well, in hexadecimal code, there's 113 shades of gray. Of course, a good portion of those are nigh indistinguishable from black or white.

Indeed. Nobody forces you to be in any one section depending on exactly how long you write.
These days there's really far too few RPs thrown into the Advanced Section. Its not as if the section should scare anyone. We know there's a lot of players who don't dare venture into those depths, despite their average posts naturally fitting well into it.
Things are slowly, but steadily gettin' better and better...

Its posts and plotting are both advanced in level. (its technically not in the advanced section right now, but that's only a semantic. Its advanced it belongs in.)
If you want a bit of a challenge, you could try the RP whose interest check we've got linked in our signature. Its a custom-world fantasy RP. Lots of intrigue and potential for intrigue there.
We'come to the guild. Its nice to see the people joining who like to write longer too... The Advanced section has lost many of its members due to the guild's former instability. That instability is now in the past, so good times should be ahead.
Who knows? maybe we'll encounter each other in some RP sometime?
