The fact that he took the dare surprised her. But he had a good sense of humor about it and she couldn’t help but laugh when he started up there. He was a good sport and she’s couldn’t imagine him actually following through with the dare. She nodded. “Yep that song.” A grin moved across her full lips as she played with the straw between her teeth and her tongue. She watched him walk towards the stage and found her head moving with his movements. This isn’t right, she shouldn’t be thinking like this! She needed food and something other than alcohol in her system.

As he sang she laughed and clapped along with the group. The people in the bar drunk and sober seemed to enjoy his singing and goofiness with the whole song and she was no different. She couldn’t help but enjoy herself. Why… why did she come here again?

“I’m impressed.” She said with a laugh as he sat back down with a smile on her lips as the waiter dropped off their food. She picked up her fork and began to cut into her steak. “I think since I’m eating now and I don’t want to deal with possible drinking something horrible I’ll take a truth.”
He was always such a gentleman about things, it was a wonderful change from the Jersey boys she had been dealing with so for so long! Everything she was used to when it comes to treatment from men was thrown out the window when she began to be around Steve, even before she figured out that he was the infamous Captain America and the Steve Rogers she had been day dreaming about her whole life. What was the chance of this happening?! Apparently it was a lot higher than she had originally thought.

Upon his entrance inside, she shut the door behind him and made sure to latch it shut. The last thing she wanted to do was to interrupt the moment she could enjoy with Steve. His hands touching her shirt covered shoulders made her shiver slightly before she let out a long soft sigh of relaxation. “Maybe…” She said softly as he worked on her shoulders, “Maybe we should put the heating pad on your back and I’ll work on you when you are done with me.” Reaching up she took his hand off of her shoulder and gave it a gentle kiss before leading him over to the fridge and pointed to the cabinet above it that was open. The heating pad was wrapped up in its cord and seeable but obviously out of her reach.

Once he reached for it, she took it in one hand and the other in her hand she took his hand. Leading him to the couch she unrolled the pad and sat it against the couch. She then had him sit down with it against his back and shoulders with a smile. With that she sat in front of him on the floor and pulled her blonde hair up into a bun; “When you’re done just let me know.”
Marian’s blue gaze turned to see the direction he was nodding and she shrugged her small shoulders. Getting off the chair she grabbed her small purse and made a jester. “Let’s go sit then. You owe me food for sure.” She said with a playful smile on her full lips and led the way to the table. Her smile was buzzing with a mix of alcohol and what she wanted him to do for a dare. Now what… what was she doing here again?

The reason that she had shown up at the restaurant had slipped her mind as she slid herself into the small barely lit booth and picked up a menu. “Hm…” She said, looking over the food options and pondering what she should dare him to do.

“And now we begin karaoke.” An announcer said from the small stage and the crowd cheered with excitement as some people began to sign up for playing.

Her attention moved from the menu to the stage and a smirk moved across her face as she placed her purse down next to her and slid herself from the seat. “I’ll be right back.” With that she left going to the small table and filling out a slip as the first singer was called to the stage. After a few moments she returned. Picking up the menu she began to skim over it. “I dare you to sing the karaoke song I just picked out for you.” It took a bit and the two created some small talk, Marian dodging his questions about what song she picked and placing her order with the waiter for a steak, red potatoes and roasted carrots along with a soda; knowing full well that she has had enough to drink and should stop for the night.

“Next we have Robert singing ‘Man I feel like a woman’. Come on up Robert.” The announcer said.

Marian’s gaze moved to Robert with a smirk. “That’s you, do you accept the dare?” Her full lips wrapped around the red straw as she took in some much needed soda. Would he really sing the classic Shania Twain song Man I feel like a woman?
It was a strange feeling to look someone in the eyes, someone like Peter Quill. She felt her knees go weak even though she was sitting and her heart kept skipping beats as he looked at her. The smile from him melted her very soul and she felt like she became putty in his hands. Her head tilted into his hand, unexpected for her but she was very much enjoying it. His hands were rough from the life he lived but all of his actions shoed a sense of kindness and tenderness to them.

“Then I shall stay until my debt is repaid.” She said with a smile answering him that she wouldn’t leave the room, or his ship until he wanted her to go. Maybe it wasn’t the best idea but she found a few friends on the ship, plus a creature she valued within her culture that was, for some reason, hitting on her. She could overlook that for the sake of the respect she felt he deserved but at the same time, it was a little odd.

“Seeing as the captain has forbid me to walk tonight, I suppose I should either be carried to my room or I should stay here.” A grin moved across her face again, “But understand this Star-Lord.” She said softly. “Just because you can say what happens on the ship, I control what happens to me.” She placed her forehead gently against his. “Basically, no funny business.” Yeah, she was agreeing to stay but she was stating that he wouldn’t be able to use his ‘powers of captaining’ to get things from her, physical things.
Sharon was very thankful to have Natasha leave. Maybe she’d just leave her and Steve alone so she and Steve could get to know each other better. They got along very well and can hold good conversations. Even though there’s a dramatic difference in time frame of them but she loved to teach him about the new ways of the world while he reminded her that old fashioned ways are almost always the best. He was such a gentleman and something she didn’t expect that she was all the more happy to spend time with him. It was surely better than dealing with the guys from New Jersey and Tony Stark. Really, does more need to be said?

The knock on her door made her body jump a little bit as she had been walking through her living room at the time. Attention turning to the noise she looked at her door and awaited a call out of which person it was. Her fear was it would be Director Fury wanting to know why her and Steve were all dressed up and walking around together. Or that she could have to deal with Tony wanting to hit on her and ask her questions about, whatever crossed his mind since he was horrible at thinking about things before talking. Or it could be Natasha wanting more details about the night. Any of the options were not what she wanted to have happen.

That was until she heard Steve’s voice on the other end the door. A smile moved across her full lips flashing her pearly white teeth. She walked casual in her bare-foot manner to the door and pulled it open. Taking him in in such casual clothing, she had to take a moment to regain her words before she could respond. “It’s just a small back ache Mister Rogers. But if you could help me, I can’t seem to reach my heating pack. If you have a moment, could you come in and grab it for me?” With that she stepped aside, allowing him to come in; the shows they have to put on in case of cameras were rather foolish but hey, it works right?
Marian watched him wonder off into the crowd, her head tilting to one side as he walked away. HEY HEY HEY! She lectured herself as she broke her gaze away from him in a quick manner, drinking down her martini glass in haste; Don’t be thinking like that about Locksley, it must be… no it has to be the alcohol. Her conclusion seemed valid enough and she nodded to herself as the bartender asked her if she wanted another drink. She nodded to him with a small smile and a little mutter of ‘thank you’ before he went off to make her another martini.

Upon Robert’s return she was far from pleased to hear the concoction he had made for her. Oh did he get the evil-glare-of-doom from her. Her sparkling blue eyes went from the disgusting looking liquid to Robert’s grinning face and back to the liquid. Ugh…Her face cringed slightly as she looked at it, obviously she wasn’t sure if she could do it or not but, traditionally she didn’t like the idea of getting things for free; but he’d owe her BIG TIME for doing something as gross as this.

Taking the glass from him, she swallowed hard. “God you’re mean…” She said in a playful tone under her breathe. Putting the glass against her full lips, she gently tilted it upward and took a sip, a decent size sip so Robert couldn’t complain that she didn’t take enough. The look on her face was classic, wide eyed with puffy cheeks and red-faced in disgust. She held it for a moment in a sad attempt to get used to the taste before swallowing it down.

Once it was down she coughed hard smacking her chest and reaching for her newly created martini chugging a good portion of it down. Putting down the now half empty glass she turned her gaze to him. “You are going to have quite a tab on your hands. You owe me some real food after that. That was…” Her whole body shook in dislike. “Blah! Oh you so owe me food! I don’t want to taste that in my throat or stomach all night!” Turning to the bartender she flagged him over and asked for a menu.

“Sorry miss, we don’t serve the meals here at the bar.” He said with a frown upon his face.

“Oh…” Marian said with a fair amount of disappointment in her voice. Her hand went to her stomach. Great now she had to deal with knowing that if she burped at all throughout the night she could taste that god-awful concoction again. “Oh well you learn something new every day.” She said with a small shrug before turning her attention back to, “Truth or Dare?”
His arms finally wrapped around her and she let out a small sigh of happiness. He was at least relaxing for the time being. Hopefully nothing goes to set him off like Rocket bursting in and saying some random things or attempting to flirt with her. That wasn’t something that they needed to deal with at the moment, though Peter might really not care all too much but it would make Nikki feel a bit uncomfortable. Smiling softly, it felt good to know there wasn’t complete anger there.

The question he asked was a hard one for her to answer. Simply because she didn’t want to; he was already angry enough. She tightened her grip slightly around his neck as she rubbed his back softly. “I’m alive, that’s all that matters Quill.” She said softly, her lips reached forward and gently kissed his neck much like he had done to her when changing her bandage. One kiss, then another and finally a third, “I’m alright, just a headache.” And a few cuts, bruises and quite a bit more aches and pains then before. But she was alive. “I’m alive, you’re alive; we’re all alive. That’s all that matters.” She said softly before resting her head back on his shoulder. “If you want, I’ll leave.”
Sharon followed his lead flawlessly. Taking each step one at a time and acting beyond the point of casual. He was rather determined to win this romantic date and either she was getting a back rub or he was. Either way she was okay with this. Rising to her feet with a simple shrug she picked up her small purse and put it over her shoulder as if ready to leave. The interaction between Steve and the waitress was humorous but knowing full well she’d give it away, she held back her expression with a rather plain one.

It wasn’t until Natasha grabbed the card from Steve’s hand that she grinned the grin she had been holding back for a while. Her full red lips spreading across her face showing her straight white teeth. When he began to lecture their friend about how he was happy where he was and mentioned that she could feel the same way, she nodded as the spy looked in her direction and gave a little shrug saying ‘well it’s true’. Upon the time to exit, Sharon slipped her arm into Steve’s and they started out the door. When he called back to their friend explaining that he owed her a romantic night on the town, she waved good bye without turning around. Natasha would most likely leave them alone and they could enjoy some time together. And dressed up!

Steve promised a romantic night on the town and boy, did he deliver! He took them by New York taxi cab to an old fashion but charming restaurant lit with candles and a large glass chandelier. A piano player’s expert fingers played the music that filled the small but cozy restaurant. The couple took a corner booth cuddling until their food arrived and talking. Though she’d need in a kiss every now and then but could you blame her? No, no you couldn’t.

The food was amazing but the rest of the night was on foot with a walk through lovely central park. The sun was going down as the two made it into the center of the park and sat down on a bench to watch the sun drop in central park. The peaceful and very romantic night ended with them returning to Stark’s tower, no matter how much she didn’t want to go inside, she knew they had to. She went in first, as to not cause too much talk of them arm and arm and she took the elevator with her red shoes in her hand. Her body leaned against the elevator walls as she felt light as air with the whole night.

Getting into her room was easy but as she should have guessed, Natasha had snuck into her room past Tony’s security and was lounging on her love seat. “So, how was the night?”

“It was wonderful.” Sharon said, not shy about using the word.

    “Are you two something serious?”

“At this point we’re just going with the flow Natasha and we don’t need couching for it. If something happens than it happens.”

Natasha, not being one the one for not having all the information got to her feet as the blonde stripped out of the dress and handed it to her friend. “Did you guys kiss?”

“That’s for me to know and you to find out if you do.” Sharon responded heading into her room and pulling on an oversized shirt and a pair of black pajama bottoms.

“Does he know who you’re related to?”

“Yes, that topic has come up on more than one occasion and while we don’t talk about it, we both know it’s there but… what can we do about it? Nothing. My aunt that we both loved is gone and we must continue forward. That’s what she would want.”

    “Continue together as a couple.”

“Natasha we’re just seeing how this goes, please don’t try to force anything or if anything was possible it could be ruined by it. Just let us work things at our own place. Thank you for opening the door but, we can take it from here.”

Natasha stared at her for a moment before a small understanding smile moved across the redhead’s lips. “Fair enough, I’m glad you had a good time. Good night.” With that Natasha left Sharon’s room shutting the door and the blonde let out a long side, her hand moving to her shoulders and her shoulder blades a small push, as much as she adored Black Widow, she was a pain to deal with at times.
Peter seemed to have a bit of an attention problem. Sometimes when she would talk to him, she’d have to repeat things she said more than once to him and sometimes he’d ask her if she said something when she hadn’t spoken to him at all. It was a weird mixed feeling of him asking if he had her attention to , she didn’t give him enough attention. Though Lexi knew better than to think too much on it, it was a bit of a weird feeling.

The day went by rather slowly and she couldn’t help but notice that Peter was paying more attention to the people around them and some of people who would give them weird looks for being together. Why would is suddenly matter to him? Was he getting defensive over her? It was cute to think that he’d be willing to stand up for her and say ‘Hey man that girl’s with me, get over it’ but if he went to the point of causing physical damage to someone because they looked at them funny she wouldn’t be too happy about that. Could you blame her though? He had super-human strength which would have put him at a clear and unfair advantage and shouldn’t be using his powers for such things. They were happy and everyone else just had to deal with it.

It was time to go out on the evening patrol and Lexi flung her way to the building she typically met Peter on. She was stretching out her body in the suite before she heard her name being called and turned around. “Whoa!” She said in surprise, “I thought I was going to be the only one in black. Geeze if you wanted matching uniforms you should have just said so.” She said in a teasing voice as she placed her hands on her hips looking him up and down from behind her mask but indicated with a nod of her head up and down. “It looks good. I can’t believe you made that half a sleep and out of a wet suit, I’m impressed.” She gave him a smile as she lowered the flap over her full lips and stepped backwards, she always had fun making Peter chase her around the city as they looked and listened for anyone who would be in need of their assistance.

“Shall we start the night? See how this new suit treats you?” It was time for the chase.
The mounted guns were nice but it was nothing compared to the imagine of a large man laughing in excitement as he shot things with the plasma cannon strapped to his chest. As Drax fired shots with a mix of creepy and excited laughter off of one side of the ship, Rocket and Nikki took the other side. “Sir Rocket, let’s take out their engines.”

“You got it toots!” Rocket said with excitement as he began to fire. His excitement made Nikki laugh in the microphone and the two began to fire at some of the rising ships. She wasn’t going to deal with the incoming warriors who were mad about the escape of their prisoner, the destruction of their castle and the heading pounding problem their emperor was now dealing with. Mainly the headache after smacking head first into his son.

Quill’s call was sad and Nikki felt her heart drop into her stomach. It was painful to hear someone talk like that but at the same time, she could relate to a degree. The poor guy. He just wanted some form of peace and balance in his life. While she grew up with her family before they were killed, it seemed like he didn’t have much of a family at all. Soon they left the atmosphere and the feeling on the ship was intense and sad. So much had happened in a small amount of time and poor Quill was worse for the wear with the situation at hand.

Nikki sat up in the gun pod for a bit, debating on what should happen, her head hurt, her body hurt but at the same time, she wanted to help Quill. He had a lot on his mind… Rising from her seat, she climbed down the ladder and went down the hallway. It didn’t take long before she heard the crashing of a chair from the direction she recognized as Quill’s room.

Walking to the door she leaned against it, listening to the silence within. She knew he was in there, but she wasn’t sure if he wanted company or not. Well he wasn’t going to get much of a choice at this point. Nikki gently turned the handle and stepped inside. Shutting the door behind her, she leaned against it watching him for a moment before walking over. In a gentle manner, she took his hand and lead him to the bed, climbing on it she pulled him gently onto the bed making him sit down, Sitting next to him, she wrapped her arms around his neck and embraced him in a hug, holding him and gently rubbing his back with her hands; her head against his shoulder breathing gently on his neck. Sometimes, you just need a hug.
