At this point in time, Marian wasn’t exactly sure which one was more uncomfortable for Guy, the fact that she was asking for Robert, or the fact that the relationship between the two had moved from calling him by his last name to his first. Even for those in their building, the fact that was using Robert’s first name instead of calling him Locksley would have been a shocker. But… after what she had seen the day before, she had a new found respect for this new Robert Locksley.

She led him back to her office and shut the door behind them. After all this time, she could still feel the prying eyes of their coworkers. Of course nothing about this made Marian look good; one day she would be chatting up Guy, and another she would be luring Robert into her office. Maybe she was being a bit too obvious. But for those who watched close enough, they might just notice that Marian had stopped putting noticeable distance between her and Robert, while Guy was traditionally kept at an arm’s length distance. Interesting, very interesting.

“So, I get a phone call from my dad this morning, ‘Marian, you need to attend the press party for the Governor this Friday.’” Her voice was nearly spot on mimicking her father in all of his seriousness. “And apparently I’m not allowed to attend alone. So… I was… hoping…”Great! Now she couldn’t even look him in the eye as she asked. Why was this suddenly a problem?! Why was she suddenly shy around him?! This was ridiculous. “You might, want to… go with me?” She forced her blue gaze to look up at him for the first time since her million dollar question was asked.
While his expression didn’t change, he was internally shocked. Out of any angel he could have pulled from the crowd, he grabbed the person training in his opposite position. This is ironic. The more they danced, the more the male angels seemed to get uncomfortable and mad. No wonder, someone this important shouldn’t exactly get close to a demon; especially someone who was training to be their counterpart. Technically, technically they would be working together one certain things when it comes to the deals of earth; but what angel would want their little princess angel to hang out with a demon.

“Now that is interesting…” Loki said with a smile as they danced, being the only ones on the dance floor they looked like the prince and princess despite the groups’ shared dislike for one another. Maybe Romeo and Juliet would be a better example; except they’re already dead. “That would explain why the male angels might jump me outside before I leave. Someone like you shouldn’t be converting with a demon in such a casual manner.” He said with a nod; however his eyes twinkled with playfulness as he spun her once again. This time he pulled her close and gracefully dropped her into a dip.

“You and I are opposites in training. I am training to become the one of the arc-demons.; which means we will be working together from time to time.” Leaning down, he brought his face very close to hers, his ember eyes twinkling with joy, “I never thought my position could be fun until now.” He held her there for a moment longer before pulling her back upright and continuing on with the dance. “We should keep in touch after this; business would be easier if we could be reached via letters.” If there’s one thing that Loki kept from his time as a human it was his playful flirtatiousness.

    Flashback –

Times were joyful and fun when they were together. Lots of times it would be Lewis driving them off into some random place and they would just hang out, have a picnic or get lost in the woods for a few hours. On more than one occasion, Lewis would pop off with some form of flirty comment and catch Sky by surprise.

“One day Sky, you’re going to love me.” He said with a grin on his face as they walked down a steep path together, Lewis taking the front and finding the placements for their feet.

“Yeah yeah.” Sky replied with a laugh as they continued on their walks. That was until her foot caught on a branch and she tumbled forward.

“Whoa!” Lewis called out as he suddenly felt a body tumble on him. He lost his footing also and fell forward causing the two to tumble down the steep slope. In the fall he reached out, pulling Sky to him and pressing her face against his chest in a protective manner.

By the time they hit the bottom of the slope, Lewis was on his back holding tightly onto Sky. After regaining his breathe he looked up at her, “You really are a klutz; you know that right?” He said with a cheeky grin as he rolled over, pinning her under him. He brought his face close to hers, leaving no more than an inch between their lips. “It’s always an adventure with you; I never thought a walk could be fun until now.” He held his face there for a moment longer just grinning down at her before pulling himself off of her and offering her his large hand.

“Don’t worry about the women, they’ll leave you alone. They know better than to pick a fight in front of the higher ups.” Loki said reassuringly as they danced.
His assumption that everything was okay surprised the group, even Annabelle’s head jerked back slightly in surprise. Wow he was forward wasn’t he? Her gaze turned back to Savile questioning his reaction to Cerith’s bold statement. Savile was never one to like overly dominate personalities and this newcomer she had brought by seemed like someone who wasn’t afraid to put a foot forward. And that, in itself, was something that Annabelle actually admired.

When the walls dropped and they were free to go, Annabelle beamed, “Thank you Savile!” Her voice was a bit too excited which caused the ‘leader’ to roll his eyes and Kealsey seemed to match the look before disappearing to the campsite. A long sigh of relief left her as she ran her hand through her blond hair and turned her innocent green gaze to Cerith, a gentle smile moved across her face, “Well that went better than I expected.”

“I agree,” the peppy young man responded next to them as he stepped forward. “Come on, let’s go. I’m starving!”

A nod rose and fell Annabelle’s head as she patted the page next to her hip. “And I got some good food for tonight. Tonight we toast to a fellow wizard who is safe and sound.” She gave both the boys a wide grin before they continued towards the campsite.

The site was simple; no tents, just blankets, a roaring fire with a make-shift grill over it made from earth and a few other campsite needs. The blonde hurried over to the small table that was made and began to pull things from the nearly endless bag. Soon she had vegetables, meats and other assortments sitting out. “Okay…” She said with a grin as she rolled up her invisible sleeves. “How do you like your steak cooked Cerith?” She called out to him as she began to season the meat.
The embarrassment was great and the young man kept looking back at his phone, wondering if she would ever respond back or if he had just made a fool out of himself. He honestly probably did make a fool out of himself but she seemed to find it funny as the message seemed to gently poke fun at him. A long sigh left him after he read the text and he finished getting ready before responding, no wanting to see too eager –

I’ll do my best. We’ll discuss the details at school, see you there friend. Send.

Writing the word ‘friend’ at the end of his text message was still incredibly foreign to him. Having someone to text outside of his family was still foreign to him but he was incredibly happy.

The school day went well, thank god it was Friday. Now he had something to look forward to on the weekend. The day came to an end quickly as he shared in the delight of having someone to talk to and eat lunch with. They laughed and chatted and discussed many different things. It was so nice to have someone to talk to and laugh with. School finally became more than just about education for him. It meant socializing and this, this was a new experience he had never seen had before.

Saturday afternoon rolled around and Kenton had spent most of the morning preparing the living room of their house into a dark frightful room with blankets, pillows, drawn closed blinds and popcorn, soda and the surround sound on. Mom was away at a business conference and dad didn’t care who they had over as long as they cleaned up after themselves. Kenton stood back observing his work before giving a nod. Turning on the television, he pulled up his list of horror movies and waited, waited for the doorbell to ring. Rayne was at work and Atsuma was with his father at the shop, they would have the whole place to themselves. And she said she’d come over herself.
    Bahahahahaha.
So I read your post before going to bed and still have to think about how I want to have him tell her, if at all...
Serge with tactic doesn't quite work out well in the emotional section.
    -laughs-
He ordered her coffee and paid for it before handing it back to her. Her comment curled the corners of his fine lips into a little smile before he leaned back in his chair and waited his much more complicated coffee. When she thanked him for cleaning up, he could feel his cheeks turn a slight color of pink. Damnit. He thought, She caught me… Though she wasn’t mad about him touching her stuff, in fact she seemed more grateful than offended. That’s a good sign, “I apologize if I overstepped my bounds. But I’m glad I could be of some help where it’s needed.” He responded with a nod before taking his coffee from the shop worker and dropping a few bills into the tip jar as they drove off.

Reaching over into the passenger’s seat he grabbed the folder containing her information about her. “Read through this and make sure all the information is correct.” With the small file he handed her, a page described her parents; it listed her mother as dead and her father as alive but no more details than that. Would she recognize that her father was actually alive according to the paperwork?

The piece in his ear rang and he excused himself to take the call, “Hey Serge did you get her?” Elias’s voice rang through the ear piece.

    “Yes.” Serge answered back simply.

“Great! It’s going to be a fun reunion for the father and daughter team! Tears of joy. You told her right…” Serge stayed silent on the other end of the phone before Elias spoke up again. “You didn’t tell her?!”

“She is briefing the file as we speak.” He replied.

“Serge! She needs to know before she gets here or the shock could be too much.”

“I’m not good at things like that…” He said softly as if sounding embarrassed.

“Look Serge, the poor girl; she’s probably spent her whole life thinking her father is dead and she’s about to meet him face to face. Much less the next president of the united states… Serge, you need to tell her!” A small sigh escaped Serge as he contemplated in his head on how to tell her. He was a straight laced fella and would most likely come out and just say it. Elias however, knew this about their group’s leader and quickly spoke in. “You have to approach it with some tactic. If you don’t she might just jump out of the car.”

“Alright, we will be parking out front in 17 minutes.” Serge said into the ear piece before clicking the phone off and his brain began to work. How can he approach this ‘delicately’?!
Leon stared down his little human as she teased him about wanting to go surfing. Of course, his idea of being the big bad Leon towards her has melted away from how he was prior to their bonding. She really had changed him, despite the little it showed on the outside. She had broken down many walls of the Wild Lion of the Heavens and he couldn’t imagine what he would be like if she didn’t. He owed that to his little goldfish, his beloved goldfish, his goldfish.

It would be like her to think of his goddaughter, Jo was so thoughtful and caring. In addition it was no surprise that little Isabelle had taken a liking to the woman and that, that was very important to him. Upon the kiss to his neck and the squeeze to his hand he let out a small sigh of defeat. “Let’s go.” With that he gave her hand a squeeze in response and walked over to the door.

Pulling it open, there was no surprise to find the little blonde tumbling into the room and after a short-lived conversation the three left and returned to earth. The Gods ran to them as soon as they arrived and began breading the three with questions, concerns and some lectures. The three of them fielded all the questions the gods had for them before Leon announced he was bored of the conversation, drawing it to a close and the three left the house with beach gear in hand and clothes to change into once they arrived. And per Isabelle’s begging, they climbed into Jo’s jeep and began their journey to the coast.
When she called him a horrible friend, James’ blue eyes shot up from his cup; a friend? That’s right she considers him a friend when he’s not working. Or maybe, even when he is working; either way he didn’t think of it as something that would affect him as a ‘here and now’. Interesting. His brow knitted together in thought as he started to put two and two together on what she meant. So she wanted them to be friend and for him to be comfortable leaning on her in his time of need. It was such a strange feeling to think he would have a friend, a friend that he could rely on in that fashion. This… this was a first for him.

Then, she proceeded to explain how she felt she was being a bad friend and a bad mistress and while she spoke, he watched her face closely. She really, honestly, felt that way; she felt like she was failing him in a lot of aspects and that… that wasn’t true. A gentle sigh left him as he swallowed down some of the hot coco and reached out. Placing his hand gently on her shoulder, he gave it a small squeeze. “The fact that you care about me, Annie and everyone at the manor makes you a wonderful mistress. No one in your position gives any of us the time of day, nor do they even care about their employees. We are nothing more than objects to our employers more times than not. Do not discredit yourself my friend.” He whispered softly, “You mean more to me than I can explain in words.”

A nod rose and fell his head as he took a drink of his hot coco, finishing the cup and placing it on the nightstand. “You’re right though,” His voice was filled with a chuckle as he turned his gaze back to her. “I am incredibly stubborn and have trouble asking people for help. I should work on that. Actually I’ve been told I’m just bad with communication in general so maybe I should work on that too.”

Leaning towards her, he placed his forehead on her shoulder and let out a small sigh before closing his eyes. “You’re a wonderful person Freya, more than a butler or a friend could ask for.” Another gentle sigh left him as he gently buried his face into her shoulder. “You’re so warm…” His voice was soft and sincere as his cheeks started to flush. “I never realized how cold I was until you touched me. You’re as warm as your heart.”
Loki always enjoyed being the center of attention and he was enjoying it now as the angel led him out onto the dance floor. There was a mix of hatred, envy and annoyance in their direction. The male demons from his realm were rolling their eyes at his actions while the female demons seemed envious of the angel. However the angels around the seemed to hate the sight they were seeing. Was it that bad that a demon and an angel were getting along? Wasn’t that the point of the whole party? Either way, Loki was loving their hatred and couldn’t help but shoot the angels a bright smile.

Upon arriving on the dance floor he placed a hand on her hip and held her small hand that he had kissed in his. “It would be an honor.” He replied with a grin as he began to lead the dance. After dancing for a few minutes along the floor in a peaceful silence he gave her a spin before picking back up the waltz. “I’m curious Sky. What is it that you do in the heavens? I mean it must be something incredibly important or the angels wouldn’t be trying to kill me with their eyes.”

Who was this angel he was dancing with and why was she so important that the other angels would be obsessed with her? Is she the daughter of someone important? Is she higher ranked angel and he just wasn’t aware or… well there has to be some reason.
