considering she was always the odd ball out but she had to give it to some of the guys she went to school with; those guys really could dance. Then there was her. For the longest time she had two left feet until she figured out that she could ballroom dance rather easily with the man guiding her. Don’t ask how this happened… but she happens to know that Tony Stark actually knows how to ballroom dance and as much as she didn’t want to admit it; she was kind of impressed.

Her full lips parted letting out a small laugh before curling into a delicate and welcoming smile. “I’ll show you how.” She said softly as she took his large hand in her small one and stepped forward. “And if you’re worried about stepping on my toes than I’ll just have to stand on your feet!” She said with a bright smile up to him. Sliding her free hand gently down his arm she took his other hand and placed it gently on her waist before she rested her hand on his shoulder, her other hand gently holding his. “We’ll start with the basic box step. It’s simple I promise.” Her bright smile and inviting nature made her words hold a sense of truth.

“Trust me, you’ll do great.” Sharon’s voice was encouraging, she believed he could do it because something about him told her that if he really wanted to do something; all he’d have to do is put his mind to it. “So, what you’re going to do is take a step forward with your right foot, then bring your left foot to it. Then step to the left and slide your right foot to meet with your left. Then step back with your left and bring your right foot back, then step to your right and bring your left foot to your right one.” A smile moved across her full lips as she turned her blue gaze from their feet to meet his eyes. Her breathe was a little taken away, even on the boat they weren’t this close and on the couch they weren’t facing each other and here, barely inches separated them and her whole body seemed to want to melt against his. God where we cheeks turning red AGAIN!? Stranger’s in the Night, exchanging glances. Wondering in the Night, what where the chances? We’d be sharing love, before the night was through…. Something in your eyes, was so inviting, something in your smile, was so exciting. Something in my heart, told me I must have you… Frank Sinatra, you’re not helping her keep from blushing at this moment. Fight it Sharon, fight it! Don’t blush he’ll think he’s done something wrong and he hasn’t don’t blush don’t blush don’t blush!
