Benoît's black limousine practically screeched to a stop in front of the museum. The ringing alarm bells could have been from a human robber of no consequence but he found it too suspicious that it had occurred just before he had come here looking for an artifact. Benoît quickly got out, "Stay." he said to the younger vampire, "I'm going to see if I can find any clues as to who did this. I'll be back momentarily." Benoît rapidly left the limo and roughly wrenched open the locked front door, quickly sweeping inside.

The first thing he saw was the dead janitor. At first he was going to ignore the man and pass him by but he noticed that the corpse was incredibly pale for being recently dead. On closer inspection the man had been drained of blood. A vampire had already come here and no doubt stolen the artifact he was looking for. Benoît went back to the Limo and pulled away turning the corner just as police cars began to file in from the other end of the street, a close call that. He began driving back towards the current residence of the vampire queen. Benoît had no idea where to begin with this mystery his only clue being that it was a vampire one that didn't serve the queen. Perhaps she would know of any renegades who would both know about the artifact and have the motive to steal it.

Bristlebane squinted carefully through the noise canceling barrier still trying to find out was Jack was talking about. Something about, the last, an outcast, and the amulet he was wearing. Well whatever, if he tried to find anything else out Master would probably do something horrid to him so he went back to focusing his energy. This time though he experimented with the small orb of power making it into different shapes, a square, a triangle. It seemed to always want to revert to a sphere though, what an interesting concept.
